Syrian Protesters Hurl Rocks at Chinese Embassy in Libya
For more news and videos visit ➡ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ➡ http Add us on Facebook ➡ on.fb.me Syrians and Libyans demonstrate outside the Chinese embassy in Tripoli after Beijing vetoed a UN Security Council resolution. The resolution was backing a plan to urge the Syrian President to give up power. Syrian and Libyan demonstrators hurled rocks, eggs and tomatoes at the Chinese embassy in Tripoli on Monday. This came after Russia and China vetoed a UN Security Council resolution backing an Arab plan urging Syria's President Bashar al-Assad to give up power. Armed men, who said they were from the Libyan government's Supreme Security Committee, guarded the embassy from about 50 protesters who waved Syrian opposition flags and had managed to break windows and spray graffiti on the walls. [Maher, Protester]: "China stands beside the gangsters of Assad against the Syrian people. The Syrian people have been killed and massacred -- where is the UN? Where are the international human rights organizations? Syrians are killed and bombed by China's war jets and weapons. China today supports the Assad regime to quell the peaceful Syrian protesters." China defended its rejection of the UN draft resolution, with state media saying Western armed intervention in Libya, Afghanistan and Iraq exposed the risks of forced regime change. Lost And Nameless Orchestra - "The Red Haired Boy": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
"Foot stomping, heart racing, exciting music..." As this fan attests, there's something about dueling fiddles, vigorous guitar playing, and an air-tight rhythm section that compels your body to move. Tastefully pairing a wide dynamic range and an intimate connection with the listeners, the Austin-based fiddle-driven folk rock quartet, Lost & Nameless Orchestra gets you out of your chair and onto the dance floor. Founding members Chris E. Peterson (fiddle / lap steel / mandolin / bass) and Patrick Conway (acoustic & electric guitars / vocals) met in St. Louis in 1993 and formed an instant bond playing fiddle tunes and Patrick's original songs. Their musical travels took them throughout the USA and Europe until the band settled in Austin, TX in 2006. The band has since grown to include 15-year old musical prodigy Kimberly Zielnicki (fiddle / bass / vocals / ukulele) and Nathan Quiring (keyboards / accordion). All four members are highly skilled and well trained musicians with a sincere love for making music together. The band's unique chemistry on stage creates an intimate atmosphere in the room and draws listeners into the music. As the intensity builds, it is not uncommon to catch band members dancing on chairs and fueling the fire of excitement in the room. After a standing residency at Flipnotics, a calendar full of shows all over Texas and Arkansas, and their first tour under their belt, Lost & Nameless Orchestra is currently in the studio recording their debut full ... He's My Brother She's My Sister - "Tales To Tell": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
He's My Brother She's My Sister's unique yet familiar sound exudes the earnestness of folk, the colorfulness of glam rock, the infectiousness of pop, the innovation of indie rock, the rawness of blues, the theatrics of cabaret, and the hip shake of rock‐a-billy. Brother and sister Robert Kolar and Rachel Kolar split vocal duties, with Robert on guitar and kick drum and Rachel on tambourine. Their voices range from boisterous to introspective, from breezy to emotive. Lauren Brown adds full-‐body percussion with her fluid tap-‐dancing. Oliver Newell plucks the stand up bass with joyous flair. Aaron Robinson plays lead guitar on a lap slide, veering from nuanced psychedelica to American roots riffs. They have toured the US extensively and performed at the High Sierra Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Nacarubi Music Festival, Manimal Vinyl Festival, Clean Air Clear Stars, The New Los Angeles Folk Festival, The North Park Music Festival and in the summer of 2010 toured Europe as the official band of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. They have shared the stage with The Devil Makes Three, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zero\'s, The Blow, Spindrift, Miranda Lee Richards, The Growlers, Local Natives, Frank Fairfield, Tapes N' Tapes, Alexander, Dawes, Dr. Dog, My Morning Jacket, & many others. The Good The Bad - "023": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
The Good The Bad are neither just good, nor bad & they're definitely not ugly. They're three Danish desperados, bringing the finest New School Surf & Flamenco to the worthy masses. In fact, their lip-trembling, bone-rattling, hip-shaking dirty cool has been increasing the birth-rate in Denmark by the day ever since their own explosive conception just one year ago. That's why in such a short time, TGTB were invited to play Roskilde Festival, German showcase festival Popkomm in Berlin and a Christmas mini-tour in London, followed by a quick jaunt to Norway. In 2009, after more English fun at Liverpool Sound City, Hop Farm Festival and a Harley Davidson European Rally in Latvia, TGTB rocked THE KILLERS aftershow party after their Royal Albert Hall gig in London. When they're not touring Europe, The Good The Bad can be found blowing the faces off people in their native city of Copenhagen, where they've impressed the more established underground scene and gained a firm fan-base. The band includes The Adam (Baby Woodrose, The Setting Son) on lead guitar, Johan Lei Gellett (Baby Woodrose, Kira and the Kindred Spirits) on drums and Manoj Ramdas (The Raveonettes, SPEkTR) on bariton guitar. "We don't have a singer because we couldn't find one that would stand behind the drummer. But we don't need a vocalist anyway. The music speaks for itself. We use the music so we don't have to say I Love You" says Adam. From: sxsw Views: 115 6 ratings Time: 02:18 More in Music

www.euronews.net The chairman of Costa Cruises, the company that operates the Costa Concordia that ran aground after hitting rocks off western Italy on Friday, has cited "human error" as the cause of the accident. Pierluigi Foschi said Captain Schettino appears to have sailed too close to land and failed to follow the company's emergency procedures. Cuff The Duke - "Count On Me": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
After almost ten years as a band and four albums to its credit, Cuff the Duke has made ... a concept record. The Toronto roots rockers wouldn't call it that (there are no suites about dragons here), but there it is, 10 tracks on a theme that flow like a film, like a good book, one filled with emotional highs and lows, plot twists, and universal truths. Morning Comes is a story about change, about confronting loss, about -- as one track calls it -- "Standing on the Edge" and having the courage to look across to an unknown future on the other side. "I think it's about reaching that point in your life when you're not exactly young anymore but you're certainly not old," says vocalist Wayne Petti. "Over the last couple of years I've had friends and family who passed away and you realize that there is a lot of this happening now, losing people. I felt I needed to address this emotion that happens to everybody, ...when you get off track and you need to rebound from it." Cuff the Duke has approached these heavy themes not with mopiness or despair but with strength, like men raised on John Wayne and Bruce Springsteen. (Which they were.) Nor is Morning Comes a collection of sad songs. Rather, some of the most infectious pop and upbeat rock the band has crafted yet. As with their 2009 record Way Down Here, they've enlisted as producer Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo, recording in his farmhouse studio in a manner than brings immediacy and authenticity to the recordings. Ep.2 Hunger Games/ The Gap/ Out of Luck
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 21:12:02 01/11/12
http://www.FilmedInUtah.com This week on Filmed in Utah, I'm going to show you 3 good reasons to watch locally produced web series. Web series are pretty much a condensed TV series online. Each episode is around 5 minutes and can be found on Youtube, Blip, and the Web Series Channel. Utah has become a hub for producing some very original web series and today I am going to share 3 very different shows with you. The first web series just started last week. It's based off of Suzanne Collins best selling books and upcoming feature film "Hunger Games" produced by MainStay Productions. This is by far the most successful web series launch I have ever seen. The production, writing, acting, directing, music, well I guess everything about this first episode was perfect. As of today, this video has received over 36,000 views and shows no sign of slowing down. Plus the timing could not be better. With Lionsgate's feature film release slated for March 23rd 2012 this web series is riding all the publicity being built by the studio for free which translates into a huge fan base. So take a note from Main stay productions. If you want to make a successful online web-series, Try to tie it into a successful book and make it a fan film web series. Our next web series is the first long form full length web series The Gap. The gap opens as Matt and Nicole become engaged. But when Matt wakes up the following morning he finds he is not marring Nicole but Rachel instead and also finds he can't remember the past 7 years . The writing was very smart, natural and witty. This is probably the best written web series I have seen. The stand out performances for me came from Adrienne Hartvigsen, Chantel Flanders, and from Chris Henderson who also wrote the series. The only critic I have about the show was that it was long. like 6+ hours long. I feel web series work better when each episode is is around 5 minutes and no mo more than 6 episodes long. The gap was closer to 35 minutes per episode with 13 episodes total. I am also a stickler about camera work and audio quality. Most of the series had rock solid camera and audio but their were parts where it was difficult to hear the actors and the camera would be very jerky. That said, it is the first full length web series and could easily fit into regular TV broadcast time requirements. So if you would like to check out the series in it's entirety check out the link below. Our last web series is a comedy called Out of Luck. I had a chance to talk with the writer/director of the series as well as one of the lead characters. We talked about how Riley Looks like a young Mark Hamil, and how important it is to have a good story. "Out of Luck" is a super fun web series that everyone should watch. The only thing that I didn't like about the series is that it ended too soon. Here are the links to the shows Hunger Games: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_MNmhZvYeg The Gap: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheGapSeries Out of Luck: http://www.youtube.com/user/outofluckwebseries
