This six-year-old boy should be out playing with his friends. Instead, he has become one of the latest, and probably the youngest, rights activists in China. Pang stands in front of a banner. It describes the illegal kidnapping of two business owners, Pang's unofficially adopted grandparents. [Pang Pang, Six-Year-Old Activist] "I'm protesting the Nantong government for illegally kidnapping Grandpa Zhang and Grandma Xu. We'll follow this case until the end and will not give up." According to rights group Human Rights Campaign in China, Zhang Junguo and Xu Yanli operated a timber business in Nantong, Jiangsu province. In January 2011, their factory was forcibly demolished, and the couple has been appealing since. Police detained the couple in September after they became involved in anti-corruption activities. Ma Bao who adopted Pang Pang, says Zhang and Xu treated the young boy like their own grandson, and he wants them released. [Ma Bo, Chinese Rights Activist] "The kid really misses his grandpa Zhang and grandma Xu. I took him along to the Political and Legislative Affairs office in Nantong. Pang Pang went to the office of the Party Secretary, sat down on the sofa and yelled for the Party Secretary to release his grandma Xu." Ma Bo says she and other activists met with Nantong officials on October 10th, but so far authorities have not indicated where Zhang and Xu are being detained. A documentary about the persecution of Falun Gong in China may have deeper implications for the people of Taiwan. That's what a legislative assistant said after watching "Free China: The Courage to Believe" last Friday. NTD co-produced the film with World2Be productions. It follows the story of two prisoners of conscience in China, where they endured physical and mental abuse for refusing to give up the Falun Gong spiritual practice. Taiwanese legislator Huang Wen-ling was grateful to see the film. [Huang Wen-ling, Taiwanese Legislator] "We're very thankful to have this opportunity to watch the film in the Legislative Yuan. A lot of people watched the film today, and I'm sure they can spread the word, so there is greater awareness of human rights abuses in China. People need to expose it." Earlier this year, Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioner Chung Ting-pang was detained without charge for nearly two months by Mainland authorities. Chinese state-run media reported he had been involved in intercepting TV signals%mdashthe same accusations that landed Charles Lee, one of the main characters in the documentary, in jail. Speaking at the screening on Friday, Chung said these actions were necessary to expose the abuses happening in China. Gan Chen-yi, assistant to legislator Tien Chiu-chin, said the documentary is particularly relevant to Taiwan. The Deputy Chief of China's central bank, Yi Gang, made comments in Tokyo on Sunday about the coming fiscal and monetary stimulus package which Chinese authorities hope will stabilize growth. Recently, China's former double-digit yearly growth numbers have fallen sharply enough that some are worried about a broader economic collapse. The new stimulus was decided in September. [Yi Gang, Deputy Chief, Bank of China]: "The stimulus package I think this time will be appropriate in terms of size; when I say appropriate in terms of size, that is, large enough to stabilize the growth but not too large to cause some further negative impact or negative problem in the future." The question of whether the stimulus is large enough will be one thing closely watched by investors. Exports slowed significantly in the second quarter of this year, and domestic demand has not emerged with enough strength to carry China's economy. The new stimulus includes 60 infrastructure projects worth more than $150 billion, although it has not been labeled as a formal fiscal stimulus package. Banks are already making many of the loans. Real estate, though, has been seen as key to the overall well being of the Chinese economy. And it's unknown how well this market will respond to the new plans. Speculation has been intense for years now, with the resulting empty houses and office towers regularly cited as signs of an overheated or bubble market. For the time being, we see no sufficient willingness for substantial talks on the nuclear program. I wish to point out once again: Iran has the right to use nuclear energy in a peaceful manner. Civilian use of nuclear energy is not at issue with Iran, but it is obvious that nuclear arms would violate international law and therefore must not and cannot be accepted by the international community." The new restrictions on Iran are some of the toughest measures yet taken by Europe. Bo Guagua, the son of disgraced Chinese official Bo Xilai, has denied reports he is back in China, and says he has no information on his father's impending trial. British newspaper The Telegraph reported on Sunday that Bo Guagua had left the United States and returned to China. The paper sited a source in Chongqing who reported that Bo went into a police car after arriving in Beijing, and was said to be helping with investigations against Bo Xilai. A Chinese blogger also reported separately that Bo Guagua had arrived in China last Thursday. But today Bo Guagua said he is not back in China. In an email to the New York Times, he said those reports are, quote, "without basis". He did not say where he was. Chinese state-run media last month reported Bo Xilai was under investigation for abuse of power and massive corruption, implicating unnamed family members. Bo Guagua later issued a statement online defending his father. It's soapbox racing like you've never seen it before. 35000 spectators packed the streets for Red Bull's first soapbox race in Hong Kong. 42 contestants designed and built their own speed machines and sent them flying down the over 1200-foot course. Many crashed. It seems there's a reason why cars aren't usually designed to look like hot pots. Some spent about as much time on their costumes as the soapbox racers. And so they crashed. For others, a lot was on the line, besides dangling raw meat that is. [Terry Tang, Racing Butcher]: "It's a local butcher, and I'm actually a butcher. So my company sponsors me. So we got to win this race. If I win this race today, I will get a promotion. I will be the head butcher today." He did not win. The course was littered with obstacles. And many crashed. Of course it's nothing to lose your top over. Well, these guys did. And then they crashed. This unicorn was flying! And then it crashed. Crashed. Crashed. Crashed. And then these guys came up. The Mexican inspired Day of the Dead racer is perhaps the only time in racing history you could say it was a good thing their skull went flying. And they didn't even crash, kind of. So it was no surprise that with 121 points out of 150, the Hong Kong-based Outsign Lab won the day. Representatives of China, Japan and South Korea attended a forum in Seoul on Monday, marking the first anniversary of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS). Established in 2011 the forum was initiated to foster the political cooperation for the three countries. This year, territorial disputes have soured Japan's bilateral relations with China and South Korea. The Diaoyu, or Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea have sent tensions rising between China and Japan. While the Dokdo, or Takeshima Islands remain in dispute between South Korea and Japan. Monday's forum sought to sooth the tensions. [Kim Sung-hwan, South Korean Foreign Minister]: "The trilateral co-operation between China, Japan and South Korea is a very useful mechanism to overcome these challenges and to achieve peace and mutual prosperity in the region." The Japanese representative directed attention away from the specific disputes. [Masaharu Nakagawa, Japanese Representative]: "I believe that the three countries share the rationale that trilateral co-operation is too important to be jeopardized by specific bilateral issues." Nearly one hundred spectators were injured during a fireworks display at the opening of the West Lake International Expo on Saturday, in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou. The fireworks show, billed as low-altitude and low-pollution, started at 7.30pm above Hangzhou's popular tourist sites West Lake, and the Grand Canal. Fireworks fell among the audience standing by the Grand Canal, injuring at least one hundred people. [Mrs. Mao, Local Resident]: "At 8 pm I was thinking of going home while the display continued, suddenly something flew through the air at us. Then my husband was lying on the ground and I picked him up. At that time it was chaotic as fireworks came down then bounced up from the ground. We hurried to escape the site." Spectators suffered skin burns, and clothing was either burned or torn. Most of the injured were discharged from hospital but at least five suffering more serious injuries remain there. The cause of the accident is under investigation. This became the most important thing to me when I was out there." Preliminary figures indicate that 3 world records were broken - the highest altitude skydive, the longest freefall without a parachute, and the fastest fall during a skydive. In fact, Felix entered the atmosphere at an estimated 800 miles per hour, becoming the first skydiver to break the sound barrier. But the daredevil stuntman remains humble. This event was founded by Olivia Newton-John for Planet Ark, an environmental not for profit organisation and is promoted by Lions Clubs worldwide. In spite of sleet and cold winds, children and adults are out early in Karkarook Park in Melbourne. They are busy getting their hands in the soil to plant trees and grasses on National Tree Day. [Peter O'Brien, Rotarian]: "The value of trees is first of all they take carbon dioxide out of the air, and also inject oxygen back into it. But what is most gratifying, particularly for young people to come along and be able to say 'I planted that tree and there it is now adding value to this wonderful community parkland.'" Several years ago, Karkarook Park was a quarry but has been transformed into a beautiful park with wetlands and walking tracks. Today the revegetation continues with the help of Lions, Scouts, Rotarians and various community groups. [Des Lucas, Chief Park Ranger]: "We've planted 2100 trees. We sort the plants out and make sure that the plants that we plant are appropriate for the site that we are planting and these particular plants go into the Two Million Trees Project that is being currently delivered up until 2014."
