As we try to eat healthier, we often start by reading the nutrition label to check the fat grams, calories, what sweetener is used and more. Chances are we compare what we find on the label with what we think we know about healthy eating. But many people make decisions based on misperceptions. This segment highlights the similarities between commonly used sweeteners: high fructose corn syrup, sugar, and honey. High Fructose Corn Syrup has had its name dragged through the media. But the FDA says it is nutritionally the same as sugar, with the same number of calories and it is metabolized the same way.

Fighting for Eielson's F-16s
February 4, 2012 - While visiting Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Sen. Begich speaks about the need for the Air Force to keep F-16 aircraft stationed at Eielson Air Force Base. This follows an announcement by the Air Force to move Eielson's F-16s to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Sen. Begich is fighting this decision, which sidesteps a decision to keep the F-16s at Eielson in 2005. Sen. Begich has spoken off on behalf of Eielson to Defense Secretary Panetta and authored legislation to deny the Department of Defense funds to make the relocation happen. In Zambia, girls' decisions around school attendance are made interdependently with family members and other parties potentially more powerful than the girls themselves, and girls' decisions around sexual behavior are made interdependently with intimate partners and peers. These decisions have serious, measurable impact on the girls' health and welfare. The researchers are carrying out a randomized controlled experiment among 8th grade girls in Lusaka, Zambia, testing the efficacy of information alone relative to information with relational skills training (and control treatment) in affecting girls' school attendance and health outcomes. EU Drivers Anxious Over Increasing Oil Prices
For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me At the end of January, the European Union voted in favor of an embargo on Iranian oil to pressure Iran to drop its nuclear program. Now concern is mounting among European drivers that this decision is causing prices to rise at gas stations and could hurt the European economy. Our correspondent in Brussels has more. Drivers in Brussels are concerned that the EU decision to implement an embargo on Iranian oil will increase already high prices at gas stations. [Patrick Gay, Insurance Broker]: "Prices might increase from 10 to 15%. We are importing around 15% of our oil from Iran. So prices might increase at the gas stations for everyone." Recently the EU placed an embargo on Iranian oil products, hoping to force the country to abandon its nuclear program. Prices of oil products at gas stations have seen a steady rise over the last two years. A fact that's changed the budget and habits of many consumers. [Patrick Gay, Insurance Broker]: "We need to reduce our private traveling. We won't go to see family on Sundays, we stay home. We will see friends and family less often, because the cost is too much." Some say that if prices continue to increase, they will have to change their ways of traveling. [Joelle, Brussels Resident]: "If prices continue to rise, if we can't drive anymore, we will need to find another way. Public transport or electric car. If that is possible ... Gavin Newsom: Obama should 'do the right thing' on gay marriage
California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom visits "The War Room" to discuss a federal appeals panel decision that ruled the state's Proposition 8 unconstitutional. Newsom has rallied against Prop. 8, a ballot initiative that limits the definition of marriage to a man and a woman. On Tuesday, Newsom praised the federal court's decision but argued that the gay marriage issue warrants a decision that goes beyond California.
