I first met Bryan Christie years ago when he was a designer at Scientific American magazine. He called me in to discuss a diagram he wanted me to do and, as things go, we ended up talking shop. He showed me some cool illustrations of his own that he had made for the magazine using emerging 3D software technology and they seemed to jump off the page. I left impressed by this friendly and talented young man.Bryan eventually opened his own studio where he developed a unique and ethereal technique for rendering beautiful artwork. The demand for his work is high. His illustrations appear regularly in WIRED, Newsweek, The New York Times, Esquire, Field & Stream and many other publications and his work covers a broad range of complex topics, from the microbiological to the gastrointestinal. But he makes a mean jet plane, too.I am curating a print exhibit of Bryan's work, his first, at Michigan State University's College of Communication Arts and Sciences and I hope you can stop by.
