GAME 2: Risen 2: Dark Waters - PC
Next up we have Risen 2: Dark Waters, the sequel to the 2009 fantasy RPG.
Several years after the end of Risen, humanity is pushed to the brink of existence and one of the only safe havens is Caldera, a city located on the peninsula of the Lost Realm. However, even this sanctuary is threatened by the world at chaos, as monstrous sea monsters cause shipments of vital supplies to come to a grinding halt. The hero, upon discovering a rumor that the pirates of the Southern islands know of a way to banish the creatures of the deep, journeys to infiltrate their ranks and attempt to acquire this knowledge in time to save Caldera from imminent peril.
A Unique Pirate Fantasy Setting — Risen 2 features an open world complete with copious amounts of rum, firearms, dirty tricks and a brand new voodoo magic style
One of the Most Intense, Immersive Game Worlds Ever Created — Risen 2 will fully envelop its players in its world with a full day/night cycle, dynamic weather patterns, NPCs with daily routines who react based on your behavior, and even creature AI with routine behaviors such as scavenging and sleeping that are impacted by the time of day
Every Gameplay Decision Made Has a Consequence — Risen 2 allows players to shape their game experience and even the game world itself depending on their actions and choices. Your choices may change the character's skill set, NPC relationships, or even potential quest lines
A True Role-Playing-Oriented Experience — A perfect blend of classical RPG gameplay and a fresh, unique underlying game world
Several Unique Islands — All lovingly designed by hand with no copy and paste set pieces, encourage exploration and adventure while the player hunts for secret treasures and hidden areas
New Visual Technology — High-res texturing, gorgeous weather, water and light/shadow effects, a fully revamped character animation system and an exhaustive NPC character model design which greatly reduces the chance of "clone" NPCs
If you dig the fantasy setting, then this might just be the game for you. The PC version is out now, but the Xbox 360 and PS3 version were pushed back until July.
GAME 3: Bloodforge - XBLA
Our first digital release this week is Bloodforge.

It will feature a new game mode: Expedition Mode where players create a customized team to bid against the European nations.
Players can import their Virtual Pro into the mode.
The game will include all 53 UEFA-member nations. The user can play a full version of Euro 2012, from qualifying all the way to the final, or start at the Euro 2012 finals.
All 8 official stadiums of the tournament will be included in the game.
The Story of the Finals scenario mode from 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa will be returning. The user earns points for how well they do which unlock more scenarios.

Selena was a bridesmaid to her close pal looking stunning whilst Justin, on the other hand, opted for a more casual look with army green cropped pants. Patrick Meighan, Writer for Family Guy Arrested at Occupy LA
[LESS INFO] 33 VIEWS | ADDED 18:00:05 12/09/11
Every police officer should remember this video .
Patrick Meighan, writer for the animated sitcom, Family Guy (See the clip above) was one of the arrested Occupy LA protesters during the eviction of the occupiers in the wee morning hours of December 1st. He's very um..."unhappy" about that whole debacle, and as such a creative writer he's very good at putting the details into words.
From "My Occupy LA Arrest, by Patrick Meighan," here's a look: >
When the LAPD finally began arresting those of us interlocked around the symbolic tent, we were all ordered by the LAPD to unlink from each other (in order to facilitate the arrests). Each seated, nonviolent protester beside me who refused to cooperate by unlinking his arms had the following done to him: an LAPD officer would forcibly extend the protestor’s legs, grab his left foot, twist it all the way around and then stomp his boot on the insole, pinning the protestor’s left foot to the pavement, twisted backwards. Then the LAPD officer would grab the protestor’s right foot and twist it all the way the other direction until the non-violent protestor, in incredible agony, would shriek in pain and unlink from his neighbor. >
It was horrible to watch, and apparently designed to terrorize the rest of us. At least I was sufficiently terrorized. I unlinked my arms voluntarily and informed the LAPD officers that I would go peacefully and cooperatively. I stood as instructed, and then I had my arms wrenched behind my back, and an officer hyperextended my wrists into my inner arms. It was super violent, it hurt really really bad, and he was doing it on purpose. When I involuntarily recoiled from the pain, the LAPD officer threw me face-first to the pavement. He had my hands behind my back, so I landed right on my face. The officer dropped with his knee on my back and ground my face into the pavement. It really, really hurt and my face started bleeding and I was very scared. I begged for mercy and I promised that I was honestly not resisting and would not resist. >
My hands were then zipcuffed very tightly behind my back, where they turned blue. I am now suffering nerve damage in my right thumb and palm. >
I was put on a paddywagon with other nonviolent protestors and taken to a parking garage in Parker Center. They forced us to kneel on the hard pavement of that parking garage for seven straight hours with our hands still tightly zipcuffed behind our backs. Some began to pass out. One man rolled to the ground and vomited for a long, long time before falling unconscious. The LAPD officers watched and did nothing. >
At 9 a.m. we were finally taken from the pavement into the station to be processed. The charge was sitting in the park after the police said not to. It’s a misdemeanor. Almost always, for a misdemeanor, the police just give you a ticket and let you go. It costs you a couple hundred dollars. Apparently, that’s what happened with most every other misdemeanor arrest in LA that day. >
With us Occupy LA protestors, however, they set bail at $5,000 and booked us into jail. Almost none of the protesters could afford to bail themselves out. I’m lucky and I could afford it, except the LAPD spent all day refusing to actually *accept* the bail they set. If you were an accused murderer or a rapist in LAPD custody that day, you could bail yourself right out and be back on the street, no problem. But if you were a nonviolent Occupy LA protestor with bail money in hand, you were held long into the following morning, with absolutely no access to a lawyer. >
I spent most of my day and night crammed into an eight-man jail cell, along with sixteen other Occupy LA protesters. My sleeping spot was on the floor next to the toilet. >
Finally, at 2:30 the next morning, after twenty-five hours in custody, I was released on bail. But there were at least 200 Occupy LA protestors who couldn’t afford the bail. The LAPD chose to keep those peaceful, non-violent protesters in prison for two full days… the absolute legal maximum that the LAPD is allowed to detain someone on misdemeanor charges.
Meighan reminds us that LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has referred to all of this as “the LAPD’s finest hour.” He also reminds us that not arrested on Dec. 1st, was former Citigroup CEO Charles Prince, nor was he arrested on any other date for that matter.
Be sure to read Patrick Meighan's entire account of the Occupy LA raid here , and thank-you, Patrick, for sharing your anger with us. Looking forward to a very special episode of the Family Guy .

Confirmed Serial Adulterer Passes Alleged Serial Harasser in GOP Race
[LESS INFO] 15 VIEWS | ADDED 21:00:01 11/14/11
Here in a nutshell is the state of play in the 2012 Republican presidential sweepstakes: alleged serial sexual harasser Herman Cain is being surpassed by confirmed serial adulterer Newt Gingrich . With Mitt Romney stalled and Cain hemorrhaging support from women voters, polls last week from CBS and Marist showed the former House Speaker had surged into a virtual three-way tie at the top. By Monday, new surveys from CNN and PPP showed Newt vaulting past the fading pizza maker. Nevertheless, that development should be a discomforting prospect for a Republican Party which lost the women's vote by 13 points in 2008. As his public statements and personal life show, the thrice-married Gingrich is hardly a champion for American women.
That starts with Newt Gingrich's belief that marriage is an institution between one man and three women in rapid succession.
In 1980, Newt was separated from his first wife and former high school geometry teacher , Jackie Battley. As she lay incoherent in her hospital bed following surgery for a reoccurrence of uterine cancer, Gingrich paid her a visit to announce he wanted a divorce. As Lee Howell , a Gingrich friend and associate at whose wedding Newt was best man, described it: >
"Newt came up there with his yellow legal pad, and he had a list of things on how the divorce was going to be handled. He wanted her to sign it. She was still recovering from surgery, still sort of out of it, and he comes in with a yellow sheet of paper, handwritten, and wants her to sign it. >
Newt can handle political problems, but when it comes to personal problems, he's a disaster. He handled the divorce like he did any other political decision: You've got to be tough in this business, you've got to be hard. Once you make the decision you've got to act on it. Cut your losses and move on."
He moved on to wife number two, Marianne Ginther . But Marianne fared little better, getting dumped for Congressional staffer Callista Bisek after a six year affair even as Newt was leading the inquisition of Bill Clinton. As Vanity Fair summed it up last year: >
According to Salon, Gingrich and the former Hill staffer (23 years his junior, mind you) would frequently dine in the Supreme Court cafeteria--an unsuspectingly sordid detail. (In 1995, Vanity Fair referred to Bisek as Gingrich's "frequent breakfast companion.") Gingrich stepped down from Congress in 1998 following an ethics scandal, among other things. The two were married two years later.
Gingrich, who swapped his Baptist faith for Catholicism just in time to attack President Obama's 2009 address at Notre Dame University, later explained that his rapid fire infidelities were the actually product of his own patriotism: >
"There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate. And what I can tell you is that when I did things that were wrong, I wasn't trapped in situation ethics, I was doing things that were wrong, and yet, I was doing them."
Of course, the things Newt Gingrich was saying to American women weren't any better.
As the New York Times recounted 16 years ago, Newt suggested menstruation should keep women out of essential roles in the American military: >
"If combat means living in a ditch, females have biological problems staying in a ditch for 30 days because they get infections, and they don't have upper-body strength. I mean, some do, but they're relatively rare. On the other hand, men are basically little piglets -- you drop them in the ditch, they roll around in it, doesn't matter, you know."
And for Gingrich, the biggest "infection" of them all - liberalism - caused a young mother to murder her children.
Back in 1994, after dumping his cancer-stricken first wife but before marrying his mistress following the adulterous affair that ended his second marriage, Newt pointed the finger at Democrats for the Susan Smith affair.
It was Smith who drew Americans' initial sympathy - and subsequent scorn - for her invention of a black bogeyman to conceal her heinous crime.
On October 24th, 1994, as the New York Times recalled, Smith killed her young sons, killings for which she was eventually sentenced to life in prison: >
That night, investigators say, Mrs. Smith pulled her car to the edge of a deep lake, stepped out, put the gearshift in drive and let it roll down the boat ramp into the black water. Her two little boys, buckled snugly in their safety seats, died under the lake... >
..."I believed her, right up to the end," said Juliaette Kerhulas, of Mrs. Smith's story that a young black man had ordered her out of her burgundy 1990 Mazda on the night of Oct. 25, then driven away with 3-year-old Michael and 14-month-old Alexander in the back seat.
Ms. Kerhulas wasn't the only one who believed in her. None other than future House Speaker Newt Gingrich rushed to the defense of Smith, whose step-father ironically happened to be a prominent Republican fundraiser and member of the Christian Coalition. Even after her confession, Gingrich insisted the Smith murders showed the decay of American society under Democratic Party rule : >
Enter Newt Gingrich, who rushed into action on election eve with another reliable generic culprit: society. He said the double murder "vividly reminds every American how sick the society is getting and how much we need to change things," expediently adding that "the only way you get change is to vote Republican."
As Frank Rich recounted in August 1995: >
Asked later by Tom Brokaw to elaborate, the Speaker-to-be cited "a direct nexus between the general acceptance of violence" and "the pattern that the counterculture and Lyndon Johnson's Great Society began in the late 60's."
Of course, the 1960's also happened to be the time when the women's movement rose to prominence. The victories it achieved for women's political equality, economic independence and reproductive rights transformed American society and helped move the nation closer to a "more perfect union."
Apparently, those epochal changes escaped Herman Cain's notice. And while Cain's is being punished in the polls for it, he is being replaced atop the GOP field by Newt Gingrich . While that may be a good thing for Tiffany's bottom line , it's a sad development for American women.

Verse 1: (Lowkey) "From West 10 to the West Bank, I write righteous rhymes with my right and wrestle the devil with my left hand, Never work for a Zionist, never been a yes man, My art is like Rembrandt painting pictures of death camps, The average person is allergic to the words of wisdom, This is for everyone of Saddam's Kurdish murder victims, And all the pure souls that never had the chance to speak, Truth pumps in my arteries and causes my heart to beat, For soldiers haunted and tortured by guilty memories, Who realised too late to reveal their real enemy, It's all dead wrong For every victim of racist persecution from Auschwitz to Hebron, My words may sting cowards, For people that were atomised by the Thermate in the Twin Towers Those living through the wars, Ask me what I do this for, Put the world in its place before it put you in yours, Chorus: (Singer) What happens under darkness shall come to light, Can't silence us even though you try, (Lowkey) You can try to avoid us but it's pointless You can never avoid the voices of the voiceless (Singer) Take our freedom, Can't take our pride, Come what may we will survive, (Lowkey) You can try to avoid us but it's pointless, You can never avoid the voices of the voiceless Verse 2: (Immortal Technique) Keep my third eye hidden under my New York fitted, A crazy unmarried man that deserves to be committed, The future is encrypted in my troubled lyrics, Dream that I've been somewhere for weeks, then wake up in a couple minutes, Sweat dripping with visions of population control, Thoughts overflowing my world like the melting of the North Pole, My people are targeted by military crack committees, So I'm bucking at the feds like natives in Rapid City, Reality savage, my words are like a riot in Paris, The voice of the voiceless, that voice is social imbalance, So stand strong or sit harder in your mental palace, Blinded inside a Kingdom united to its old habits, But now, Middle Passage coming, War Chant, African drumming, Gatling gun humming, Rapid fire mechanism, reckless living, That checks the rhythm of perfectionism, Slave condition, While you're singing God save the system, (Chorus) Verse 3: (Lowkey) Detain my body, but you can't imprison my mind, If it's my time I'll probably die with my fist in the sky, These are the thoughts of a man who can't escape from his coma, Cries of a young virgin girl who got raped by them soldiers, (Immortal Technique) Birthing a screaming bastard, post colonial nation, Subject to childhood diseases, famine, war and inflation, Education moulded you into your masters image, And you forgot who the fuck you were before the war was finished (Lowkey) You're hearing the ghosts of Nagasaki, You're hearing Hiroshima, Beautiful babies being born with the weirdest features, You might never see me in the charts, But Inshallah my seed can see peace in Iraq, (Immortal Technique) But peace and freedom can never be given, That's historically forbidden, Cos only collision is the recipe, Changing the course of destiny, So I'm strapped with weaponry, (Lowkey & Immortal Technique) Cos the government don't give a fuck about protecting me. (Chorus) My TIP JAR

3 Reasons Why The Debt-Ceiling Debate is Full of Malarkey
All anybody in Washington can talk about these days is the debt limit or debt ceiling -- the total amount of money the federal government is authorized to borrow at any given time. After a decade in which spending increased by more than 60 percent in inflation-adjusted dollars and the debt limit was raised no fewer than 10 times, the government is about to max out its $14.3 trillion credit line, leading to fears that Washington is going to default on its bonds, stop cutting Social Security checks, and destroy the economy more than it already has. But the current debate over the debt ceiling is full of malarkey for at least three reasons. 1. August 2 is a phony deadline. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has pushed back the drop-dead date when the US finally reaches its limit a bunch of times already: March 31, April 15, May 31 were all cited as deadlines before August 2 was inked in as Armageddon. But this time, he means it, man, really. 2. Reaching the debt limit is not the same as defaulting on our debt -- which would indeed be catastrophic. Think about it: You can max out your credit cards but as long as you keep paying the minimum amount due each month, your creditors don't go crazy. Interest on the debt is a small fraction of total outlays and the government has a series of tools -- from using cash on hand to selling assets to scrimping on nonessential payments -- to make sure interest payments are made and seniors aren't put on an all cat-food diet. 3. Paul Wolfowitz says Bush went 'too far' with Libya, blames Pan Am Flight 103 families for deal, and bashes American Right

Fareed Zakaria did something fascinating yesterday: He actually spent four minutes of his show teaching a little history. He explained how the Middle East was formed as a political bloc and how that led to what's happening there now. Can you imagine learning something on cable TV?
The pretext for the lesson was that he was interviewing Paul Wolfowitz, one of the architects of the Iraq War. Predictably, Wolfowitz attacked the Obama administration over its handling of the Libya uprising, but I was kind of surprised to see Wofly bash the Bush administration as well for making a deal with Libya when Bush took them off the terrorist list -- but in doing so, he ascribed blame to the families of the tragic Pan Am Flight 103 bombing. Of course, Wolfowitz has no actual proof that they put pressure on Bush.
Fareed Zakaria GPS: >
ZAKARIA: You were in the administration that have - that normalized relations with Libya. It is the Bush administration that brought him in from the cold - from the cold. Were you opposed to that decision?
WOLFOWITZ: Look, I think we needed to give some acknowledgement to the fact that he handed over his nuclear weapons program. But it was an illegal program, and I thought we were giving him a lot by in effect saying you wouldn't suffer the fate of Saddam Hussein. I don't think we had to go nearly as far as we went.
There was a lot of pressure from Pan-Am 103 families because they wanted to collect the money that Gadhafi was offered. I -
ZAKARIA: Do you think that's really -
WOLFOWITZ: At one point, I believed - well, I was being told that the pressure was - I believe it was significant. I can't prove it. The United States went ahead and restored full diplomatic relations and had the Secretary of State visit.
I think we have should have drawn more of a line. Some move was appropriate. I think we went too far, and I think the Obama administration continued that.
The man who heaped spoons full of love towards attacking Iraq is shoveling garbage on shattered families of the Flight 103 nightmare. A real class act.
From 2008: Libya pays $1.5 billion to settle terrorism claims >
Libya has paid $1.5 billion to the families of terrorism victims, overcoming the final obstacle to full relations with the United States, the State Department said Friday. The payment ends Tripoli's legal liability in U.S. terror cases and paves the way for increased U.S. involvement in the oil-rich nation. President Bush signed an executive order Friday restoring Libyan immunity from terrorism-related lawsuits and dismissing pending cases over compensation as part of a deal reached this summer.
David Welch, the top U.S. diplomat for the Middle East, who negotiated the agreement, called Libya's rehabilitation from a terrorist nation to a U.S. ally "historic." The pact closes the book on a contentious period in U.S.-Libyan relations, which began in the 1980s with a series of attacks involving the two countries, including the bombings of Pan Am flight 103, a German disco and U.S. airstrikes over Libya .
U.S. business executives hope the new relationship will lead to billions of dollars of new investment in Libya, a country rich in petroleum reserves but lacking a developed infrastructure.
Wolfowitz attacked many people in this interview, including the American Right generally -- for, as Zakaria puts it, losing sight of the importance of the importance of democracy. That means you, Rush Limbaugh! >
ZAKARIA: What about the American right? Is it - has it become so fearful of some kind of radical Islam that it is losing sight of the importance of the importance of democracy, in your view?
WOLFOWITZ: Look, I - I think there's too much attempt to put foreign policy views in - in right/left terms. The view that I would like to associate with is the one I think of as Harry Truman and John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan, who believed that support for freedom, support for democracy is not only something that is morally important for the United States but equally is strategically important, and a freer, more democratic world is good for us.
ZAKARIA: But - but the people who are arguing against it on the right are saying we are looking at what's going on inside these societies and they're going to end up being - becoming radical Islamic societies, and that's why we - we oppose them.
WOLFOWITZ: Look, there's a - there's a dangerous argument, I think, that almost says if - if you're a Muslim and you're not an extremist, then you're not a good Muslim, and it's coming from people who aren't Muslims at all. What I know is that there are 200 million Muslims in the Indonesia country that I know very - I - it's an exaggerated - it's a complicated country, but I know a lot about it. Most of those 200 million Muslims are very tolerant people. They liked nothing better than to live in a country that's like the United States.
We certainly shouldn't say, oh, anyone who is of that faith is a problem. And they are our best allies.
I'm sure very soon Wolfowitz will be going on RushBo's show to bow down, kiss the ring and beg for forgiveness from the Holy One.

Video: Man swears by 'drunk raisins' to treat arthritis
[LESS INFO] 21 VIEWS | ADDED 12:00:00 12/30/10
Depending on who you ask, a little alcohol can go with just about anything. Rum cake, egg nog with brandy or rum, and now on gin soaked raisins. It's actually a remedy 72-year-old Larry Wright swears by. Founder Larry Wright says "we start by putting jumbo golden raisins into this container. We heat our honey and our cinnamon, put them over the raisins and we fill it about here with gin." There used to be a time when every kitchen was a place where medicine was made, when we relied on ourselves to make us feel better. Larry says "this is our sobering process and the sobering process starts with draining the fluids." Of course, when homemade medicine involves booze you have to be careful. Larry says we leave them in the oven for 15 minutes. Their warmth will allow the the alcohol to evaporate. This is really going back to what your great, great grandma did and it worked for them and it works for me and it works for a lot of people." Larry wright decided to go back to that time. Larry says "somebody told me about the gin soaked raisin as a possible solution, it could modify the inflammation problem that's caused by arthritis. So I started fixing them." It got to the point where the 72-year-old decided to make a business out of it. Larry says "on one hand I wanted to do this, on another hand it fills a need." He sells his product on drunkenraisins.com. Larry says "40ish a pound. Using 8 or 9 a day will last a month." And swears the gin soaked fruit won't get you drunk, just feeling a bit better. Larry says "it's not like you notice pain going away, it's like all of a sudden it's not there anymore." It's like a, it's really good it has a little kick to it, has a little kick to it. I'm gonna have another one, gonna get in trouble at work. Just like anything, no matter where it's made you have to use it in moderation. Physician Dr. John Torres says "the gin is actually flavored with juniper berries and juniper berries have an anti-inflammatory property. On top of that, raisins are natural pain relievers and so combining the two might give you a little bit of benefit." Dr. Torres says the raisins are probably doing most of the good in that mix. So if you want to cut back on the alcohol, he recommends trying them by themselves.
