Cuba's Castro Visits China On Thursday officials from Cuba and China signed eight agreements at an official ceremony in Beijing. The signings took place during the first state visit by Cuban leader Raul Castro since he took power in 2008. Chinese officials agreed to provide free aid and interest-free loans to Cuba in exchange for economic and technological cooperation. Other deals included customs cooperation agreements, and agricultural deals. Not many details about these agreements are available, especially regarding the amount of aid. Castro will meet Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang, the probable future leaders of China, on Friday. Cuba and China go back a long way.
