LIVE - The Secret About Joy - Spilling the Beans
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 03:04:14 12/28/11
2011-12-23 2nd journal, Mayan day 4 Cib/Wisdom Complementary Text (which is quite different, hint hint) http://www.scribd.com/doc/76625249 Intro: Doing something different with this one – another experiment. The LIVE journal was done days ago, and I've forgotten what it said – so I'm just going to go on the title, and see what comes thru, here. They're not really connected that well, these days, anyhow. So, what the heck. Joy, deep internal, accessible joy, is indeed a well kept secret. Most of us are so well conditioned (read that “programmed”) that we don't even feel we deserve to have ever-present joy. It's even a bizarre idea to some. I find that rather sad. So, how about you? Do you feel you deserve joy? What do you think is your lot in life? What sense of “fair” or fairness do you go around with? Do you look down on humans, in general – or do you love them? Some are actually brought up to believe the race deserves to be wiped out – that it's a blot on the galaxy, and unworthy of continuance. Well, that sort of tune will be piped into 2012, I'm certain. For many, that's the unknown (subconscious) rationale that makes them ready for some sort of “prophesied” disaster coming along, quite naturally, to blow us up. Look inside, there. How much of that sort of programming did you pick up? Joy is your natural state. Left alone, unbothered by any sort of outside or alien influence, mankind is actually a wonderful bunch. We naturally gravitate toward peace and joy – and getting along – giving self and others respect. Now, there are few of us on the planet, these days, who are aware of that. Mankind has been controlled, contorted, and tampered with for many thousands of years. We don't know what we're like, left to our own devices simply because we haven't been for such a long time...

For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me A Chinese human rights lawyer has been given the 2011 Human Rights Defenders Tulip award from the Dutch government. She is being recognized for years of fighting the forced demolition of people's homes while enduring multiple arrests and torture that left her permanently disabled. On Thursday, the Dutch government announced that the recipient of the 2011 Human Rights Defenders Tulip award is Chinese human rights lawyer Ni Yulan. The award is normally presented on December 10, which is International Human Rights Day. However, the announcement was delayed since Ni had been detained and was awaiting trial, and her family feared for her safety. Ni has been arrested and tortured several times for helping Chinese citizens fight forced evictions and the demolitions of their homes. She was banned from practicing law, and tortured while detained... leaving her permanently disabled. She now requires the use of crutches or a wheelchair to get around. [Ni Yulan, Human Rights Lawyer]: "I started out with human rights defense in 2001. After the successful bid for the Olympic Games, many things started to happen. These incidents started getting worse. The number of violent evictions also rose at that time." Ni and her husband became homeless after her release from prison in April 2010. They were visited by several foreign diplomats who were concerned about her safety ... From: NTDTV Views: 3 6 ratings Time: 01:49 More in News & Politics

[LESS INFO] 17 VIEWS | ADDED 18:24:01 12/17/11
Jaime, the Press Pause Christmas Elf is here with a Top 5 list of games to get the hardcore gamer on your Christmas list.
SHOW NOTES:
5.
At number five we have L.A. Noire.
This game places you in the shoes of a cop in 1940’s Los Angeles as you solve crimes, and work your way up the ladder of the LAPD.
This game comes from Rockstar, who is well known for their gritty crime games. It features an engrossing story, and the graphics are some of the best out there.
4.
At number four is the sequel to one of 2009’s best games: Batman Arkham Asylum.
Batman Arkham City picks up a year after the events of the last game. Since then, a large section of Gotham has been sectioned off and turned into a prison for all of the worst of the worst.
The story finds Batman going into Arkham City to discover why the prison was built, and what it’s new warden, Hugo Strange is up to.
Bottom line, it’s Batman, his most famous rouge’s gallery, and a LOT of ass kicking. What more do you need. And hey...everyone wants to be batman.
3.
At number three we have a game that has been shattering sales records across the board: Modern Warfare 3. The latest in Activision’s massively successful Call of Duty series begins exactly where Moder Warfare 2 left off. You will play as several characters as you battle the forces of Russian Ultranationalist Vladimir Makarov.
If your gamer loves the thrill of shooter action, then this is the game for you. They will work their way through an intense single player story, and then they can take the battle online to test their skills against the world.
2.
At number two we have the latest in the long running Legend of Zelda series: Skyward Sword.
This story is set at one of the earliest points in this series’ long running continuity, taking place many years before the events of The Ocarina Of Time.
The game starts off in a floating city of Skyloft. Again you play as a character named Link as he sets out to save his friend Zelda from forces unknown, and have many adventures along the way.
This is the first game made especially for the Wii system, and utilizes the Wii Motion Plus for accurate controls. If your gamer loves Nintendo and the Zelda series, you can’t do wrong with this game.
1.
And last, at number one we have a game that needs no introduction. It is of course The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
There are of course millions of people who have been engrossed in the latest game in Bethesda’s long running game series.
Set 200 years after the end of the last game, you play as a “Dragonborn” as you venture out to defeat Alduin. You will travel the land of Skyrim, which is in the midst of a civil war after the assassination of it’s High King.
Your gamer will find a large open world to play in, non linear gameplay, and many quests to finish. This game will keep your gamer engrossed for hours and hours.
So if they are fans of a good RPG, then this is a definite no-brainer.
Well that will do it for our list of games for the hardcore gamer on your shopping list. We hope that this will be helpful to you, and we hope that you holidays are very special for you and yours. From our family to yours. Happy Holidays.

Confirmed Serial Adulterer Passes Alleged Serial Harasser in GOP Race
[LESS INFO] 11 VIEWS | ADDED 21:00:01 11/14/11
Here in a nutshell is the state of play in the 2012 Republican presidential sweepstakes: alleged serial sexual harasser Herman Cain is being surpassed by confirmed serial adulterer Newt Gingrich . With Mitt Romney stalled and Cain hemorrhaging support from women voters, polls last week from CBS and Marist showed the former House Speaker had surged into a virtual three-way tie at the top. By Monday, new surveys from CNN and PPP showed Newt vaulting past the fading pizza maker. Nevertheless, that development should be a discomforting prospect for a Republican Party which lost the women's vote by 13 points in 2008. As his public statements and personal life show, the thrice-married Gingrich is hardly a champion for American women.
That starts with Newt Gingrich's belief that marriage is an institution between one man and three women in rapid succession.
In 1980, Newt was separated from his first wife and former high school geometry teacher , Jackie Battley. As she lay incoherent in her hospital bed following surgery for a reoccurrence of uterine cancer, Gingrich paid her a visit to announce he wanted a divorce. As Lee Howell , a Gingrich friend and associate at whose wedding Newt was best man, described it: >
"Newt came up there with his yellow legal pad, and he had a list of things on how the divorce was going to be handled. He wanted her to sign it. She was still recovering from surgery, still sort of out of it, and he comes in with a yellow sheet of paper, handwritten, and wants her to sign it. >
Newt can handle political problems, but when it comes to personal problems, he's a disaster. He handled the divorce like he did any other political decision: You've got to be tough in this business, you've got to be hard. Once you make the decision you've got to act on it. Cut your losses and move on."
He moved on to wife number two, Marianne Ginther . But Marianne fared little better, getting dumped for Congressional staffer Callista Bisek after a six year affair even as Newt was leading the inquisition of Bill Clinton. As Vanity Fair summed it up last year: >
According to Salon, Gingrich and the former Hill staffer (23 years his junior, mind you) would frequently dine in the Supreme Court cafeteria--an unsuspectingly sordid detail. (In 1995, Vanity Fair referred to Bisek as Gingrich's "frequent breakfast companion.") Gingrich stepped down from Congress in 1998 following an ethics scandal, among other things. The two were married two years later.
Gingrich, who swapped his Baptist faith for Catholicism just in time to attack President Obama's 2009 address at Notre Dame University, later explained that his rapid fire infidelities were the actually product of his own patriotism: >
"There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate. And what I can tell you is that when I did things that were wrong, I wasn't trapped in situation ethics, I was doing things that were wrong, and yet, I was doing them."
Of course, the things Newt Gingrich was saying to American women weren't any better.
As the New York Times recounted 16 years ago, Newt suggested menstruation should keep women out of essential roles in the American military: >
"If combat means living in a ditch, females have biological problems staying in a ditch for 30 days because they get infections, and they don't have upper-body strength. I mean, some do, but they're relatively rare. On the other hand, men are basically little piglets -- you drop them in the ditch, they roll around in it, doesn't matter, you know."
And for Gingrich, the biggest "infection" of them all - liberalism - caused a young mother to murder her children.
Back in 1994, after dumping his cancer-stricken first wife but before marrying his mistress following the adulterous affair that ended his second marriage, Newt pointed the finger at Democrats for the Susan Smith affair.
It was Smith who drew Americans' initial sympathy - and subsequent scorn - for her invention of a black bogeyman to conceal her heinous crime.
On October 24th, 1994, as the New York Times recalled, Smith killed her young sons, killings for which she was eventually sentenced to life in prison: >
That night, investigators say, Mrs. Smith pulled her car to the edge of a deep lake, stepped out, put the gearshift in drive and let it roll down the boat ramp into the black water. Her two little boys, buckled snugly in their safety seats, died under the lake... >
..."I believed her, right up to the end," said Juliaette Kerhulas, of Mrs. Smith's story that a young black man had ordered her out of her burgundy 1990 Mazda on the night of Oct. 25, then driven away with 3-year-old Michael and 14-month-old Alexander in the back seat.
Ms. Kerhulas wasn't the only one who believed in her. None other than future House Speaker Newt Gingrich rushed to the defense of Smith, whose step-father ironically happened to be a prominent Republican fundraiser and member of the Christian Coalition. Even after her confession, Gingrich insisted the Smith murders showed the decay of American society under Democratic Party rule : >
Enter Newt Gingrich, who rushed into action on election eve with another reliable generic culprit: society. He said the double murder "vividly reminds every American how sick the society is getting and how much we need to change things," expediently adding that "the only way you get change is to vote Republican."
As Frank Rich recounted in August 1995: >
Asked later by Tom Brokaw to elaborate, the Speaker-to-be cited "a direct nexus between the general acceptance of violence" and "the pattern that the counterculture and Lyndon Johnson's Great Society began in the late 60's."
Of course, the 1960's also happened to be the time when the women's movement rose to prominence. The victories it achieved for women's political equality, economic independence and reproductive rights transformed American society and helped move the nation closer to a "more perfect union."
Apparently, those epochal changes escaped Herman Cain's notice. And while Cain's is being punished in the polls for it, he is being replaced atop the GOP field by Newt Gingrich . While that may be a good thing for Tiffany's bottom line , it's a sad development for American women.

New Releases For September 13, 2011 - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 8 VIEWS | ADDED 03:32:53 09/13/11
In this week's new releases we have some guys on skates, some brutal fighters, and a little something extra.
SHOW NOTES: GAME #1:
First up is NHL 12. In this year’s edition of the popular hockey franchise, EA puts players on the ice with the goal of becoming the next legend of the ice...is that a thing? legend of the ice?
A full contact physics engine will have helmets flying and glass breaking as you fight to score. The game also features a “Be a GM” mode that lets you take your favorite team and guide them to victory. And as always, the game a a multitude of local and online multiplayer to give hockey fans hours of fun.
So strap on your gear, hit the ice, and skate your way to the top. but not really, like just in the game. like you'll be strapping on the gear in the game. i mean you could go play hockey yourself too and attempt to be a legend of the ice .. but i think it would be a lot harder.
and by alot harder i mean might as well just play the game.
GAME #2:
Next up is Supremacy MMA, which brings players a different take on the bone crunching world of MMA fighting. Go head to head with some of the top fighters in MMA, including the first female fighters ever featured in a video game.
Go beyond the octagon, and prove your skills in underground fight club locations such as strip clubs, prisons and abandoned warehouses. fighting in strip clubs and prisons? they found my favorite locations to fight in!
Now this game is quite different from the UFC games that have come out BUT if you want to go OUTSIDE the ring, break some bones, and essentially go backwards from how the sport of MMA has evolved .. Supremacy is your best bet.
hey some people just wanna break some bones.
GAME #3:
And lastly today we have a double shot of awesome. On the most recent episode of our discussion show, we had on the co-founder and CEO of Gaijin games, and as luck would have it, they have two new collections for home, and on the go.
Bit.Trip Saga 3DS and Bit.Trip Complete for Wii bring together all six of the BIT.Trip games in one place. The 3DS version has given the games stunning 3D visuals, as well as new power-ups and things to avoid. The Wii version has 120 new difficulty challenges and levels. You’ll also be able to listen to chill new remixes and demos of all of the music in the game.
So if you have had any experience with the BIT.TRIP series, and would like to get it all in one place, then the only question for you is: Play at home, or on the go.
Cause they have...y’know...both options covered.
That will do it for your daily dose of Press Pause. Be sure to check out our live discussion show today over at twitch.tv/presspause at 12 pm pacific. You can also find fully edited episodes over at our Youtube channel: youtube.com/presspausemevio .
