Young hairdressers under 21 have their own category - "Newcomer of the Year." On Saturday, 20 Czech and Slovak hairdressers competed for the title Hairdresser of the Year at the Industrial Palace in Prague. This year's competition was enriched by the world premiere of the hairstyle collection Essential Looks. More than 14 hundred distinguished guests from 43 countries were sitting in the audience. The collection was presented by British hairstylists Lesley Lawson and Tyler Johnston, a personal hairdresser of the actress Cate Blanchett. We asked Tyler Johnston, where he got the inspiration for his new collection: [Tyler Johnston, Famous Hairdresser]: "The collection itself is really heavily driven inspiration from the catwalks. That is basically where our looks come from. You know, from New York, Paris, Milan and London. And I work backstage a lot on those fashion shows and fashion weeks so I really bring back those looks." Any professional hairdresser can take part in this Czech and Slovak Hairdressing Awards competition. This year, the competition had twelve categories. The Great Wilderness is a dream rock band from San Jos%eacute, Costa Rica influenced by British post punk, alternative rock and inspired by bands such as BRMC, The Big Pink, M83, Joy Division and Sonic Youth. The group is formed by Paola Rogue (vox, guitar), Jimena Torres (guitars) and Monserrat Vargas (bass, vox). In June 2010, they self-released their first EP titled Afterimages of Glowing Visions, a 5 song semi-conceptual work based on a post-apocalyptic dream that evoques an exploration of one's inner world. The album is available as a free download through Bandcamp and its physical version can be bought at local concerts. In November 2010, they revealed their second EP, Tiny Monsters, to the public. It is a 6 song album focused on topics such as claustrophobia, determinism and obsessiveness. In April 2011, they released a stand alone double single called "Dark Horse" (parts 1 and 2). The group recently went on their first European tour and visited cities like Berlin (playing at Lido), London (The Old Blue Last, The Dublin Castle), Manchester (Night & Day Cafe) and Paris (Le Motel). Sharing the stage with acts like Ghxst, Portugal The Man and La Pegatina. The band has been featured in publications like The NME Magazine, Noiseloop and Cuchara Sonica, where it was chosen as the best new underground band of 2010. They are currently working on their third production which is scheduled for release on March 2012, same month in which they will showcase at SXSW. It's said that Charlotte wrote the booklet in very tiny handwriting for her toy soldiers to read. A museum in Paris unveiled a manuscript written by the British author Charlotte Bronte on Monday, after paying US $1.1 million at an auction in December for the artifact. The 1830 booklet,which will be on exhibition at Le Musee des Lettres et Manuscrits from Tuesday, has been the cause of a dispute between Britain and France. The Bronte Parsonage Museum in the family's former home in northern England lost out in its bid to buy the writing. Sotheby's, which auctioned the mini-magazine as part of its English literature sale in London, called it: "the most important Bronte manuscript to have appeared at public auction in more than 30 years." [Gerard Lheritier, President, Musee des Lettres et Manuscrits]: "...The father gave the sisters ten miniature wooden soldiers, and he said that Charlotte wrote in very small, fine handwriting, so that her soldiers could read from the book." The booklet by the author of the 19th century classic "Jane Eyre" contains more than 4 thousand words in miniature letters on 19 pages, which measure less than 1.5 by 2.5 inches.
