China's first ever Snow Polo World Cup was held on Saturday, with 12 international teams battling it out on the field. The ancient sport is seeing a comeback in China after almost 1000 years. China's first ever Snow Polo World Cup kicked off in the country's largest polo facility on Saturday, with 12 top international teams attracting a crowd of new polo enthusiasts. The tournament was held at the Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club in Tianjin, an industrial port city an hour and a half by car from Beijing. The 12 teams, all members of the Federation of International Polo, fall into a 14-16 handicap range, which organizers say makes the tournament one of the most competitive in the world. Three matches%mdashHong Kong/China versus England, Argentina versus South Africa, and India versus the United States%mdashwere held after the opening parade on Sunday. Teams from Australia, Brazil, Chile, France, Italy and New Zealand will also be competing to become the first winners of the inaugural Snow Polo World Cup. Though it was once popular with China's upper classes during the Tang dynasty over 1000 years ago, the "sport of kings" died out almost entirely in China until a recent surge of interest in foreign sports became perceived as high class. Chinese Regime Bans Its Airlines from Participating in EU Emissions Trading System
For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me China's airlines have been banned from paying charges on carbon emissions imposed by the EU. An order issued by China's State Council said that China's airlines will need government approval to join the EU emissions trading system. China has banned its national airlines from participating in the European Union's emissions trading system without government approval. The airlines have also been banned from raising fares or adding fees because of the EU decision, according to an order issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China on Monday. The order, which came from the State Council, said the EU's decision to charge flights in and out of EU airports for carbon emission "runs counter to relevant principles of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the international civil aviation regulations." The EU's Emissions Trading Scheme, which came into effect on January 1, is one of the widest-reaching measures adopted by any country or regional bloc to regulate emissions of greenhouse gases blamed for climate change. It is estimated that around 4000 airlines will have to pay for their carbon emissions. The order says that "China objects to EU's decision to impose the scheme on non-EU airlines, and has expressed its concerns over the scheme through various channels." World Bank Warns Developing Countries of Further Economic Slowdown
For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me The World Bank says developing countries need to be on guard for an even slower global economy. The comments were made in Beijing... and revised numbers paint an even grimmer picture in the time ahead. On Wednesday, the World Bank warned that developing countries should be prepared to brace for a growth slowdown, as it sharply scaled back its estimates for expansion. It stems partly from Europe's debt woes. It predicts the global economy will expand by 2.5 percent in 2012 and by 3.1 percent in 2013. It's well behind the 3.6 percent growth for each year that the bank projected in June. It believes developing countries' economies will continue to outpace those of richer developed countries. Officials raised further concerns over the already weak capital market in Europe. [Lin Yifu, Chief Economist, World Bank]: "In the Euro areas, the capital markets freeze up and the situation there deteriorate. That can trigger some kind of crisis, like what happened in September 2008. That should be the risk that we need to watch about." The World Bank said global economic conditions are fragile and uncertain in the medium term. Among other things, developing countries "could help by avoiding entering into trade disputes and by allowing market prices to move freely." It also said developing-country governments should start contingency planning to identify spending priorities ... From: NTDTV Views: 95 3 ratings Time: 01:59 More in News & Politics

The Chinese Defense Ministry says the US should be careful with its words and actions. The Chinese regime on Monday criticized the United States' new Asia-focused military strategy. It comes after the United States announced last Thursday its new military strategy to refocus its presence in Asia to counter the Chinese regime's growing military aggression in the region. Reuters reported the Chinese Defense Ministry warned the United States to be careful with its words and actions. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin said there's "no basis" for the US to strengthen its military presence in Asia. Liu said, "The modernization of our national defense forces suit China's objective needs of development and security. It is an active factor of promoting peace and stability in the region and does not present a threat to any country." Liu stated the United States has mistaken China's military efforts for regional stability and security. In recent years, the regime's increasing military strength has caused concern for the US. The regime's aggressive stance in the on-going South China Sea claims has also alarmed Asian neighbors. 2008 Iowa Caucus Victory Speech: Promises Kept
Say you're in for 2012: my.barackobama.com Four years ago today, then Senator Barack Obama addressed a packed hall of energized supporters after the Iowa Caucuses victory. He spoke of the following: "I'll be a President who finally makes health care affordable and available to every single American... I'll be a President who ends tax breaks for companies who ship our jobs overseas and put a middle class tax cut into the pockets of working Americans who deserve...I'll be a President who harnesses ingenuity farmers, scientists, and entrepreneurs to free this nation from the tyranny of oil once and for all... and I'll be a president who ends this war in Iraq and finally brings our troops home." Four years later, here's what we've accomplished: - Passed the Affordable Care Act to make health care more affordable for more than 30 million Americans. - Cut taxes for 95% of working families and closed corporate tax loopholes that - were sending profits overseas. - Put in place historic fuel efficiency standards for cars and trucks to lower costs at the pump and reduce dependence on foreign oil. - Ended the war in Iraq.
