Zenzile - "Simple Lesson": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
After a thirteen years old career, including: seven albums, five Maxi LP's and hundreds of live concerts throughout the world, you would think you knew all about ZENZILE. However, those who have followed this band since their beginnings in Angers, France, know well that: No one knows what will resemble a new album of Zenzile before it gets out. Instead of cloning their music precisely year after year, the quintet has always chosen to focus on their trade mark sound which is rich and various, thanks to a dazzling bass and whooping guitars. From the start, Zenzile is having fun mixing the same influences (post punk, Dub, folk, soft rock, soul jazz) with a savvy sense of measuring them all out, in order to produce a unique album every time. For Pawn Shop, the Angevins (from Angers) have deliberately let their POP spirit opened up, in a humble and formal way of course. Only two tracks are exclusively instrumental and are welcome signs of a previous life. All eight other tracks are carried by the voices of old partners: Jamika Ajalon et David K. Alderman (Warehouse), demonstrating some new and unexpected sides of their talent. This eighth studio album is less angular and more confident than the previous Living in Monochrome in which the band had let the guitar lead out. Today Zenzile seems to have found the right balance between staying simple while being demanding. Strings and organs are more present than ever to form melodies never dared before. Evidently freed from any past ... From: sxsw Views: 2 0 ratings Time: 03:46 More in Music

Ep.2 Hunger Games/ The Gap/ Out of Luck
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 21:12:02 01/11/12
http://www.FilmedInUtah.com This week on Filmed in Utah, I'm going to show you 3 good reasons to watch locally produced web series. Web series are pretty much a condensed TV series online. Each episode is around 5 minutes and can be found on Youtube, Blip, and the Web Series Channel. Utah has become a hub for producing some very original web series and today I am going to share 3 very different shows with you. The first web series just started last week. It's based off of Suzanne Collins best selling books and upcoming feature film "Hunger Games" produced by MainStay Productions. This is by far the most successful web series launch I have ever seen. The production, writing, acting, directing, music, well I guess everything about this first episode was perfect. As of today, this video has received over 36,000 views and shows no sign of slowing down. Plus the timing could not be better. With Lionsgate's feature film release slated for March 23rd 2012 this web series is riding all the publicity being built by the studio for free which translates into a huge fan base. So take a note from Main stay productions. If you want to make a successful online web-series, Try to tie it into a successful book and make it a fan film web series. Our next web series is the first long form full length web series The Gap. The gap opens as Matt and Nicole become engaged. But when Matt wakes up the following morning he finds he is not marring Nicole but Rachel instead and also finds he can't remember the past 7 years . The writing was very smart, natural and witty. This is probably the best written web series I have seen. The stand out performances for me came from Adrienne Hartvigsen, Chantel Flanders, and from Chris Henderson who also wrote the series. The only critic I have about the show was that it was long. like 6+ hours long. I feel web series work better when each episode is is around 5 minutes and no mo more than 6 episodes long. The gap was closer to 35 minutes per episode with 13 episodes total. I am also a stickler about camera work and audio quality. Most of the series had rock solid camera and audio but their were parts where it was difficult to hear the actors and the camera would be very jerky. That said, it is the first full length web series and could easily fit into regular TV broadcast time requirements. So if you would like to check out the series in it's entirety check out the link below. Our last web series is a comedy called Out of Luck. I had a chance to talk with the writer/director of the series as well as one of the lead characters. We talked about how Riley Looks like a young Mark Hamil, and how important it is to have a good story. "Out of Luck" is a super fun web series that everyone should watch. The only thing that I didn't like about the series is that it ended too soon. Here are the links to the shows Hunger Games: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_MNmhZvYeg The Gap: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheGapSeries Out of Luck: http://www.youtube.com/user/outofluckwebseries

Retail Receiving Shrinkage Prevention Video 6 S

The receiving process is unstructured in many retail organisations, with no written policies and procedures. Consequently, backroom receiving shrinkage accounts for an estimated 10% of retail shrinkage, which in an average supermarket amounts to over ÂŁ30,000 annually. Vendor fraud and employee theft are responsible for the vast majority of receiving shrinkage.
A receiver plays a pivoted role in any retail store. They are the first line of defence in a store through which every shipment has to pass. If the process and the individual lack integrity, it will affect the entire store inventory system. When vendors notice that receivers are ignorant of the merchandise they are receiving, they exploit the situation by either short supplying or charging for goods undelivered.
It is imperative that every retail organisation have trained designated receivers with knowledge of the products they are expected to receive and technology they use.
Preventing or reducing backdoor receiving shrinkage will require the implementation of the following strategies:
1. Authorised key control
It goes without saying that leaving the receiving bay open and unattended is an invitation for shrinkage. Receiving areas when unattended have to be secured and the keys held by authorised staff. Strict control of the receiving area is the most important element in ensuring compliance with laid down policies and procedures. Any personnel not actively engaged in the process should not be allowed access to this area.
2. Receiver training
Many retailers have still not been able to make the correlation between quality of staff allowed to receive goods and backdoor receiving shrinkage. Within numerous organisations there is no trained designated receiver, any staff member can receive and sign for deliveries. A receiver like a cashier literally holds the check book of the organisation, every error they make directly impact on the bottom line. That is why it is so important that receivers are extensively trained and supported with expert level of product knowledge. Much of the vendor fraud in retail stores occur primarily because dishonest vendors realise that the receivers are not properly clued up.
3. Clearly Written Policies & Procedures
Formally written policies and procedures that are implemented by a motivated and informed workforce will form the fundamentals of an efficient backdoor receiving shrinkage management system. The creation of a standardised system of receiving sends a message to dishonest employees and vendors alike that the organisation considers shrinkage reduction a priority.
4. Technology
The use of advanced technologies have aided the receiving process for most retailers. Technologies such as Direct Store Delivery receiving (DSD) or Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Merchandise Security tagging have changed the receiving process and made it easier for retailers to track incoming products and increase inventory accuracy. However, the use of technology is only effective if those using it are properly trained to get the most out of the device.
Technological devices used to their full potential can be of enormous benefit to the retail receiving process. Those retailers who harness technology to it maximum have succeeded in reducing their shrinkage level by as much as 9.2% and reduce their accounts payable by 65% and increase overall store profit by up to 3%.
