For more news visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ me.lt A rare sight in the skies for many around the world Saturday night. A complete lunar eclipse was visible from most parts of the world, except South America. And in China and Japan, people took advantage of the opportunity to get outside for the spectacle. On Saturday evening, the moon disappeared briefly for China and Japan. Many spectators went out to witness the lunar eclipse, said to be the best in a decade. In Beijing, the moon began moving into the Earth's shadow around 7:30 at night. [Beijing Resident]: "I've known for days that the lunar eclipse was going to take place today. They said the eclipse would start from 7:30pm and go to 9:30pm. The moon hasn't been fully blocked yet, but it will be totally blocked soon. It's very beautiful. I am in a very good mood. Everyone is happy." [Li Ting-Ting, Beijing Resident]: "This is the first time I've see a complete lunar eclipse. I am very excited and happy. It's so beautiful." Residents in Tokyo were also out, watching the disappearing moon. [Satoshi Otsuka, 12-Years-Old]: "It's mysterious and intriguing because the shape of the moon keeps changing." [Hitoshi Fukazawa, Watching the Eclipse]: "I feel a little bit sad looking at the moon slowing disappearing." The eclipse lasted over 3 hours, with 52 minutes of total eclipse. The Most Played of 2011 and a Doctor Who Game - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 19 VIEWS | ADDED 04:00:00 12/12/11
The most played game of the year is announced and Whovian gamers are in for a treat.
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
Raptr, which is a popular game tracking service, recently announced a list of the top performing games of the year. This list was determined by how many hours the members of it’s game community put into the games.
Some of the results that came out were that Modern Warfare 3 was the most played shooter, and Batman: Arkham City was the most played open-world game. And in an announcement that surprises almost no one, the most played game overall this year is none other than a little game called The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Weird, right. I didn’t know there WERE any other games this year.
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/09/skyrim-is-2011s-most-played-game-according-to-raptr/#continued
Story 2:
So there are millions of fans of the long running BBC show Doctor Who. Well starting early next year, they will be able to continue the adventures of The Doctor in a new series of downloadable games that will coming to PC, PS3, and the upcoming PS Vita.
The first game in the series, called “Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock”, will feature The Doctor and fan favorite River Song as they again have to save the Earth from some unknown danger.
The game is being developed by Supermassive Games, who has done work on many levels for Little Big Planet. The story is being written by BBC Wales, who produce the show, and Matt Smith and Alex Kingston are on board to voice their characters. No pricing has been announced yet.
If you just can’t get enough Doctor Who, make sure to keep an eye out for that blue Police Box.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication
[LESS INFO] 1 VIEWS | ADDED 23:00:00 11/27/11
TEDxRotterdam - Richard Straver - Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication Leonardo DaVinci is alleged to have said: 'simplicity is the ultimate sophistication'. And indeed, his sculptures look so smooth and natural, they appear to have just shaken off the stone to step out of it. Nothing reminisces the endless hard working hours it obviously took too make them. The truly good things on this earth seem to just come into existence effortless. Richard Straver is convinced that he has developed one of these really good things: something that appears so simple, you and I should have thought of it our selves. On TEDxRotterdam Richard Straver reveals this unique project. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

New Releases for October 4, 2011 - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 15 VIEWS | ADDED 23:15:53 10/03/11
Today’s new releases features an apocalyptic wasteland, a lost soul, some basketball, and a wall crawler. Here’s a hint...it’s Spiderman.
SHOW NOTES:
GAME #1:
First up is the brand new first person shooter from from id Software, which im buying day one. Rage takes place in a not too distant future where a asteroid impacted the Earth, leaving behind a world that has been devastated. Your character will travel this vast wasteland, facing hordes of gangs, mutants, and the oppressive governmental Authority. Featuring id’s all new idTech 5 engine that will feature stunning visuals (although at a larger file size, as we mentioned last Wednesday). The game looks stunning, and the expanded gameplay .. vehicle stuff and not just first person .. seems rad.
So suit up and head out into the wasteland with me - and lets get our Rage on. theres something dirty there .. like right almost there. rage on ..? never mind.
GAME #2:
Next up is Dark Souls. The spiritual sequel to 2009’s Demon Souls will again challenge players with a world where you have lost your soul, and go on a quest to get it back.
The 60 hour game features a seamless world, with unforgiving and punishing gameplay, flexible character development, and online player interaction. AND yes .. its harder.
So if you want to give up a chunk of your life to an addictive and torturous game...Dark Souls is a safe bet.
GAME #3:
2K Sports is know for their basketball series, and this year’s version is a celebration of the greatest NBA players of all time. It will feature tons of legendary players as well some very cool visual affects when playing in different eras. Graining and black and white footage for older time periods is a way cool addition. 2K12 will aslo feature a new control mechanic that gives more ball control, and you’ll be able to shoot, pass, steal, dribble and dunk more effectively. I tried this and shooting with the right stick actually felt damn good.
Listen .. 2K should be making the madden games and this game is the reason. The stadiums, audience, montages, player interactions and physics. This is how sports games should be made.
[looking at camera] EA, I'm looking at you.
GAME #4:
And lastly today we have a brand new Spiderman game from the same developers who created the well received Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions.
Like that game, Spiderman: Edge of Time takes place in two different times, featuring the modern day Amazing Spiderman, and the distant future Spiderman 2099.
The game will take place over both times, as one man goes back to the past, which will create a future dystopia, and lead to the death of Peter Parker. The game features a cause and effect gameplay system where the actions in one time will affect the other and vice versa.
If you are a fan of Spiderman, and enjoyed Shattered Dimensions, then this game sounds like it should scratch your superhero itch. and also .. have you pondering future dystopia.
I wonder if we could cause one? Y’know a future dystopia. You wanna try...after the show?
That will do it for your daily dose of press pause, be sure to check out our live discussion show at twitch.tv/presspause tomorrow at 12 pm pacific. You can also find fully edited episodes over at our Youtube channel: youtube.com/presspausemevio .

Space Station Continues Tropical Storms Watch
Aboard the International Space Station, external and crew-tended cameras captured new views of Hurricane Katia and Tropical Storm Nate on September 9, 2011. The video of strengthening Tropical Storm Nate from 230 miles above the Earth was acquired at 10:46 am Eastern time as the system began a slow, drifting northwestward motion over the Bay of Campeche in the southern Gulf of Mexico with winds of 65 miles an hour. Nate was expected to strengthen into a hurricane by September 10 before moving west or southwest to make landfall along the south central Mexican coastline. The view of Katia was recorded a few minutes later at 10:54 am Eastern time as the hurricane sped northeastward over the open Atlantic with winds of 85 miles an hour, posing no threat to the United States. The World's First Sex Robot! ROXXXXXXXY
[LESS INFO] 19 VIEWS | ADDED 13:10:35 08/10/11
"http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-10432521-71.html http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshhP85lDYZ92p4tL695 I am moved beyond earthly distractions to discover that the world's most practical intellects, as we first told you earlier Monday, have conjured up a fully functioning sex robot. On its Web site, True Companion declares quite forcefully that Roxxy ""knows your name, your likes and dislikes, can carry on a discussion, and expresses her love to you and be your loving friend. She can talk to you, listen to you, and feel your touch."" I can feel so many of you, frustrated with your current emotional and pheromonal situation, already logging on to this site (please be of age. I'd hate to see you get into trouble) before I have given you any more details. But you need to know more details. Roxxxy has dark hair. She wears a negligee. And her skin allegedly feels like, well, skin. Wait, wait. She is 5-foot, 7-inches tall, weighs 120 pounds, and has five personalities. Yes, she is just like that girl who ignored your deft humor in Bar Italia last Friday, but better. Because Roxxxy is customizable. If you don't like dark hair, you can make her blond, or ginger or, please try this, bald. You can change her race and even the dimensions of her cleavage. The Telegraph quoted Douglas Hines, Roxxxy's Dr. Frankenstein, as saying, ""She can't vacuum, she can't cook but she can do almost anything else if you know what I mean."" Do you know what he means? I fear I do. I fear you do. This could mean the end of friending co-workers on Facebook. This could mean the end of wanting to make any of your information public on Facebook ever again. This could mean the end of speed-dating and dinners with your in-laws. This could mean the end of sexual friction as we know it. Roxxxy can talk cars, sports, and other fetishes. And she can move like a person but can't run away. For those of you with a particularly technical approach to life, she is also Wi-Fi capable and has 24-hour tech support. It's like being able to get hold of your sex therapist 24 hours a day. Who wouldn't want that? And do I have to mention that she's always turned on and can, um, show it? No, I do not. But it's perhaps worth informing you that she costs between $7,000 and $9,000, depending on the level of sophisticated chat you might require. I only mention this so that you know exactly how much you need to save to enjoy the perfect at-oneness that Jane Austen introduced you to when you were 12. I know that there will be a significant number of you who would like to make the acquaintance of a male version of Roxxxy. He is, according to TrueCompanion.com, in the works. He will be called Rocky and will be more bountifully endowed than John C. Holmes or Harvard. Actually I don't know that last part for sure, but who could possibly be surprised if he were? And who could possibly be surprised if males and females of the species were not soon wandering into the office in moods far removed from those currently exhibited regularly, especially on Mondays?"
