Time to bring the oak with the oak and roll cocktail. This can utilize bourbon or, in our case, Rye (because we can). The oak perhaps also comes into play because of the use of Oakheart from Bacardi but we did not get much of it in the taste. Tasting notes: A bit more of a sour bite to what could traditionally be seen as more of a whiskey sour. The agave brings a bit less sweet allowing the lemon to bring a bit more domination. Today we are looking at Caliche Puerto Rican Rum, this review should be posted Monday, but we are doing it a day early because I will be on travel. Caliche Rum is a molasses based rum with great sweet aroma and flavor profile that reminds me more closely of a dark rum than that of a light rum and the price is more commanding of a dark rum too, at a suggested price of USD $24.
