[LESS INFO] 25 VIEWS | ADDED 23:47:29 01/25/12

In Q4 2010, smartphone shipments overtook those of PCs for the first time.Throughout 2011, we saw traffic from non-PC devices in the U.S. grow to seven percent of all digital traffic, fueled by the adoption of tablets. And last month, PayPal data revealed a four-fold (371 percent) increase in the number of customers shopping through mobile devices on Black Friday.
Accordingly, the conversation among marketers has shifted from anticipating the impact of mobile technology to reacting to the ways by which the mobile population is challenging traditional norms governing consumer behavior.
In January, L2 will release its first Prestige 100: Mobile IQ Index, profiling the mobile efforts of 100 leading brands across five distinct industries: Beauty and Cosmetics, Fashion, Hospitality, Luxury Retail, and Watches and Jewelry.
In this Clinic, we will explore the most critical trends in the mobile space. Topics will include implementation of mobile payment systems, augmented consumerism, mobile advertising, the impact of HTML5, and associated case studies.

I Love Tim Tebow

Welcome to RideThePine.com
I love Tim Tebow . There I said it. I love the fact that he doesn’t have the talent or skills of other NFL players but finds a way to win. I love that he beat the Pittsburgh Steelers , one of the most evil teams on and off the field in recent memories. I love the fact that people hate Tim Tebow because of his religious beliefs but seem to forget the Ben Roethlisberger was accused of sexual assault, twice. I love that this ref threw up the shocker right before overtime. I love that the NFL on CBS crew all Tebowed at the end of their post game show because it gave us a few moments of silence instead of listening to Shannon Sharpe butcher the english language. I love that Big Ben bought this hat thinking he was going to look so cool in the post game press conference , you don’t.
Have you ever had one of those days at the office, where nothing seems to go right? [RideThePine.com - Oh My Goodness Gracious - Bowler FAILS at being a Bowler] Someone better calm down that announcer before he yells out “gosh darn.”
And I thought being a professional bowler was embarrassing enough.

Episode 16: Random Randomness Pt. 2
[LESS INFO] 24 VIEWS | ADDED 08:28:24 11/13/11
Sometimes in Youth Ministry… things don’t go according to plan. In this episode (Episode 16) – we saw this first hand. Originally, the plan was to have Johnny Scott, from CIY, join us. Unfortunately, technology wasn’t our friend, and so – on the fly – we changed things up. We asked our LIVE audience to send in their questions – and they did.
Kurt shared about his recent vacation and shared some valuable examples of important it is to ‘disconnect’ at times. This led into a great discussion (between Jake and Kurt as well as in the LIVE chat) about answering the question “What does it take to shut off your Youth Pastor mind.”
We discovered that there are almost two answers to this question.
1. Can you/should you really turn off your ‘youth pastor’ mind.
2. Do you ever want to?
Another discovery that he experienced while on vacation was asking the question “What things are there in Youth Ministry that we shouldn’t let people see ‘behind the curtain.’”
There was more talk and excitement for the upcoming Simply Youth Ministry Conference. In this discussion, there was sharing of their favorite Conference moments, resources that they use and who would win in a match; Rambo, The Terminator, Andy Brazelton or Kami Gilmour. You’ll have to watch to see who they think would win.
Want to join in the conversation? Follow Kurt or Jake on Twitter to see when the next LIVE Show is (Friday’s at 12:00 EST/9:00 PST.) You can head over here to watch it LIVE. Have a question or two you want to ask?? Send in your questions to symshow@gmail.com
See you soon..

How To Be Even More Awesome at Your Job - A Velocity Online Conference Session
Kate Matsudaira VP Engineering, SEOMoz How To Be Even More Awesome at Your Job: When it comes to our careers, most of us spend the majority of our waking moments working. And all of us want to do well at our jobs; and part of that means focusing on continuing to improve our technical skills. However to be really awesome, it is not enough to be an amazing technologist, you also have to master your soft skills (you know, the ones that involve interacting with something besides your computer). This talk will cover ways to improve soft skills, like communication and leadership, which likely could use some focused attention. The audience will come away with new ideas on how to be better versions of themselves -- in their work and life, with tips on how to manage up and improve their career trajectory, how to listen and communicate more effectively, how to be a great teammate, and how to lead -- even from the trenches without authority.
