[LESS INFO] 1 VIEWS | ADDED 11:55:03 02/06/12
There’s no better Winter-Opening than Swatch Snow Mobile 2011. Motor sport heroes, ski legends, stars and glamour – Saalbach Hinterglemm was definitely the place to be.
When Kimi Räikkönen and Nick Heidfeld enjoy a Party together and Aura Dione is wearing her warmest clothes of her huge wardrobe it’s time for this year’s most spectacular Ski-Doo Race. The Swatch Snow Mobile weekend in Saalbach Hinterglemm was once more a get-together for world champions, ski legends and motor sports heroes, plus leading figures from industry, culture and society.
The nail biting event was watched by thousands of spectators around the range, and Drift was lucky enough to be brought along for the ride. F1 racing giant Nick Heidfeld took a Drift HD for a spin during his laps at the event and brought back some amazing footage, showing these guys really do go for it, this ain't no friendly competition!
Thanks to Tara Ramos, Nick Heidfeld and the rest of their team!

Madonna di Campiglio, 11 January - Wrooom 2012. The snow-capped mountains of Madonna di Campiglio are more used to hosting alpine skiing champions on their slopes for World Cup downhill races, but today they provided the backdrop to a most unusual parallel slalom race. The two Scuderia Ferrari drivers, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa went head to head through the gates at the wheel of two FFs, the revolutionary four seater, four wheel drive Prancing Horse car. Le nevi di Madonna di Campiglio su cui normalmente si affrontano i campioni dello sci alpino nelle gare di Coppa del Mondo, sono state oggi teatro di uno slalom parallelo alquanto inusuale. The Baja 1000 is part of the SCORE Championship Desert Racing Series that include the Baja 500, San Felipe 250 and the new San Felipe Challenge of Champions in place of the Primm 300 which had been the only SCORE race in the United States. The Baja 1000 allows various types of vehicle classes to compete on the same course - from such small and large bore motorcycles, stock VW, production vehicles, buggies, Trucks, and custom fabricated race vehicles. The course has remained relatively the same over the years with the majority of events being either a point-to-point race from Ensenada to La Paz, or a loop race starting and finishing in Ensenada. The name of the event can be misleading as the mileage varies for the type of event ("Loop" of approximately 650 miles starting and finishing in Ensenada, or "Point to Point" also known as the "Peninsula Run" of 900 to 1100 miles from Ensenada to La Paz) and has represented kilometers in the past. Because the Mexican government was proud to play host, the race was initially called the "Mexican"1000 up to 1972. The first official race started in Tijuana, Baja California, on October 31, 1967, and was named the NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally. The course length that year ...
