Electronic Arts is closing down several online servers and the classic adventure game "The Last Express" is coming to iOS. SHOW NOTES: Story 1: Electronic Arts has announced that it will be closing down several online servers for over a dozen games. Several of these games use the companies Online Pass as well. Starting on April 13, EA will shut down the servers for the following games: EA Spots MMA, Burnout Revenge, Godfather II, and the XBLA game Spare Parts. The Online Pass was EA’s way of trying to get some money back from used game sales. Gamers that purchased a used copy of a game would typically have to pay a $10 fee in order to access any online component of the game. We can’t say we’re really surprised by this. It takes a lot of money to maintain online servers. If a game just doesn’t have many people playing it, it just make sense to close the servers down. The game, developed by Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner, takes place on the Orient Express just before the outbreak of World War 1. The game featured 30 characters, representing a cross section of Europe during that time period. It was also one of the first games that tried to simulate real time passing. The game had disappointing sales upon release, but was very well reviewed. This new release will be developed by DotEmu, who spearheaded the PC digital re-release last year.
