John Cho and Kal Penn reprise their title roles in "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas," which picks up six years after their last adventure. Following years of growing apart, Harold Lee (Cho) and Kumar Patel (Penn) have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar's door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold's house ends with the "high grade" contents—and Harold's father-in-law's prize Christmas tree—going up in smoke. With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean. Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven—and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high. The 2004 cult hit "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" launched the franchise, followed by "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay." The third installment is the first to highlight the guys' hilarious mishaps in 3D. It would not be a "Harold & Kumar" film without Neil Patrick Harris, who returns along with Paula Garces (TV's "Defying Gravity") as Maria; Danneel Harris ("The Roommate") as Vanessa; Eddie Kaye Thomas (the "American Pie" movies) as Rosenberg; David Krumholtz ("Mr. Popper's Penguins") as Goldstein; and Bobby Lee ("Pineapple Express") as Kenneth Park. Following years of growing apart, Harold Lee (Cho) and Kumar Patel (Penn) have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar's door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold's house ends with the "high grade" contents—and Harold's father-in-law's prize Christmas tree—going up in smoke. With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean. Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven—and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high. The 2004 cult hit "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" launched the franchise, followed by "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay." The third installment is the first to highlight the guys' hilarious mishaps in 3D. It would not be a "Harold & Kumar" film without Neil Patrick Harris, who returns along with Paula Garces (TV's "Defying Gravity") as Maria; Danneel Harris ("The Roommate") as Vanessa; Eddie Kaye Thomas (the "American Pie" movies) as Rosenberg; David Krumholtz ("Mr. Popper's Penguins") as Goldstein; and Bobby Lee ("Pineapple Express") as Kenneth Park. John Cho and Kal Penn reprise their title roles in "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas," which picks up six years after their last adventure. Following years of growing apart, Harold Lee (Cho) and Kumar Patel (Penn) have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar's door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold's house ends with the "high grade" contents—and Harold's father-in-law's prize Christmas tree—going up in smoke. With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean. Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven—and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high. The 2004 cult hit "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" launched the franchise, followed by "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay." The third installment is the first to highlight the guys' hilarious mishaps in 3D. It would not be a "Harold & Kumar" film without Neil Patrick Harris, who returns along with Paula Garces (TV's "Defying Gravity") as Maria; Danneel Harris ("The Roommate") as Vanessa; Eddie Kaye Thomas (the "American Pie" movies) as Rosenberg; David Krumholtz ("Mr. Popper's Penguins") as Goldstein; and Bobby Lee ("Pineapple Express") as Kenneth Park. Joining the ensemble are Tom Lennon ("I Love You Man") as Harold's new best friend, Todd; Amir Blumenfeld (TV's "Pranked") as Kumar's new best friend Adrian; Danny Trejo ("Machete") as Harold's father-in-law; and Elias Koteas ("Shutter Island") as Ukranian mob boss Sergei Katsov. Rounding out the cast are Patton Oswalt ("The Informant!"), Richard Riehle ("Halloween II"), Jordan Hinson (TV's "Eureka"), John Hoogenakker ("Contagion"), Jake Johnson ("No Strings Attached"), Yasen Payankov ("Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon") and David Burtka (TV's "How I Met Your Mother"). Todd Strauss-Schulson helmed the film, marking his major feature film directorial debut. The 2004 cult hit "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" launched the franchise, followed by "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay." The third installment is the first to highlight the guys' hilarious mishaps in 3D. The Wexford Civic Center played host to a series of SnoCross races this weekend, when round three of the seven-part Michigan Regional Snocross series came to town. SnoCross is a winter version of the popular MotoCross sport. Like MotoCross, SnoCross involves racing on a rough course… but rather than using bikes and dirt, the winter sport uses snowmobiles and, well, snow. "It's a great sport; it keeps you in good shape in condition," said Adam Weiler, a racer in this weekend's competition, "You know, sometimes you'll get hurt and sometimes you won't, but it's about the sport. It's a good time out here, and you meet a lot of good people." Meeting a lot of people is an easy thing to do during a SnoCross series like the one featuring races at the Wex this weekend. The Michigan Regional Snocross series includes races throughout the state. "We're gonna be all the way from Hart, Michigan, all the way up to Sault St. Marie during the I-500," Rick Zenner, the race director at this weekend's event, told Local Edition. While there are plenty of different venues used during a SnoCross competition, organizers of the Michigan Regional series said that no matter where they are, community support is key… and Cadillac has really stepped up to the plate to make this weekend's event possible. "These events don't happen if the community isn't involved to help you out," said Zenner, "So once again, Cadillac has really stepped up to the plate… to bring us the snow, to give us the venue, and to help us out put this great event on." With a great show of community support making the event possible, one simple sentence says it all. "Everybody loves it," said Zenner. The SnoCross Races will continue throughout the day Saturday and Sunday, so there's plenty of time to come out to the Wex to check them out. (Photo by Greg Peterson)(Marquette, Michigan) - Despite a major snowstorm a day earlier, bishops and leaders from northern Michigan's largest faith communities planted the first of 12,000 trees during an Earth Day ceremony on the shores of Lake Superior.Standing on a hillside surrounded by huge pine trees two bishops and several other faith leaders blessed a three-foot native species white spruce tree and took turns putting shovels full of dirt into the hole.With a cold wind blowing and icy waves of Lake Superior crashing in the background, the Earth Day 2009 late afternoon blessing of the trees ceremony was held on Presque Isle - that is surrounded on three sides by the largest freshwater lake on the planet.The storm dumped up to 20 inches of snow in parts of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, however several weeks of mild weather ensured the ground was not frozen.Anticipating the cold April weather, organizers earlier decided to plant the rest of the trees on Sunday, May 3 when the weather is more appropriate for planting the 12,000 12-to-16-inch seedlings at numerous locations across northern Michigan including 100 churches and temples.Superior Watershed Project Executive Director Carl Lindquist explain how his nonprofit organizations has handled some of the technical aspects of the many EarthKeeper projects since 2004.
