Rock n Roll TV ... the music news for you from me. Hosted by Share Ross. This episode - Puddle of Mud's Wes Scantlin arrested; Black Sabbath reunion not quite the same; Jack White solo album and no to Newt.
Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin was arrested last month after police discovered narcotics on him. He was pulled over for a traffic violation, the cops found pills and some sort of powdery substance in his possession. Wes seems to be having a rough time of things. He owes about $45,000 in back taxes to the feds and an additional $17,000 to the State of California and is in the process of getting divorced from his super hot wife.
The Black Sabbath reunion is making headlines again. Drummer Bill Ward issued a public statement advising fans that he will not participate in the band's reunion unless he is presented with an agreement that reflects his contributions to the group's success and longevity. Basically… he said he ain't getting what he feels is a fair share of the Sabbath money pie and that he deserves better than what the band management have offered him. The other three members have responded publicly saying.. they are sorry to hear he feels that way… the door is open.. but they are carrying on without him with Rick Rubin in Birmingham while guitarist tony Iommi is also battling cancer.

Per Eddie's request, The Foundation will distribute the guitars to music programs in public schools throughout Los Angeles where there are not enough instruments to meet the demand of the students.
"If I can help a kid discover a liking, or even a passion for music in their life, then that's a wonderful thing. Music has provided a good life for me and hopefully it can help make life better for others with this donation."
Kid Rock apologized for lighting up a cigar at a smoke free Travis Tritt show in Detroit and on the opposite coin, Rihanna was photographed puffing on a suspicious looking cigarette in Hawaii and went on Twitter to brag about its cannabis content. The Teacher with a Thousand Brains

TEDxManhattanBeach - Hall Davidson - The Teacher with a Thousand Brains Talk title: The Teacher with a Thousand Brains We're used to the idea of grinding up organic matter to make paper, printing on that paper using ink, and binding books to deliver coded information in two dimensions. With the dawn of new technologies like tablets, we're inevitably moving "from trees to bits." This is more than a shift in medium; it's a shift in thinking. When we look at printed words, our brains take time to decode the squiggles on the page - it's a neurological balancing act. We're comfortable with the idea of books made from paper. However, new technologies allow us to teach kids in the way their brains are wired to learn, giving them the potential to learn more, and much faster. Hall Davidson Director, Discovery Channel Network Educator, has been a teacher since 1971. He left the classroom to teach math on television in an Emmy-award winning program. He's produced a PBS television series on education, technology, parenting and theater, contributed articles to national education publications, co-authored TechWorks, an internationally distributed classroom technology kit, and founded Kitzu.org, a free online kit that encourages project-based learning using media. In 2011, Hall received the prestigious "Make IT Happen" award for his innovation, leadership and commitment to educational technology. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to

So why does the typical woman have less than half of the wealth of the typical man? How is it that never-married women have only 2% as much wealth as similarly situated men? Drawing on the most comprehensive data on wealth and on in-depth interviews, Dr. Chang shows how differences in earnings, in saving and investing, and, most important, the demands of caregiving all contribute to the gender wealth gap. She argues that the current focus on equal pay and family-friendly workplace policies will not ultimately change or eliminate wealth inequalities. Highlights with Sen. Hatch and Elder Oaks
US Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, today participated in a Finance Committee hearing on charitable giving with Elder Dallin Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Hatch invited Elder Oaks to testify at today's hearing due to his position within the LDS church and the church's long and rich history of giving to those in need throughout America and the world. Today's hearing on charitable giving is part of a series of hearings the Senate Finance Committee has been convening as a part of working towards reforming America's tax code. At the hearing, Hatch said that "[t]he charitable deduction begins with the first dollar given. We should rejoice that we live in a country where people of all income groups give generously to charity." Hatch added that the charitable giving deduction is "the only deduction that encourages you not to spend or invest your income, but to give it away," and concluded that "[w]e curtail the charitable tax deduction at our peril." Elder Oaks spoke of the importance of the charitable deduction not in a religious or political impact but in greater context. Oaks said that "[t]he charitable deduction is vital to the private sector that is unique to America." The tax code currently encourages charitable contributions, however President Obama has suggested that people earning over $250000 a year shouldn't be able to making charitable deductions. Hatch ... Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith knows people think he looks like movie star Will Ferrell but says he doesn't see the likeness himself. But he admits that sometimes he finds it easier to allow people who've mistaken him for Ferrell to continue in their belief. He explains that typically, other drummers or fans of the band will come up to him and ask to have their photo taken with him. Then someone else walks up and says, "Will Ferrell?" Chad says, "No." then they'll be like… "You're lyin' man. I just saw you taking pictures with that dude. Why do you have to be like that?" Chad says he and his doppelganger only met once and Will looked him up and down and said, "You're very handsome" and walked away.
