Welcome to CRWE Newswire News Update, I'm Christina Collins In Missouri last year, a 19-year-old pickup truck driver involved in a deadly highway pileup, and was found to have sent and received a total of 11 texts in the 11 minutes immediately before the accident. The driver sent six texts and received five, with the last text right before his pickup, moving at the speed of 55 mph, slams into the back of a tractor truck, beginning a chain collision. The pickup was rear-ended by a school bus, which in turn was rammed by a second school bus. The pickup driver and a 15-year-old student on one of the school buses were killed with thirty-eight other people were injured in the Aug. 5, 2010 accident in Missouri. According to a survey of more than 6,000 drivers by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly two out of 10 drivers overall, and half of drivers between 21 and 24, say they have typed messages or emailed from the driver's seat. And oddly enough many drivers don't think it's dangerous when they do it, only when others do. Last year on America's streets and highways, nearly 1 in every 100 car drivers was texting, emailing, surfing the Web or otherwise using a handheld electronic device. Also in the news, Chinese police have arrested a man who hired two strippers to perform at his son's wedding after the performance was mobbed by villagers. Zhang Cheng had originally wanted a band to play at the nuptials, but was then advised he could get performers whose show would have special features. So after watching the show, Zhang decided it would be appropriate for his son's wedding and requested two strippers for the event. With only five minutes passing when hundreds of villagers in the conservative community were swarming to the venue, trying to catch a glimpse. Zhang was arrested the next day with no information on what charge.
