The 360 is now top dog and winter is coming to your game device. SHOW NOTES: Story 1: The Xbox 360 has been PRETTY dominant this console cycle, and now it has finally become the top selling console IN THE WORLD!!!! According to a story by our friends over at Destrutcoid, for the last quarter of the year, Microsoft sold 8.2 million Xbox consoles. That easily beats Sony’s total of 6.5 million and Nintendo’s 5.6 million. Total sales for the year are a bit closer, with Microsoft just edging out Sony with the 360 selling 14.9 million to the PS3’s 14.1. Now to put that in perspective though. If you look at lifetime sales, Nintendo is still the top dog with 95 million Wiis sold. But with Wii sales slowing down, Nintendo releasing the Wii U later this year, and new consoles from Sony and Microsoft STILL a few years away. Well now it seems that fans of the George R. R. Martin fantasy series have something else to occupy their time. Atlus games has announced that it will be releasing their Game of Thrones RPG on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on May 15th. The game is being developed by Cyanide Studio, and will feature the town of Riverspring, which is dealing with the death of Lord Sarwyck. The game looks to have you playing as several different characters across parallel storylines as you deal with a threat to the kingdom of Westeros. The game will drop about a month after the second season of the TV show starts. Today we’re gonna focus on toning and firming your arms---especially this back of the arm area, the notoriously difficult to tighten triceps. Now, I know and I totally understand most women don’t want bulging biceps and body builder arms---and for this reason a large percentage of women steer clear of the weights and hit the cardio equipment instead. ----But, here’s the deal, if you’re over about age 30---which I am! ---it is almost completely impossible to have toned arms unless you do some sort of resistance training. --- Now the resistance training I’m encouraging doesn’t have to be super hard-core with way heavy weights, but it does have to be challenging enough so that you feel the burn and so you are actually fatiguing your muscles.---For maximum results, you also want to make sure you’re working your muscles in a variety of ways using a variety of exercise training techniques. ----In addition, you also want to consider a training technique called “DROP-SETS” where you do 1 exercise—such as overhead presses---with a moderately heavy weight for 10-12 reps and then you “drop” down to a lighter weight and repeat the same exercise for 20-30 reps without resting between sets. Here are a few examples of some exercises you can do at home: 1. Incorporating SUPER-SLOW training---try doing single arm lat rows with tricep extension (put other hand on stability ball) 2. For upper body endurance try HIGHER REP TRAINING doing boxing with light weights AND medicine ball throws 3. For sheer strength---nothing beats the push-up! Try a variety of tempos to increase intensity 4. Drop Set---do overhead press with 7 pounds and then drop down to 5 pounds Now of course you can’t just do arm exercises and get fabulous arms if you also aren’t following a healthful diet.
