Secret Colours - "Faust": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
Secret Colours released their eponymous debut in the summer of 2010 with high praise from IFC, Nylon, The Deli, as well as countless blogs and alternative newsweeklies with acute tastes, a Pitchfork video premiere, and full page profile in Chicago Reader. They kept the momentum going with a series of digital singles, including a faithful yet distinct cover of The Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows." After pummeling various audiences with their wall of sound at South By Southwest, the guys hooked up with Red Red Meat's Brian Deck to produce their new recorded statement to the world, EP3 -- a five-song collection that shows Secret Colours' maturity and ability to hone in their craft. Secret Colours are Tommy Evans, Dave Stach, Dylan Olson, Justin Frederick, Margaret Albright, and Nate Wiese. From: sxsw Views: 92 6 ratings Time: 04:02 More in Entertainment

RnRTV #253: John Frusciante Stalked and Aretha Sings Outta Ticket!
[LESS INFO] 2 VIEWS | ADDED 14:25:47 08/23/11
Rock news to keep you in the know on Rock n Roll TV hosted by Share Ross - DevilDriver guitarist Mike Spreitzer hospitalized; Ex RHCP guitarist John Frusciante stalked; Outdoor stage collapse again; Slash hooks up with Mary J Blige; Aretha sings out of a ticket for mate.
Devildriver guitarist Mike Spreitzer was rushed to hospital after suffering a seizure. He will miss the band's upcoming tour of South America as the band will carry on with one guitarist. Mike woke up in the emergency room, is doing okay now and is expected to make a full recovery.
Former Red Hot Chili Pepper guitarist, John Frusciante says it started with a fan allegedly asking to write a screenplay about his life. But she wouldn't take no for an answer. The fan is August Elizabeth Thomas and for the past year she's been emailing and sending long rambling letters to John. She has also showed up at his concerts to talk to him about her script. Finally, in July Miss Thomas turned up at his home two days in a row. John has filed a request most likely for a restraining order in the county of Los Angeles.
Another outdoor stage collapsed due to sudden high winds. This time it was in Indiana at the state fair as band Sugarland was about to perform. 5 people were killed and 45 people were injured. As a result, Cheap Trick are canceling their upcoming date in vancouver where they were scheduled to play on an outdoor stage built by the same people who handled the Indiana setup.
Guitar legend Greg Allman is canceling some of his late summer shows due to doctor's orders.
Slash brought in Mary J Blige for a track on his newest solo album.
Ransacked in the London riots was Liam Gallagher's Pretty Green clothing store in Manchester.
Muse are heading back into the studio to begin work on their sixth album.

Brewmasters@Google: Shane Welch
Shane Welch is the founder and brewmaster of Sixpoint Craft Ales. Originally from Milwaukee, he got his start in college, where he realized his taste for flavorful beer could only be quenched by brewing it himself. With his background in math and chemistry, he constructed a "mini-brewery" in his basement and began experimenting. By the age of 20, he was sufficiently bored of academia and obsessed with beer making that he left college and landed a job as a brewer's apprentice at Angelic Brewing Company in Wisconsin. A few years later he ventured out on his own, and in 2004 opened Sixpoint Craft Ales in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where the brewery and local community have since developed a strong bond. Despite its growing success (their production essentially following Moore's Law and doubling every year), Shane remains true to Sixpoint's grassroots ethos and his own homebrewing roots by continuing to experiment and create innovative beers that are at the forefront of the revolution in craft beers going on today. For more info, see this article from the NY Times about the recent explosion of breweries in Brooklyn. www.nytimes.com Also, this interview with Shane from Timeout NY about Sixpoint's new line of cans. newyork.timeout.com Hosted by Bryan Blatt Directed by Lee Stimmel From: AtGoogleTalks Views: 13218 142 ratings Time: 01:21:27 More in Science & Technology

Start with a white, continue with a red, finish with a sticky. It's the classic night of wine drinking for many. So this week we follow the pattern and start with a Chardonnay from Oakridge, a producer from the Yarra Valley with big chatter about their whites right now. We continue with onto a red, staying in the Yarra Valley. The Mac Forbes Cabernet impressed Brad with its style and polish. To end the episode we hook into a sticky, in this case a Rutherglen Muscat from local stalwarts Chambers.
