The photos have since gone viral. It was not until then that some consumers realized that Apple products are not made by robots. The New York Times reported recently on the harsh work conditions at Apple suppliers in China. Now some consumers are saying they would rather pay more for the products. A recent New York Times report on the cruel working conditions inside Foxconn Technology, and other Apple suppliers in China, is getting a lot of attention. The report says employees assembling Apple products often "Labor in harsh conditions...work excessive overtime, in some cases seven days a week, and live in crowded dorms...Some say they stand so long that their legs swell until they can hardly walk." Moreover, workers also face serious safety threats, sometimes deadly. Two explosions caused by aluminum dust last year at two Foxconn plants killed four people and injured 77. Two years ago, 137 workers were injured after they were ordered to switch from rubbing alcohol to a toxic chemical, n-hexane, to clean iPhone screens. Villagers are saying that if they don't get benefits returned to them, their protests could be bigger than the Wukan protests last year. "Return our land, return our voting rights, establish an autonomous village federation!" Shouts from more than 100 people in Maoxue Village in China's Henan Province, as they marched to local government offices on January 27th. They were protesting land grabs by local officials and calling for voting rights. [Maoxue Villager]: "That land is ours. We had a contract earlier but it expired. Once the contract ended it should have been returned to us, but we didn't get the land back. When we reacted, no one helped us, everyone from the county to the village is the same, and they don't deal with it." This man is referring to 12 acres of land that should have been returned to villagers. They say local officials manipulated the village for too long. One man, Gao Qilin, served as the local Party Secretary for 20 years, and has now handed over the position to his son. [Maoxue Villager]: "We have started to feel that we will never again keep our mouths shut, so we have started to speak. You know, the life of peasants is very bitter. Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi today declared his optimism ahead of a UN experts' visit aimed at probing suspected military aspects of his country's nuclear work. Speaking in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Salehi accused the western powers of hypocrisy and hoped that justice will prevail as the nuclear probe commences. [Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran's Foreign Minister]: "But the difference is we believe in the logic of rationality while they believe in the logic of power. This is the difference. We believe in justice, while they seek injustice. We believe in the love for humanity while they follow the path of hypocrisy." A team of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors have began a three-day visit to try and get to the truth of Iran's nuclear ambitions. The West, this month took measures that affect the ability of Iran to sell its crude oil. In response the Iranian parliament may vote on the bill to close the vital Strait of Hormuz shipping lane stopping oil supplies to Europe. The story begins when Sampek and Engtay start to like each other and are rejoicing and dancing. But this excitement does not last as their relationship does not get the consent of Engtay's parents. Sampek and Engtay go into profound sadness when they aren't able to continue their relationship. To declare their love for each other, Sampek and Engtay pin a ring on a reef on the seabed. The Chinese opera performances on land and underwater involve more than 15 players and 4 dolphins. The film is China's official submission for Best Foreign Language Film for the Academy Awards and was partially funded by loans from a state-owned bank. Bale said, "I just do what I do. What happens after I'm wrapped is always out of my hands. It doesn't matter which country that's in, which scenes get chosen, which scenes get cut, that has nothing to do with me." Bale said he was excited to be able to work with Zhang on the film. He said, "I have a great sense of adventure, and whatever adventure I can take out of moviemaking, I'm going to.
