TWC9: 4 Years of TWC9, Kinect SDK, C++, & more
[LESS INFO] 34 VIEWS | ADDED 05:47:06 02/04/12
On our four year anniversary of This Week on Channel 9, we wanted to give a special thank you to all of our viewers for supporting and watching us over the years. Amusingly, our first show aired Feb 1, 2008 without a name and Niners Ian & ChadK suggesting the name This Week on Channel 9. Thank you all, we wouldn't be here without you.
Production Note : We know the audio is a little rough/overdriven in places and we're going to try to see if there's anything we can do post-production to fix it. Sorry about that!
To celebrate this week, Martin Woodward joins us to recap the week's news, including:
* [0:32] TWC9's 4th Anniversary! First TWC9 Show in 2008, Brian Keller and Dan Fernandez: Name this Show!

John Cho and Kal Penn reprise their title roles in "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas," which picks up six years after their last adventure.
Following years of growing apart, Harold Lee (Cho) and Kumar Patel (Penn) have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar's door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold's house ends with the "high grade" contents—and Harold's father-in-law's prize Christmas tree—going up in smoke. With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean. Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven—and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high.
The 2004 cult hit "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" launched the franchise, followed by "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay." The third installment is the first to highlight the guys' hilarious mishaps in 3D.
It would not be a "Harold & Kumar" film without Neil Patrick Harris, who returns along with Paula Garces (TV's "Defying Gravity") as Maria; Danneel Harris ("The Roommate") as Vanessa; Eddie Kaye Thomas (the "American Pie" movies) as Rosenberg; David Krumholtz ("Mr. Popper's Penguins") as Goldstein; and Bobby Lee ("Pineapple Express") as Kenneth Park.
Joining the ensemble are Tom Lennon ("I Love You Man") as Harold's new best friend, Todd; Amir Blumenfeld (TV's "Pranked") as Kumar's new best friend Adrian; Danny Trejo ("Machete") as Harold's father-in-law; and Elias Koteas ("Shutter Island") as Ukranian mob boss Sergei Katsov. Rounding out the cast are Patton Oswalt ("The Informant!"), Richard Riehle ("Halloween II"), Jordan Hinson (TV's "Eureka"), John Hoogenakker ("Contagion"), Jake Johnson ("No Strings Attached"), Yasen Payankov ("Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon") and David Burtka (TV's "How I Met Your Mother").
Todd Strauss-Schulson helmed the film, marking his major feature film directorial debut. Academy Award® winner Greg Shapiro ("The Hurt Locker") returns as producer, and Mandate President Nathan Kahane, Nicole Brown, Richard Brener, Michael Disco, and Samuel J. Brown are executive producers. The screenplay is by Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg who wrote the previous two movies. They also serve as co-producers, along with Kelli Konop and Jonathan McCoy.
The behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Michael Barrett, production designer Rusty Smith, editor Eric Kissack, costume designer Mary Claire Hannan and composer William Ross.
New Line Cinema presents, in association with Mandate Pictures, a Kingsgate Films Production, "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas." It will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Steven Samblis interviews Tom Lennon From "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas".

Steven Samblis interviews Neil Patrick Harris From "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas".

The first-quarter curriculum for April 15: --Scott and Mack are joined by MTSU head men's basketball coach Kermit Davis. They discuss new recruits like forward Jacquez Rozier and the potential for other newcomers to change the team's offensive focus. --Scott asks the coach to compare the size of next year's roster to any other he's coached over his career. --New assistant coach Monte Towe is brought up for discussion, and Coach Davis breaks down what Towe's experience will bring to the staff. --Davis discusses how this season will resonate in his mind, noting missed opportunities and the youth of the squad. --Coach Davis discusses a NCAA-or-nothing mentality among the fan base and how they need to put less stock in what they read online. --Once the coach is off the line, Scott and Mack stroll into baseball talk. Josh Hamilton's broken arm is the Injury of the Week, and the Prof and the Intern disagree on who's to blame for the overaggressive play. --Finally, the discussion concludes with rankings of the top up-the-middle groups in baseball. Scott has a surprising reaction to the Braves being in the conversation, and Mack's equally surprising about Boston being out of the top 9. Featured music: "The Afterlife" by Paul Simon. Stick around at the end for a brief snippet of the track, and help the show out by purchasing the full download if you like it. Go to starr-rated.blogspot.com for links to buy.
