www.Warholian.com I spent a short afternoon with my friend Mark Warren Jacques to talk about his upcoming show at Gallery Hijinks titled "I'm Here Now". Join me as I interview mark about what influences his art and attempt to find out what "I'm Here Now" even means. Music written, preformed and recorded by Mark Warren Jacques. www.markwarrenjacques.com www.galleryhijinks.com www.lumbroso.com Extra special love to Tylor Bohlman (twistedarrows.com) for his help. Shout-outs to Jesse Chandler, The Gallery Hijinks Ladies, Casey Gray (caseygray.com), David Bayus (davidbayus.com) and The New Brohemians. - Joe Lumbroso for Warholian.com More info on the show: Mark Warren Jacques—I’m Here Now October 16th 2010 to November 15th 2010 Opening: October 16th 2010, 6-10pm Gallery Hijinks presents I’m Here Now, a solo exhibition of new paintings and installation by Mark Warren Jacques. Please join us for the opening reception on October 16th, 2010 from 6-10pm. Mark Warren Jacques admittedly has an amorous disposition and this time he’s fallen in love with San Francisco. While embracing different cultures, ideals and perspectives he’s under- gone a metamorphosis in his painting, both conceptually and symbolically. I’m Here Now introduces a new collection of works inspired and created from this embraced artistic journey. Clean, fluid lines juxtaposed with bold geometric shapes may have been the artists most evident trait until now. This collection unveils a new direction in concept and theory for Jacques, incorporating form, figures and anatomy with his existing spectrum of symmetrical and organic shapes, unearthing a new dialogue for the viewer. Introspection of the mind, body and soul are divulged figuratively while remaining abstract. Bright colors cluster together with patterns and stark edges as elements of the natural world take form with bare boned foliage and starry constellations. This exhibition plays as both a cycle of self-assessment for the artist as well as a bold statement of place and time, Here - Now. Jacques has exhibited in galleries and art fairs across the U.S. and Canada including Aqua Art Miami, White Walls S.F., Together Gallery PDX, Flat Color Seattle and Cinders Gallery NYC to name a few. His work has been featured in Tokion Magazine, D Argentina, The Open Day Book, and Surfing Magazine amongst other publications. I’m Here Now will be on view October 16th through November 15th, 2010 and is open to the public.

Trout In the Classroom 2010
An inside look at the Trout Unlimited North (San Francisco) Bay Chapter's highly successful Trout in the Class program for 2010. 49 Marin County 1st through 4th grade classes received 30 trout eggs for each class. TIC is designed to teach young people to have an appreciation of conservation and the need to protect the environment. The program is targeted to grades K-12 with the majority in the elementary grades. NBTU provides each classroom with coldwater aquariums, thanks to a generous grant from the Marin Community Foundation. The CA. Dept. of Fish & Game provides trout eggs, Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD) helps with teacher training and fry releases and NBTU assists in the raising of them for their release as fry. The teachers develop a curriculum that teaches about the life cycle of the fish, the environment they will need to survive, and the food that they eat. Students learn a great deal about trout and salmon, their habitat, their predators, and the need for clean, cold watersheds. If you are interested in supporting this classroom activity, and have 20 hours to spare between December and March, please contact Chuck Schultz at 415.472.5837, or imayrespond@netzero.com or outside of Marin contact Ethan Rotman, Classroom Aquarium Education Program Coordinator, San Francisco Bay Area, California Fish and Game www.classroomaquarium.org From: TroutUnlimitedNatl Views: 265 1 ratings Time: 09:57 More in Education

Cycling through Laos was educational because it taught us about the inequalities in the world. In much of Southeast Asia, poverty is the norm. As you watch this video we ride past traditional houses with no source of clean drinking water or protection from malaria carrying mosquitoes. Living in these impoverished conditions did not stop the poor children from greeting us as we rode by. Several scenes of this video were filmed from the seat of my touring bike while I was riding one handed and looking through the camera. Google CEO Eric Schmidt discusses new approaches to solar and wind power generation, central to the company's plan for clean energy reform.
-----
Would "Drill, Baby, Drill" be part of Google's vision for green energy? Yes, but not drilling for oil.
CEO Schmidt says punching down into the Earth to capture natural and clean geothermal energy could help move the United States away from its dependence on petroleum. Google's new energy plan also calls for a bold move into solar and wind power.
It would cost $2.7 trillion through 2030. However, Schmidt says it would generate $2.1 trillion in energy savings. It would also create hundreds of thousands of jobs. And help fight global warming - The Commonwealth Club of California
Eric Emerson Schmidt, Ph.D is chairman and CEO of Google, Inc. and a member of the board of directors of Apple, Inc. He also sits on the Princeton University board of trustees.
