Lost Planet getting an unexpected spinoff and Borderlands 2 getting the special edition treatment.

Story 1:
News came out on Wednesday that Capcom’s Lost Planet series would be getting a spinoff game, and it’s not what anyone was expecting.
The game, called E.X. Troopers, is an action shooter that will be coming to the PS3, and oddly enough the 3DS.
It has a visual style that looks nothing like the main games in the series, as this one has a cell-shaded anime style.
According to the story on Andriasang, EX Troopers tells of the fight between the snow pirates and Akrid aliens on EDN-3rd. The game will have a school feel, and you will play as Bren Turner, a young man who has come to the academy.
Along with the anime styled visuals, the game will also use manga panel cutscenes, and will have a theme song from well known JPOP star May’n
I’m a little curious as to who this game is being made for. I mean the type of game will probably do well in Japan, but I can’t think that fans of the original Lost Planet games will find this all that appealing.

Story 2:
Borderlands will be making its way to stores this September, and 2K games have announced the special editions of the games to really put the hurt on your wallet.
There will be two different special editions. First is the Deluxe Vault Hunter edition that will run $100 and feature:
A Marcus Kincaid bobblehead doll
The Inside the Vault: The Art & Design of Borderlands 2 book.
A collectable sticker set, a map of in-game world Pandora
A digital comic download code, and downloadable in-game content.
For an extra 50 bucks you can grab the Ultimate Loot Chest edition, which will feature all of the goodies from the Vault Hunter edition, as well as adding:
A scaled loot chest replica
A steel book case for the game, and a "Creatures of Pandora wide-format ID chart."
It will also feature a lithograph postcard set, field notes from Sir Hammerlock, a cloth map of Pandora, and a certificate of authenticity.
I know I am a fan of special editions, and it does seem that they are throwing a lot of stuff to tempt gamers to buy. Let’s hope gamers’ wallets can handle the strain.

Japanese Vogue Fashion Director Anna Dello Russo, known for her outlandish and eccentric sense of style, is set to design a range of accessories for Swedish retailer H%M.
Russo, dubbed "the Lady Gaga of fashion" for her maximalist fashion choices, is often seen being chased by photographers at global fashion weeks every season.
"An idol of the blogosphere whose flamboyant outfits are endlessly documented by style photographer sand broadcasted globally through the web...Unabashedly glamorous, precious and playful, the range is an expression of Dello Russo's taste for ornamentation," H%M said about her in a press release.
The collection will feature jewellery, sunglasses, shoes, bags and a trolley.
"I am excited by this collaboration: this is the first time H%M involves a Fashion Director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it. I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. As a stylist I know accessorization is essential: It is the personal touch to any outfit. With these pieces everybody can have fun, turning an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day", Russo said in a press release.
Russo took cameras inside her colourful apartment, where she collects jewellery like many people collect art or furniture.
"When H%M called me, they asked me to do something and I said I preferred to do accessories because accessories for me is the focus in my life," she told H%M's camera crew. "As you see in my house, I collect them. Everything precious, everything sparkly. When I was a kid I was always like that in the window," showing what she looked like as she peered through shop windows as a child.
"Fashion is my real language. I can tell much more interesting things through clothes than words. This is my real language. This is my alphabet," she added.
Russo is the latest guest collaborator with the high street retailer, following in the footsteps of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Matthew Williamson, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin, and Versace.
The collection will be available in H%M's global stores and online from October 4.

Plan Perfect Playdates for Your Kids

Megan Gates - There%rsquos no doubt that playdates are beneficial to kids. No matter how old your children are, playdates encourage sharing, taking turns, and socializing with others. But when it%rsquos time for you to host the playdate, it can be challenging to know what to do! While there%rsquos no need to throw a party-like atmosphere, a little preparation can go a long way.
There are a few things you%rsquoll want to handle prior to the playdate to ensure that you get started on a good note. First, make sure your child puts away any toys that he or she doesn%rsquot want to share. You may also want to place a few activities within reach for the kids, such as those that encourage them to play together. Good examples include arts and crafts, puzzles and board games. And of course, make the playdate suitable for the ages of the children. If you%rsquore inviting a toddler, 45 minutes is adequate. Even older kids can get overtired, so limit the playdate to 2 hours or less.
One of the best places for a playdate is outside! Not only do you minimize a messy house, but being outside always seems to make kids play better. Don%rsquot think you need to arrange an outing at the park, either. Open up the sandbox, play a round of catch or drag out the soccer nets. This fall, it's fun to rake leaves and jump in the piles! Have fun treats on hand such as popsicles, frozen lemonade, apple cider, or fresh fruit slushies. You can even let the kids help make some of these fun treats.
While outdoor playdates are always a hit, the weather may not cooperate. And some kids simply don%rsquot enjoy what the outdoor has to offer. As long as you don%rsquot mind the mess, opt for an arts-and-crafts playdate. Take out the play-doh, fun cookie cutters, and plastic utensils. For added fun, bake the kids%rsquo creations so that they harden. If you have an easel, let children paint with tempera paints. Or, simply set out coloring pages that can be printed online for free, along with crayons and markers.
You can also bake treats with the kids and take pictures to email to the other child%rsquos parents. Have the ingredients for cookies or brownies measured out. Megan Gates - There%rsquos no doubt that playdates are beneficial to kids. No matter how old your children are, playdates encourage sharing, taking turns, and socializing with others. But when it%rsquos time for you to host the playdate, it can be challenging to know what to do! While there%rsquos no need to throw a party-like atmosphere, a little preparation can go a long way.
There are a few things you%rsquoll want to handle prior to the playdate to ensure that you get started on a good note. First, make sure your child puts away any toys that he or she doesn%rsquot want to share. You may also want to place a few activities within reach for the kids, such as those that encourage them to play together. Good examples include arts and crafts, puzzles and board games. And of course, make the playdate suitable for the ages of the children. If you%rsquore inviting a toddler, 45 minutes is adequate. Even older kids can get overtired, so limit the playdate to 2 hours or less.
One of the best places for a playdate is outside! Not only do you minimize a messy house, but being outside always seems to make kids play better. Don%rsquot think you need to arrange an outing at the park, either. Open up the sandbox, play a round of catch or drag out the soccer nets. This fall, it's fun to rake leaves and jump in the piles! Have fun treats on hand such as popsicles, frozen lemonade, apple cider, or fresh fruit slushies. You can even let the kids help make some of these fun treats.
While outdoor playdates are always a hit, the weather may not cooperate. And some kids simply don%rsquot enjoy what the outdoor has to offer. As long as you don%rsquot mind the mess, opt for an arts-and-crafts playdate. Take out the play-doh, fun cookie cutters, and plastic utensils.
