On Foreign Entanglements, Matt and Meir discuss the real winners in Iran's parliamentary elections, and how Ahmadinejad got in trouble with the country's religious authorities. Could anything persuade the Supreme Leader to change course? Meir corrects assumptions about Iranian "apocalypticism," and argues that Obama and Netanyahu are playing a good cop/bad cop routine. Finally, is a Middle East free of nuclear weapons an attainable goal?

Israeli Police Arrest Ultra-Orthodox Protesters
For more news and videos visit ➡ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ➡ http Add us on Facebook ➡ on.fb.me Israeli police arrest ultra-Orthodox protesters after scuffles in a town near Jerusalem. The trouble started over demands by zealots to restrict women from certain streets. Israeli police arrested several ultra-Orthodox protesters on Monday after an officer was injured in demonstrations in a divided city near Jerusalem. Last Friday a popular television channel showed an eight-year-old girl saying Orthodox men had harassed her about the way she was dressed while she was going to school in Beit Shemesh. That led to an increased police presence there and during scuffles one protester was arrested and three other ultra-Orthodox men are detained. The dispute underscores a widening fault-line in Israel between the religiously devout and a majority of non-observant Jews. Israeli women say they are discriminated against on buses and other in other places. Activist groups plan public protests in Beit Shemesh against "efforts to exclude women" from the public realm. Ultra-Orthodox Jews make up about 10 percent of Israel's population but voting patterns give them considerable clout. But many rabbis have insisted the incidents in Beit Shemesh were the acts of a fringe minority. On Sunday Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu order a crackdown against zealots accused of trying to enforce a form of gender segregation across Israel.
