Honda said its scrapping process is environmentally friendly, including recycling aluminium and rubber parts. As this car is reduced to a compact cube of metal and glass, lines of muddy vehicles await the same fate. Honda executives said they are making good on a promise not to sell flood-damaged parts or cars.

Muddy Waters Research said in June the company was exaggerating its earnings and assets and likened the company to a Ponzi scheme. But the report leaves plenty of unanswered questions. The long awaited report by independent directors of timber giant Sino-Forest says the company's records are much cleaner than critics had argued. But unanswered questions remain about the company, which manages timber plantations in China and raised more than $3.5-billion from investors. The CEO, Judson Martin said in a statement, "We can categorically say Sino-Forest is not the 'near total fraud' and 'Ponzi scheme' as alleged by Muddy Waters." The company's shares in Canada plunged after short-seller Muddy Waters Research released a scathing report in June claiming the company had exaggerated the value of its timber assets and annual revenue. At the time there was growing public concern about the reporting methods of some Chinese firms listed in the West. The Ontario Securities Commission began its own investigation and said in August it had preliminary evidence of fraud. (November 23, 1926 -- September 1, 2005), born Robert Lee Burnside, was a North Mississippi hill country blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist who lived much of his life in and around Holly Springs, Mississippi. He played music for much of his life, but did not receive much attention until the early 1990s. In the latter half of the 1990s, Burnside repeatedly recorded with Jon Spencer, garnering crossover appeal and introducing his music to a new fanbase within the underground garage rock scene. Burnside was born in Harmontown, Mississippi, in Lafayette County. He spent most of his life in North Mississippi, working as a sharecropper and a commercial fisherman, as well as playing guitar at weekend house parties. He was first inspired to pick up the guitar in his early twenties, after hearing the 1948 John Lee Hooker single, "Boogie Chillen" (which inspired numerous other rural bluesmen, among them Buddy Guy, to start playing). He learned music largely from Mississippi Fred McDowell, who lived nearby in an adjoining county. He also cited his cousin-in-law, Muddy Waters, as an influence.
