That research indicates that terrorist activity in this venue is becoming increasingly aggressive. Our Israeli team visited one of the researchers and learned about some of the research findings. Cyber terrorism attacks, such as publicizing numbers of credit cards online, multiply constantly. But nowadays it's not only hacker attacking via the Internet - terrorist organizations are now penetrating social media sites such as Facebook, Youtube and Twitter for the purpose of recruiting people and even for planning terrorist attacks. Research launched some 13 years ago at the Haifa University in Israel, began by monitoring 12 Internet sites used by terrorists. Today 7800 such sites, whose operation are becoming increasingly aggressive, are under surveillance. [Prof. Gabriel Weimann, Communications, Haifa University]: "They are becoming very sophisticated and [they are] using very updated, very modern platforms like Youtube, Twitter, Myspace, Facebook and so on." In the past terrorist organizations used to attract public attention to their sites using the "pull tactic," today they have replaced this approach with the opposite "push tactic." The page was created for all types of farmers and people interested in related fields. Soy farmers in Argentina are getting social with the launch of a new social network called "Soybook" designed to become a platform for growers to swap tips, techniques and general concerns over the Internet. The new website - the brainchild of Mariano Torrubiano - was launched in October. He hopes it will become the social network of choice for farmers and others involved in the soy industry. [Mariano Torrubiano, Creator of Soybook]: "The main purpose of Soybook is to connect farmers who have common needs, whether they be commercial or not. Soybook is also a place to get together where a lot of farmers come to investigate different things or doubts they have at different times." Similar to other social networks like Facebook and Myspace, users can upload photos and videos and post on 'friends' walls, but they also have the option to start and answer forums related to agricultural industries. Since launching, Soybook has accumulated more than 250 unique users mostly from Argentina, but the creator of the page says he hopes to see that quickly expand.
