Lets Go Global, Mother?s Against Violence and Trafford Council have been working together over the past six months to produce a short film ?Living To Die? with a group of talented young people from the local area. Living To Die is a powerful story that explores the consequences and emotions of a gang following the brutal stabbing and murder of one of their own members a year on. The first preview of the film was shown at Manchester United Football Club to over 300 people as part of the Young People and Violent Gangs: Moving Forward Together conference on 10th July 08. It was well received at the conference and the next phase of the project is to work with the young people to produce an educational resource that will aim to get other young people to discuss debate and look for solutions around the issues of violent gangs & guns. The premier of the film was released in September 08 with a screening at Manchester?s Print Works.
