Nicholas, Seleina, Amos, Rampei and Moro are part of a troupe of Maasai from Kenya who were visiting the U.S. to perform their traditional songs, teach others about their culture. Historically a pastoral people whose economy is based on livestock, they have been severely impacted by the droughts of the last four years. Their village sites have been chosen as a Rotary International project and wells will be drilled at six sites within the next two years. Their visit to Sravasti Abbey was a joyous occasion with the sharing of our different traditions and cultures.
