Aerosmith's long awaited new album is slated for a May 2012 release. Seems like a long time but producer Jack Douglas explained that the band will be touring South America and then on to Japan for October, November and December and won't get back to the studio until January. Interestingly enough though, next May is when the the new season of American Idol is wrapping up.
Slipknot's future has been in question since their bass player Paul Gray's death. But Corey Taylor along with drummer Shawn Crahan… have all but confirmed that the band will hit the road by summer of next year.

The Feds recently raided Gibson Guitars at their manufacturing facility in Nashville, Tennessee. They were seeking evidence that Gibson had shipped illegal rosewood from Madagascar via Germany. Gibson said that they are fully cooperating with the federal investigation. Adding that they use certified buyers that purchase wood from legal suppliers who follow all standards. So if you have an old Gibbo rosewood acoustic… whatever you do… do NOT cross an international border with it.
