For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me As election day fast approaches in Taiwan, the two presidential candidates are targeting young voters and attempting to appeal to their concerns. And the issues are plain: they want good jobs and better wages. For young voters, these immediate economic concerns are above the hot button issue of cross-strait relations with China. With Taiwan's presidential election on Saturday, the race between opposition candidate Tsai Ing-wen and incumbent Ma Ying-jeou is neck-and-neck. The camps of the two candidates are furiously competing for the votes of a key demographic%mdashyoung, first-time voters aged 20 to 24. Political debate in Taiwan has traditionally been dominated by the question of Taiwan's identity and relations with Mainland China. The Chinese Communist Party sees the self-ruled Taiwan as a renegade province that should be reunited with the Mainland by force if necessary. But for young Taiwanese voters, it's jobs and wages at the top of their list of concerns. [You Chieh-an, Tsai-Ing-wen Supporter]: "I think the biggest problem is unemployment. I graduated two to three years ago, and most of my university classmates are either jobless, or working for low wages. This is why I think we could give the chance to a new president." Unemployment for this group is roughly at 13 percent, which is way above the national average of just four percent. And salaries for many ... Protests Against Online Shopping Site Taobao
For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ me.lt In Zhejiang Province, hundreds of Chinese merchants are protesting against the largest online shopping website, Taobao. The site is similar to eBay, and sellers have to buy annual membership to sell their goods. But according to protestors, the latest annual fee has jumped by 10 times. Hundreds of sellers from China's largest online shopping website, Taobao, protest outside the firm's Hangzhou offices on Wednesday. They're calling for the abolition of the website's feedback system and a large hike in annual fees. Many protesters wear facemasks to conceal their identity, while others put stickers that said "endurance" on their clothes. One man says he can't afford the website's new annual membership fee for merchants. [no titlebar, unidentified protestor]: "They are too tyrannical. They say whatever they like and never care about how we feel. They increase the fee whenever they like. Last year the fee was $2500 US dollars before they raised the price, and we could still support them. But now they suddenly raised it by ten times to $25000 US dollars. Even if we sell blood, we won't be able to afford it." Taobao said in an online post the demand to abolish the feedback system will lead to the "destruction" of China's e-commerce industry. They say the feedback system allows buyers to provide feedback on products and services purchased online. From: NTDTV Views: 90 2 ratings Time: 01:32 More in People & Blogs

It shows people rushing to the aid of a pregnant woman. But Netizens have identified those 'Good Samaritans,' and even the car that was used to take the woman to a hospital, as belonging to online promotions company, Erma Shanghai. The state-run Shanghai Daily investigated and found the the pregnant woman did not match any of the patients registered at the hospital where she was supposedly admitted . The publicity stunt, as some are calling it, comes just on the heels of the widely discussed hit-and-run case of Wang Yue, a two-year-old girl who died last Friday. A director at th``e company, Wang Yang, denied the incident was staged and claimed their employees just happened to be at the right place at the right time. The company later admitted the employees had faked their identities in the video, but still claims the incident is true.
