Cook County: Movie Trailer
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 16:06:22 02/09/12
Xander Berkeley, Anson Mount, and Ryan Donowho explode on the screen in this visceral tale about three generations of meth addicts living in the piney woods of East Texas. Living in a small town and amongst a house full of crystal meth abusers, seventeen year-old Abe (Donowho) wrestles to beat an addiction to meth and struggles to protect himself and his young niece from an abusive Uncle Bump (Mount). When Sonny (Berkeley) returns home from prison seeking redemption from his son, Abe, the two must navigate the treacherous waters created by Bump, who will do almost anything to maintain a dangerous lifestyle fueled by crystal meth. The tension and suspense build up to an electrifying ending where harrowing choices are made by all three men leading each of them to a different fate. Unlike any other movie, COOK COUNTY unflinchingly tells a raw and real story of rural life where crystal meth dictates the family dynamic.

Undefeated: Movie Trailer
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 16:06:22 02/09/12
Set in the inner-city of Memphis, Undefeated chronicles the Manassas Tigers' 2009 football season, on and off-the-field, as they strive to win the first playoff game in the high school's 110-year history. A perennial whipping boy, in recent decades Manassas had gone so far as to sell their home games to the highest bidder, but that all changed in the spring of 2004 when Bill Courtney, a former high school football coach turned lumber salesman, volunteered to lend a hand. When he arrived, the team consisted of 17 players, some timeworn equipment and a patch of grass masquerading as a practice field. Focusing more on winning young men than football games, the football program nevertheless began resurrecting itself and, in 2009, features the most talented team Manassas has ever fielded; a team that seems poised to end the playoff jinx that has plagued the school since time immemorial. A coming-of-age documentary film, Undefeated provides audiences an intimate view of an underprivileged group of teens and their inspirational coach, as they attempt to make history.

Outlive Your Life, Part 6: Stand up for the Have-Nots
[LESS INFO] 25 VIEWS | ADDED 07:44:43 02/09/12
Part 8 from the Outlive Your Life (formerly Bigger Than You) Series at Oak Hills Church San Antonio. This series takes a walk through Chapters 1-12 of the Acts of the Apostles. “When Jesus was preparing to return to his father, he commissioned his friends to go—to astronomically expand the impact of their lives. He called them to action in Acts 1:8; to a mission that spanned the globe. “You shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.” Our mission is the same today, though our individual areas of impact vary. So I invite you to ponder your place in the mission: Where is your Jerusalem? Your Judea? Your Samaria? Are we reaching “the ends of the earth?” Are we being witnesses of Jesus in our towns, our nations, and our world? The world is waiting for the witness and presence of God’s people. Billions of people live below the poverty line, millions of children go hungry around the globe, and preventable disease claims thousands of lives daily. But we each have the opportunity to make a difference. What would happen if we seized the moment? ~ Max
