At this point it may be worth the wait to see spidey in action on the big screen. And now we have a release date for Joss Whedon's superhero pic will for Blu-ray and DVD which is September 25th.... as expected the combo set is loaded with special features. The 4-disc Blu-ray/DVD pack includes an audio commentary by Whedon, TONS of deleted scenes including an alternate ending, featurettes and much more. IN addition to this blu ray release, aa 10-disc Blu-ray super set is also apparently being planned. Talk about the perfect gift for ANYONE!!! On the films press day, whedon revealed that there would be 30 minutes of deleted scenes one of which we know will be featuring Captain America reuniting with an old Peggy Carter.... Moreover, Whedon also said that there was a lot of himself that got cut from the finished film, so we are thinking this is just a geekgasim waiting to happen! A new 4 minute long trailer premiered at the beginning of America's Got Talent, showing a rather fatherly side of Peter Parker. In the trailer, we see Andrew Garfield as the masked superhero saving a young boy from a burning car hanging from a bridge and letting the little boy wear his mask. It's a softer side to Spiderman which is followed by footage scene in the trailer that debuted with The Avengers release. And as if that wasn't enough to get your excitement up, a new viral campaign has launched that focuses on Oscorp Industries. A hunt for Lizard began last week which lead to the reveal of the company website. A video featuring Dr. Curt Connors, aka Lizard, announced that Oscorp was searching for interns to help with a project involving reptiles. The application process consists of puzzles that when completed, reveals new photos featuring various scientific research as well as info on Peter Parker's parents. Additional videos from Dr. Connors have also been discovered. The campaign is just getting started, so be sure to head on over to the Oscorp Industries website to get in on the action. It seems as if the US will indeed be getting an extra scene at the end of the credits of Marvel's The Avengers and apparently its not at all what we expect! SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Movies.com writer Christopher Campbell, who last night attended a screening of Marvel's The Avengers in the US confirmed that there was an extra scene via twitter...he then also offered to direct message folks what the scene was...and word on the street is, the scene is of....LAST CHANCE TO LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, for those of us who say the movie already, this will make sense---the extra scene is of all the avengers eating shawarma after the final battle...if you haven't seen the flick, it makes no sense, but to me, its great...and I appreciate the humor. I might go back just to see this one minute scene. We previously reported that Robert Downey Jr told reporters on the red carpet at the world premiere that they weren't done shooting, which Mark Ruffalo later confirmed. At cinemacon, Warner Bros debuted 10 minutes of footage of Peter Jackson'sThe Hobbit in the revolutionary new format of 48 frames per second. So what did they thing? Well one industry observer said this, "It was like seeing Live From The Met at IMAX. Kinda cold." Another three-time Oscar winner to be unnamed said, "I think we should let him finish it and see what it's like then, but it seems a little like the look of a soap opera". Still another media member thought it looked "extraordinary" but felt the high-defness of it all would deeply divide moviegoers, especially those who like the grain of film.
