"Fear Factor" Is Nasty
[LESS INFO] 3 VIEWS | ADDED 20:35:16 01/29/12
Welcome to ICBW.tv
Actress Demi Moore was rushed to a hospital after allegedly becoming semi-consciousness as a result of inhaling whip-its. Whip-its Demi? You’re like 50 years-old. You’re not a teenager anymore, and doing the drugs of a teenager still wont make Ashton Kutcher come back to you.
Everywhere I turn, people are freaking out about Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak discussing the fact that he and co-host Vanna White would down a few margaritas between tapings of their show back in the 80s . Why wouldn’t they? Is Pat Sajak’s job so taxing that he can’t be a little lubed up? Think about it. Pat Sajak says three phrases; Welcome to Wheel of Fortune, Spin the wheel, Would you like to buy a vowel?. That’s it. And Vanna, she just had to walk to the white box that lit up. Even Demi Moore on whip-its could handle that?
There are reports that NBC executives are now potentially balking at airing an episode of Fear Factor that involves contestants drinking donkey goo. I’ve never understood Fear Factory. Seriously, what fear involves drinking a glass of donkey goo? I’m deathly afraid of being at the center of a donkey party. One final question, who was responsible for getting the donkey goo?
Update: NBC has officially taken the "donkey goo " episode off the schedule.

Does SEO Help Search Ranking?
[LESS INFO] 6 VIEWS | ADDED 09:02:53 10/01/11
"http://lockergnome.net/questions/128936/does-seo-help-search-results Tom Maxwell, a member of the LockerGnome community, asked: ""Does SEO help search ranking?"" Search engine optimization (SEO) is a series of methods used by content creators to help improve their ranking on various search engines including Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Having a higher search ranking means that people searching for a specific topic will be more likely to see your content before anyone else. Doing things like giving your content specific titles, using keywords and frequently searched phrases in the body of the page, and maintaining a set of standards across your site are great ways to start with SEO. More recently, search engines like Google and Bing have started to use social media as part of its search algorithms. Are people sharing your content? Has someone you associate with on Google or Facebook shared a specific link related to the subject you're searching for? These may very well be the biggest factors in ranking a site moving forward. What do you think? Does SEO improve your search ranking? http://lockergnome.com http://twitter.com/ChrisPirillo http://facebook.com/ChrisPirillo"

(havent tested 4g to 4g) the other time it was just choppy and near impossible to make anything out rendering it useless."

The Next Facebook? eduHookups Casual Sex College Social Network; Coming To Berkeley?
[LESS INFO] 31 VIEWS | ADDED 18:01:28 03/30/11
Is this the next Facebook or "Random Hookups For Dummies? eduHookups , with the tagline "Where fun comes to thrive," is a social network website that offers college students the chance to find willing partners for casual sex. Currently, eduHookups serves the following colleges in the Chicago Area (or "Chicagoland"): Columbia College Chicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Chicago, but "due to popular demand," the sites expanding to DePaul University and Loyola University starting Thursday, March 31st.
But considering the buzz surrounding eduHookups, it's going to grow beyond Chicago, and in fact, it's opening at Brown University starting April 4th. Segments on the sex networking site have been on The Today Show, a number of Chicago news programs, and even The Tonight Show With Jay Leno:
With all that, the eduHookups site has a long way to grow. It's current featuring 300 registered members who've sent over 1,300 private messages.
The eduHookups site started as "UChicago Hookups," a site made by University of Chicago students, for University of Chicago Students. In fact, the tag line "Where fun comes to thrive," is a play on the saying that, at the University of Chicago, "fun comes to die." Here's a news segment on the site when it was called "UChicago Hookups:"
Why eduHookups and not Craiglist?
Why is eduHookups better than the 'Casual Encounters' pages on Craiglist? That question's addressed on the eduHookups site:
> Why should I use this site instead of Craigslist?
eduHookups is open to members of selected colleges and universities only, while Craigslist is public. It's not hard to conclude which community is safer and has the more reputable (not to mention the more intelligent!) members.
Because an EDU email address is required to sign up on the site, the amount of spam/fakes/etc can be kept to a minimum.
Craigslist eventually requires interested parties to communicate on their own via email. eduHookups handles every step of the process, from public posting to private communication. Our private messaging system means that no user information is ever disclosed.
Our campus events section allows publication of local events that are more interesting and relevant to our user base.
The Next Facebook
In The Social Network, we learn that Facebook started as a way for college students to network, if not hookup. While Facebook was less "in your face," and perhaps because of that more palatable to a wider audience, eduHookups does provide a need for a society were people don't seem to know how to talk to each other.
Before the Internet, there was voice. A man was expected to approach a woman and talk and mate; to not be afraid to say anything. Now, men generally are the reverse: fearful of saying anything to a woman and more concerned with what other people will think, both women and emasculated men.
It's one of the characteristics of the " emasculated man " of today. It's the reason why so many men at parties just stand around in groups and don't say anything. And it's one reason why there are more interracial parings than ever before - for some people of color, a man is expected to act, period.
All of that, and more, have created the environment for eduHookups. Indeed, it's a great idea. So much so, this blogger's surprised it's not at Cal Berkeley, or Stanford for that matter. But give it time. eduHookups just may be the perfect cure for the emasculated male. Let's hope so.

Chris Brown is Under Control...NOT!
[LESS INFO] 6 VIEWS | ADDED 19:20:55 03/24/11
After the passing of Elizabeth Taylor , I’m not waiting for the other two celebrities to die. You know that celebrity deaths come in threes. If I was a betting man, I would be picking William Shatner to go next. Look at that head. What is going on there. It looks like his head is going to explode like that scene from Scanners .
So rapper/abuser Chris Brown is on the comeback trail releasing a brand new album called F.A.M.E. Brown would tell you that the album stands for something like Forgiving All My Enemies. I think it means more like Fighting and Maiming Everything including windows, which is just what Brown did after an interview with Good Morning America . After being pushed with questions about his abusive behavior, Brown responded after the interview by screaming at producers, smashing a window, and going out on the street with no shirt on. That’s what you call rehabilitation.
Warning! the following image is graphic and may not be suitable for children. AAAh! That is Ke$ha in a bikini! Why does she have the body of 85 year-old man, with a rectangular torso and short little arms. Come over here and put some lotion on my back.
Now, I don’t know much about Olivia Munn except for the fact that she is always on the internet and people love her. Now, I know why. Munn appeared on the Today Show for their St. Patrick’s Day celebration with Kathy Lee and Hoda and its one of the best things I’ve seen on TV in a while...enjoy

Seb asked me in chat recently if I actually use MySpace. I have an account there , yes. I actually even receive tens of visitors there each month. I admit that I really don’t even USE the site. Do you?
From all appearances, it seems as though MySpace has turned into almost a joke. They are working hard to rebrand the site and turn it into something unique that people will want to use again. However, I just don’t see it happening. When they first came up with the customizable pages, everyone loved it. We could make our pages look however we wanted… until it got out of control. Everywhere you look there are blinky things, strange graphics and comment pictures. It’s overload of a very bad kind, and people who actually care about such things seem to be the only ones using the site still.
Everyone I talk to who takes part in social media profile sites is on Facebook. LinkedIn is ranked up there as another site people feel the need to have a complete profile on. If I mention MySpace, I get strange looks or outright cynical snorts.
What are your thoughts? Are you still using MySpace?

Where will Reggie Bush hide the Heisman?
[LESS INFO] 19 VIEWS | ADDED 16:55:22 09/08/10
If I was Reggie Bush , where’s the one place I could hide my Heisman Trophy so that no one would ever be able to take it back. [Kim Kardashian's Butt] I found my place.
Welcome to Ride The Pine ...Let’s Talk Sports!!
Sources told Yahoo! Sports that the Heisman Trophy Trust is expected to strip former USC star running back, Reggie Bush, of his Heisman award by the end of September. The trust has denied these reports, but if true this would be the first time in the 75-year history of the award that it has been taken away from a winner. It’s still undecided if Bush’s participation in the 2004 National Championship victory will have any impact on the record books, but the USC offensive line vowed to take a paycut in protest this season.
The college football season kicked off with an exciting victory for the third-ranked Boise State Broncos against tenth-ranked Virginia Tech . Boise State could potential cause chaos in the BCS rankings this year, with doubters debating their strength of schedule. That’s not a big deal, because at the end of the year the best team wins in the playoffs. Oh Wait, there’s no playoff. I forgot a computer picks the winner! AWESOME!
The biggest holdout of the NFL preseason, New York Jets defensive back, Darrelle Revis , signed a four year-contract just in time to ready for Week 1. Jets’ head coach, Rex Ryan, said that this would be the last time he would get involved in a contract negotiation. Next time, he’ll just eat the contract.
And that is my view from the pine...
Head over to RideThePine.com right now to vote on whether you think Reggie Bush should be stripped of his Heisman Trophy. Results will be announced next episode.
Now I want to finish up with something new, called “The Last Shot”
