Mind And Body Are One
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 02:26:52 02/07/12
When people begin Cura Romana they often experience their body as something separate from themselves. Their minds are filled with the false idea that changing their weight and their lives can never be more than a dream. Then they learn otherwise. They discover just how connected it's possible to become at every level and how exciting it can be to live one's life in wholeness. As Cura Romana brings together body, mind and spirit in a harmonious way, you begin to experience a natural lifting off and clearing away of limiting beliefs and false notions that have dogged you, bringing a new sense of self-respect and authentic freedom to your life. This process greatly clarifies and expands our experience of the world around us too. For every blinkered view of reality blocks freedom, entraps creativity, limits bliss and disconnects us, not only from our essential nature, but from the Universe as a whole in all its beauty, wonderment and the power it can bring for growth and transforming our lives and our world. The new expanding worldview is called holism. It looks upon the nature of the Universe as holographic. It was named after the work of scientists who demonstrated that living organisms are integrated energetic systems within an integrated Universe. They showed that our brain and body are holographic. Each small part of us, like each part of the Universe, is not only connected to the rest, it actually embodies the nature of the whole within it. The tension between the new holism and the old mechanism -- which depended on a belief in separation between spirit and matter, form and substance -- is important to resolve if we are to break out of whatever self-imposed prisons still limit our lives. Each of us is being asked to let go of our preconceived notions about what's real in order to explore the further reaches of a wider, more exciting and transformative Universe. And for reasons I still don't fully understand, the Cura Romana Journey is often the perfect opportunity to let this happen.

Finnish rider Peetu Piiroinen wins the Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck-Tirol 2012 ahead of Seppe Smits (BEL) and Niklas Mattsson (SWE) / Seppe Smits crowned TTR Big Air Champion 2012 / 12,500 in completely sold out stadium.
With every ticket, pass and overage slot completely sold out the world´s best snowboarders were in the highest of spirits despite record-breaking cold weather at the Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck-Tirol 2012. In the Superfinal Peetu Piiroinen prevailed with Backside 1260 Mute Grab (91.70 points) over Seppe Smits (91.13) and Niklas Mattsson (89.53), who came from the event qualification rounds to finish on the podium in third place. With his second place tonight Seppe Smits tallied up enough series points to become the TTR World Tour Big Air Champion for 2012.
As always Air & Style’s perfectly shaped kicker delivered incredible riding from the start of the night in packed stadium. The crowd partied and danced the below freezing degrees away to live performances by Sido and the Beatsteaks.
Andrew Hourmont, founder of the Air & Style: „Neither snowboarders nor fans let the weather deter or intimidate them at all and showed the world, as they have done in all of the previous years, what the Air & Style stands for. Air & Style is sports, music and fun, whether temperatures are -20 C° or +10 C°. And year after year the riders raise their game and boost their trick portfolio even more.”

The Sweetback Sisters - "Be Back Home Tonight": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
Sweetback Sisters Emily Miller and Zara Bode may not be blood relations, but their precise, family-style harmonies recall the best of country music from the Everlys to The Judds, as well as the spirited rockabilly energy of Wanda Jackson, one of the band's role models. Like the artists they admire, the Sweetbacks are concerned with the traditional subjects of heartbreak, revenge, remorse and staying strong in the face of relationships gone wrong, albeit with a contemporary sensibility. "We're a renegade retro band that mixes up country, swing and honky tonk," explains Bode. "Sometimes what we deliver is straight out of the 50s; other times it's BR549 meets The B52s." The Sisters have been touring relentlessly since they released Chicken Ain't Chicken in 2009. Their new CD, Looking For A Fight showcases the band's razor sharp musicianship, complex arrangements and growing confidence as songwriters. "We tried to recreate the energy we get when we connect with an audience over the course of a song," Bode says. "The basic tracks were all done live, and we recorded most of the vocals with Emily and I crowded around one microphone. It gave the tracks a certain intimacy." The songs were cut onto analogue tape to capture the classic touch the band brings to the music. "We weren\'t looking for perfection, just takes that truly felt good and really grooved," Miller adds. "Tape gives the songs a warm texture, and we blended old techniques and equipment with modern ones to get the ... From: sxsw Views: 40 1 ratings Time: 04:26 More in Entertainment

2011-01-31 1st journal, Mayan day 4 Men/Eagle Complementary Text http://www.scribd.com/doc/80153207 Intro: For the first time in a while I've been feeling so wonderful – a sort of spiritual high. So I thought I'd go to the journal to share it, and see what would come out. What arises is my joy in the moment. It's such fun being me. I would that all were so blessed. The blessing is there to be had. It's been a real time of unplugging – letting go of things right and left. Consciously and even subconsciously we're letting go – we're moving on. At least that's what I'm sensing here. Being in heart is the ideal seat to have for this performance, my friends. I don't know who and what is performing, but I'm having fun watching the show. Mind is so burdened and under such a heavy weight all the time. Heart isn't like that at all. Heart is so very free. It's such a huge space to occupy, too. You can really spread your divine wings out there – well, figuratively, of course. So, I come to sing the song of being quiet, of being still deep within. We can still go about our daily routine and be the one watching instead of the one doing – just be the witness. It's an interesting stance to take - at first disconcerting. We're not used to any sort of emptiness. Mind is all about being filled, seeking out, grasping things. Mind doesn't really know what to do with this emptiness. Well, that's fine. It doesn't matter. It's not that you are the mind – instead you have a mind. You don't have to be with it all the time. You can leave it alone – let it do its own thing – while you go and do yours. It's a really wonderful thing to be discovering our potential for independence from our very own mind. I find it delightful. I hope you'll give it a try...

[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 20:31:03 01/28/12
Pleasure and lots of it is the driving force behind NazB's video "Give It To Me Now." The video, directed by Shamsheed Sobha (Studio-S) is a very high quality professional one, and is so full of heat that you just might need a cold shower after watching it. With a strong, thumping beat, the base, keyboards, pipes, and drums provide the perfect backdrop for NazB's colorful and creative lyrics about having his desires fulfilled without delay, declaring - "Shorty, give it to me raw/Give it to me now".
Beautiful seductive women, fine cars, dancers, and a hot club scene work well together to convey the message that life is all about living it at the top and having what you want when you want it. No waiting allowed - if, of course, you can kick it like NazB. Visually stimulating, "Give It To Me Now" is racy, powerful and captivating. Though the message is simple, it is one that is delivered powerfully as NazB sets it off in both English and French, which has a reputation for being the language of love. His accent and tone combine perfectly with the pulse of the music to provide a video experience extraordinaire.

49ers Gold Mine - Ep.24
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 04:26:19 01/27/12
Today, the guys recap the awful 20-17 overtime loss to the New York Giants. It was a horrible end to an amazing season, but not just one person is to blame. Sure, backup Kyle Williams did drop some vital catches that led to Giants possessions, but that may have never happened without starter Ted Ginn Jr. In the end, Giants Kicker Lawrence Tynes made a 31-yard FG in overtime to send the Giants to Super Bowl 46 Kyle Williams was the center of attention after the game, but he stood strong and tall. He stood at his locker and spoke to the media after the game and the next morning. He didn't shy away from his mistakes and took responsibility for him and his teammates, but some people went to far. The media reported of death threats (yes, like those cut out of magazines) towards Williams after the game. That's crossing the line and straight up disgusting considering he didn't hurt anyone and just made mistakes. You can make those death threats once YOU'VE done everything perfect, 49ers fans. Hawaii or Indianapolis? I'm sure a few players on the 49ers are glad deep down inside that they are heading to the land of surfing and tanning instead of bundling up and bracing for the cold weather Indianapolis holds in store. The Pro Bowl starters include: Justin Smith, Joe Staley, Patrick Willis, David Akers, Brian Jennings, and Andy Lee. These players were chosen to play, but cannot due to injury: Carlos Rogers, Dashon Goldson, and Frank Gore. The guys look ahead for the 49ers this off season, touching on what will change and what will stay the same. They are hoping for some new WR's and to keep the defensive team. Alex Smith's future is still in question as his contract has expired.

Kindest Lines - "Running Into Next Year": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
Covered in Dust the debut LP from Louisiana's Kindest Lines, opens suitably with a beat that sounds a lot like an industrial rendition of The Ronettes' "Be My Baby." Brian Wilson cited that song by the legendary New York girl group as the greatest pop recording ever, and many refer to it as the perfect example of Phil Spector's "wall of sound" production. Those artists established many of the templates for how modern music is made, but what still stands out is the sense of that music having been simply dreamed-up. With organic washes of layered melodic guitars and lush songcraft, this New Orleans-based trio is definitely doing some dreaming of their own. Kindest Lines are blazing a unique path into an enchanting realm of darkened electronic indie pop that is at once welcoming and foreboding. Just as Phil Spector clearly had his demons, and just as post-Katrina New Orleans in the wake of the BP environmental disaster has become as much an emblem of loss and destruction as of Mardi Gras festiveness and upbeat jazz, the tension between dancey jubilance and the cold heart of darkness lurks in each song. Lead singer Brittany Terry expertly navigates the listener through these terrains with a voice that\'s never so cold as to sound detached, and yet never saccharine. Her sultry earnestness effortlessly compliments songwriters Jack Champagne and Justin Vial\'s moody, punchy compositions while her diary-like lyrics and unassuming delivery invite the listener into her charmed ... New Look - "The Ballad": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
Recorded over the past three years, across the creative trinity of Berlin, Brooklyn and the sleepy hollow town of Hamilton, near Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada, New Look's self-titled debut album is a feverishly anticipated affair. The Canadian future pop duo of Sarah Ruba and Adam Pavao first emerged in 2008, landing in Europe with a self-released EP of pitch perfect, experimental pop entitled, "How's My Hair?". This was accompanied by a masterfully stripped back yet soulful reworking of close friend and polymath producer, artist and photographer Jimmy Edgar's anthemically androgynous smash single, "Function of Your Love". The couple's undeniable creative synergy translated directly to the stage, where the stunning, synth-playing chanteuse and former model, 25-year-old Ruba (previously shot by the likes of cult fashion provocateur Bruce Weber) and multi-instrumentalist, 31-year-old producer Pavao played a series of hypnotising live shows across the UK and Europe, with early support from the UK's premiere music and style press, including an upfront spread in Dazed & Confused magazine. "We've since developed a lot more and now fully realise what we have always wanted to do," introduces Pavao, speaking from their home studio in a converted Victorian house in Hamilton, Ontario. "What's most important to us is that every song has to sound super new to our ears. That feeling of unpredictability within every second of each song," says Ruba. "We'll never re-do a vibe and ...
