Aliens Gets Delayed and 007 Release Date - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 03:00:00 05/23/12
Aliens get pushed back to next year and 007 is coming back this fall.
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
It’s been a long tough road for the Gearbox developed, Sega published game based on the classic sci-fi movie series Alien. And it just got a bit longer.
Gearbox announced on Monday that the game would be delayed...again. The game will now come out at the beginning of next year. New new release date will fall on February 12 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC versions of the game. There is still no word on when the Wii U version of the game will release.
In a post on the Sega Blog, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said that “Because the game was 'announced' with that original press release, it might feel, to those of you who have been waiting for the game since then, that it has been in development a long time. In fact, with the release date now set, it turns out that the total development time we have spent creating Aliens: Colonial Marines is about the same length of time as we had spent creating the original Borderlands or the original Brothers in Arms”
To help sooth the pain a little, Gearbox has released a new trailer to hopefully tide gamers over until next year.
I know a few gamers have really been looking forward to this, but hopefully the extra time till let them make the best game they can. Fingers crossed.

Story 2:
I was announced awhile back that Activision would be making a new game to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise, and we now have a release date.
007 Legends will release on October 16th, just month month ahead of the next film in the long running franchise: Skyfall.
They have also released a brand new trailer that shows off the level based on the 1979 Roger Moore Bond film Moonraker. This will be just one of the six classic Bond films that will make up the narrative of the game.
This is the only Bond film we know about yet, but since we still have several months until release, I’m sure we will find out more soon.
The game is being developed by Eurocom, who were the developers of the PS2 version of Quantum of Solace as well as last year’s remake of Goldeneye 007.
We heard good things about that remake, and it should be fun to go back into Bond’s long history in game form. Definitely on my to watch list.

Rodela's Rant: I Am Alive - Press Pause Byte
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 23:42:39 05/22/12
Carlos Rodela is here with a Press Pause Byte: A little rant about the PSN/XBLA survival horror game from Ubisoft, I Am Alive.
SHOW NOTES:
From Wikipedia:
I Am Alive is a survival horror video game developed by Ubisoft Shanghai and published by Ubisoft. The game focuses on facing the permanent insecurity of a now decaying and hazardous world, and humanity's darkest inclinations.
The game takes place after America has gone through a massive earthquake that destroys most cities and areas. Due to the damage of the aftermath, many people are forced to go without resources. The government tries to help citizens, but their attempts are small and useless since they are not able to complete much as hazardous dust clouds have paralyzed the city. Supplies become low and this causes citizens to become agitated, violent and bitter and turn them to savage hunters.

Carlos Rodela is here with a Press Pause Byte: A little rant about the indie XBLA 2D/3D puzzle/platformer Fez.
SHOW NOTES:
From Wikipedia:
Fez is a puzzle/platform game developed by independent software developers Matt Powers, Alex Deschenes, and Declan Wyman. The game was initially announced by its creator, Phil Fish, on TIGSource.com on July 17, 2007.
In Fez, you play as Gomez, a 2D being who lives in a happy 2D world. That is until one day when Gomez encounters a strange and mysterious artifact; a Hexahedron. The Hexahedron gives Gomez a magical fez hat that allows him to perceive a third dimension. Gomez must use his new ability to save the Hexahedron before his world is torn apart.

New Releases For May 22, 2012 - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 1 VIEWS | ADDED 00:16:54 05/22/12
This week’s new releases brings you a future war with dragons, aliens, a little bit of sorcery, and a time traveller.
SHOW NOTES:
GAME 1: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - PS3, Xbox 360, PC
First up is the newest game in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will have you playing as a member of an elite team of highly trained, cut-throat special-ops soldiers. Armed to the teeth with unrivalled combat technology and cutting-edge military hardware.
The game is set in the near future and will give gamers a new assortment of exciting weapons and gear such as the cross com, optical camouflage, the sync shot and more.
There will be a 12 hour single player game across 8 different locations across the world.
You can also team up with your friends to tackle that game’s 12 missions online, or on the couch in two player split screen.
And of course the game will feature online multiplayer featuring up to 16 players in 8 versus 8 matches. Select from 3 classes and play in 4 different game modes, including the classic Seige.
So FPS fans, here is another games to suck away all of your free time. It’s out now for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
GAME 2: Dragon's Dogma - PS3, Xbox 360
Next up we have a western style action RPG from Capcom that was developed by some of the team that worked on Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4.
Dragon’s Dogma places you in the role of the nameless “hero” who is visited by a dragon who tells you you are the chosen one....then proceeds to rip out your heart. You are reborn as an “Arisen,” who is destined to find and kill the dragon who stole your heart.
You’ll choose from several job types, such as: Fighter, Warrior, Mystic Knight, Strider, Ranger, Assassin, Mage, Sorcerer and Magic Archer.
The game’s main stand out point is its “Pawn” system. These are AI teammates, one main one you can train, and two secondary pawns that can vary depending on your combat style. You’ll also be able to share your main pawns with your friends over PSN and Xbox Live.
There is a high level of depth that can affect your gameplay. The weight of your weapon, the material of your armor -- even the length of your legs -- plays a role in how you fight your battles, but does not interrupt the flow of the action.
If you are a fan of RPGs, then this might be one to check out. And as an added bonus, if you purchase the game today, you’ll get a redeemable code that will give you early access to a demo for Resident Evil 6.
GAME 3: Sorcery - PS3
Next up we have a PS3 single player action dungeon crawler that utilizes the Playstation Move controller.
You start out as a lowly farm hand, and as you become a sorcerer’s apprentice, you will gain more and more powerful magics.
Wield the power of a legendary sorcerer's wondrous magic wand as you cast extraordinary magic, brew enchanted elixirs, solve ingenious puzzles and combat the minions of darkness
Spells range from blunt force, ice and fire based varieties, to those allowing for the explosive charging of areas, the creation of a whirlwind that will sweep up enemies and a mend spell that is used to repair destroyed areas. Spells can also be used in conjunction with each other to best particularly difficult enemies and situations.
There hasn't been a lot of games that really make use of the Move, especially ones made specifically for it, and this one looks like it could be quite good. Definitely one to keep an eye on.
GAME 4: Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock - PSN
And finally, our digital game of the week is one we first mentioned at the end of last year, and it features everyone’s favorite time traveller in the blue police box.
Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock is headed to the Playstation Network for PS3 this week, and will make its way to the Vita in June. It will also be making its way to PC and Mac at a later date.
The game finds The Doctor and River Song again saving Earth from bad things as usually happens in a Doctor Who story.
This time the duo head to the Eternity Clock, which is a planet that is a record of everything that has or will ever happen in all of creation.
Along the way, The Doctor and River will face off against classic Who villains the Daleks, the Cybermen, the Silurians and more recent villains The Silence.
The game is a 2D side-scrolling game, that will feature puzzle solving and platforming. It will feature co-op gameplay as the Doctor and River head to London across four different time periods: Elizabethan, Victorian, present day, and the future.
Both Matt Smith and Alex Kingston reprise their roles as the Doctor and River, and bring all of their experience of those roles into their performances.
This game is sound more and more interesting, and looks like it should be a must buy for Doctor Who fans.

Origin's Kickstater Help and Walking Dead Blowout - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 1 VIEWS | ADDED 00:00:00 05/21/12
Origin helps out crowd funded games and zombie games still sell.
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
We’ve talked a lot about indie developers going to Kickstarter to fund their games, but what do they do once they finish the game? Well it looks like EA might have a solution.
EA announced on Friday that they would wave distribution fees for their Origin game service for 90 days after a Kickstarter game has launched.
Of course there is a catch. They are offering this only to games that are “fully-funded, complete and ready-to-publish games designed for digital download to PC platforms."
Origin’s Senior VP David DeMartini said that “Gamers around the world deserve a chance to play every great new game, and by waiving distribution fees on Origin we can help make that a reality for successfully crowd-funded developers."
This is a pretty sweet deal, especially for indie devs that are just getting started. And of course it doesn’t do EA any harm to glom onto a bit of indie cred for itself as well.

Story 2:
The Walking Dead is doing pretty well for itself. It’s got a well loved comic, a highly acclaimed TV show, and now a best selling video game.
The Telltale developed game came out two weeks ago, and has already over 1 million copies over the PC, MAC, PS3, and Xbox 360 versions of the game. And there is still an iOS version on the horizon.
This is real good news for Telltale, as this makes this game their fastest selling game to date. The game is getting really good reviews, and the $5 price point can’t hurt either.
Telltale CEO Dan Connors said that “The most exciting aspect of getting off to such a great start is that this is just the beginning of the five episode series. The Walking Dead fans are going to experience some really great moments in the months ahead that are uniquely influenced by the choices they make throughout the season."
If you haven’t picked this game up yet, you can grab it from PSN and XBLA, as on PC and MAC. Also, be sure to check out our Press Pause Byte as our old pal Carlos gives a mini review of the game as well.

The Walking Dead is an episodic action adventure video game based on Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic book series for iOS, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Carlos Rodela is here with a Press Pause Byte: A mini review of the XBLA game Trials Evolution.
SHOW NOTES:
From Wikipedia:
Trials Evolution is a downloadable 2.5D platform racing game developed by RedLynx and published by Microsoft Studios. Successor to 2009's critically acclaimed Trials HD, it was released for the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade on April 18, 2012.
In Trials Evolution, the player controls a rider on a physics-based motorcycle from the start of the level to the end while navigating a number of obstacles. The objective is to complete the course as fast as possible and with as few crashes, known in the game as faults, as possible. The game uses 3D graphics, but is played on a 2D plane, so the rider can only move forwards and backwards. Players can also control the bike's pitch at slow speeds or while in the air.

Lost Planet Spin Off and Borderlands 2 Special Editions - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 00:31:08 05/18/12
Lost Planet getting an unexpected spinoff and Borderlands 2 getting the special edition treatment.
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
News came out on Wednesday that Capcom’s Lost Planet series would be getting a spinoff game, and it’s not what anyone was expecting.
The game, called E.X. Troopers, is an action shooter that will be coming to the PS3, and oddly enough the 3DS.
It has a visual style that looks nothing like the main games in the series, as this one has a cell-shaded anime style.
According to the story on Andriasang, EX Troopers tells of the fight between the snow pirates and Akrid aliens on EDN-3rd. The game will have a school feel, and you will play as Bren Turner, a young man who has come to the academy.
Along with the anime styled visuals, the game will also use manga panel cutscenes, and will have a theme song from well known JPOP star May’n
I’m a little curious as to who this game is being made for. I mean the type of game will probably do well in Japan, but I can’t think that fans of the original Lost Planet games will find this all that appealing.
http://andriasang.com/con10y/capcom_extroopers/
http://andriasang.com/con11c/ex_troopers_playable/
Story 2:
Borderlands will be making its way to stores this September, and 2K games have announced the special editions of the games to really put the hurt on your wallet.
There will be two different special editions. First is the Deluxe Vault Hunter edition that will run $100 and feature:
A Marcus Kincaid bobblehead doll
The Inside the Vault: The Art & Design of Borderlands 2 book.
A collectable sticker set, a map of in-game world Pandora
A digital comic download code, and downloadable in-game content.
For an extra 50 bucks you can grab the Ultimate Loot Chest edition, which will feature all of the goodies from the Vault Hunter edition, as well as adding:
A scaled loot chest replica
A steel book case for the game, and a "Creatures of Pandora wide-format ID chart."
It will also feature a lithograph postcard set, field notes from Sir Hammerlock, a cloth map of Pandora, and a certificate of authenticity.
I know I am a fan of special editions, and it does seem that they are throwing a lot of stuff to tempt gamers to buy. Let’s hope gamers’ wallets can handle the strain.

Good Used Game News and Bad News For PSP - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 1 VIEWS | ADDED 00:29:41 05/17/12
We’ve got some good news on the anti used game front and some bad news for the PSP.
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
There have been a lot of rumors that the next generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft would lock out used game from playing on the systems. Well we do have a bit of good news in that regard.
During the latest episode of GameTrailers’ Bonus Round, Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter stated that Sony Computer Entertainment America president Jack Tretton has come out against blocking used games.
According to Pachter, Tretton said that "For the record, I'm totally opposed to blocking used games. I think it's great for consumers that they can buy those… I think it would be anti-consumer of us to do that."
This is pretty good news for gamers, but it should be noted that this is only his opinion, and may not reflect the views of how the top brass of Sony in Japan feel about it. But hey, it’s a start, right?
http://www.gamespot.com/news/sony-exec-opposed-to-blocking-used-games-says-analyst-6376557
Story 2:
Speaking of Sony, their first handheld the PSP has had a pretty rough life over the last seven years, and it looks like things are gonna get a bit worse for it.
According to a story on Kotaku, Gamestop has decided that it will start pruning down their inventory of both PSP systems and games.
A Gamestop representative told Kotaku that "The consolidation is occurring to maximize the merchandising space in the smallest 25% of stores. It will also provide a greater assortment in those stores that will continue to carry the category."
As stated this will only affect the smaller stores across the Gamestop chain, and gamers will still be able to find games and systems in larger stores, though they may have to travel farther to find one.
It’s sad to see this, but it may just be a sign that the system is finally on the way out. Especially now that the Vita is out and will at least play some of the digital PSP games.

Steam Cards Coming and Tomb Raider Delayed - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 00:08:16 05/16/12
Steam is getting its own in store voucher cards and another big game gets delayed.
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
Digital gaming has been a boon to most gamers, killing the need for a lot of them to have to go to a brick and mortar store to purchase a game. That is especially true for Steam.
Well now even Steam is going to be showing up in stores, exclusively at Gamestop with its new Steam Wallet cards.
These cards will be just like the PSN, XBLA, and Wii point cards that you’ll normally find there, and will come in both $20 and $50 denominations.
Steam is a digital online storefront, but some players don’t have a credit card or any kind of electronic payment method. Using these cards lets those gamers have access to all of the games and the DLC that goes with them.
There are a lot of awesome games on Steam, and it now looks like a lot more gamers will now be able to play them.

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/14/steam-wallet-exclusive-to-gamestop/
Story 2:
We told you last week about the delay of Irrational’s Bioshock Infinite, and another high profile game as also slipped into next year.
News came out on Monday that the reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise has now been pushed back until sometime in Q1 of 2013.
A post on the Eidos forums from Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher stated that: "We're doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game, and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve. We believe this is the right choice, and I guarantee it will be worth the wait."
As a way to make up for it, Crystal Dynamics said that they would be revealing a lot more information about the game at next month’s E3.

New Releases For May 15, 2012 - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 23:56:36 05/14/12
This week brings quite a few high profile releases to help unburden your wallet of all of that pesky money.
SHOW NOTES:
GAME 1: Diablo III - PC, MAC
First up is the much anticipated action RPG Diablo 3, which brings players back to the land of Sanctuary.
20 years have passed since the end of the last Diablo 2 expansion, and the Demon Lords Azmodan and Belial make a return.
The game will feature five character classes including: the Barbarian, the Monk, the Wizard, the Witch Doctor, and the Demon Hunter.
You’ll be able to use the environments as a weapon by setting traps, or using destructible objects and environmental obstacles to your advantage.
The game’s multiplayer will utilize a new and improved version of Blizzard’s Battle.net that will make connecting and plyaing with your friends a lot easier.
You’ll also be able to utilize in game artisans that can you to craft new weapons and items, and the in game auction house will let you sell items for in game as well as real world money.
The single player game will let you use up to three AI followers, and skills and abilities will unlock as soon as you level up. You will also be able to use many more of your new skills simultaneously.
Gamers have been patiently waiting for this game for over 10 years. I’m sure there are a lot of people who won’t be heard from for a few weeks after they get their hands on this.
GAME 2: Max Payne 3 - PS3, Xbox 360, PC
Next up is the return of the popular third person shooter Max Payne.
Max Payne 3 sees an older and slightly more broken Max as he decides to take a job down in São Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco.
Of course, as things usually go in this type of story, everything turns to shit, and now Max finds himself alone in an unfamiliar city, and he’ll have to find out the truth in order to survive.
The game will feature cutting edge shooting mechanics for precision gunplay, advanced new Bullet Time and Shootdodge effects, full integration of Natural Motion's Euphoria Character Behavior system for lifelike movement.
This will also be the first Max Payne game to feature multiplayer. It will feature the same Bullet Time as the single player game. It will also have many weapons, characters, locations, and more to choose from.
A lot of people were skeptical about a new Max Payne game, especially one not developed by Remedy. However, things are looking pretty good for this release, and it might just be one to take a closer look at.
GAME 3: Game of Thrones - PS3, Xbox 360, PC
Our next game is based on the wildly popular book and television series Game of Thrones.
This 30 plus hour game will take gamers into the George R. R. Martin created world of Westeros as one of two original characters who were both once part of Robert’s Rebellion.
As you play you will forge alliances and wage battles as they play a pivotal role in the ongoing war for power of the Seven Kingdoms.
Feel time slow in the heat of battle: Combat mirrors the series' thoughtful approach to war and politics: fighting slows but never stops entirely, forcing the player to make quick, pressured choices before their enemy strikes again.
If you’re a fan of both the books or the TV series, and want to spend more time in the land of Westeros, then go ahead and grab this title today.
GAME 4: Battleship - PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, 3DS, DS
And lastly today we have a tie-in to the upcoming movie based on the classic boardgame Battleship.
Step into the role of Cole Mathis, the U.S. Navy's "boots on the ground," and experience thrilling gameplay as you combat a deadly alien invasion in this game inspired by the upcoming Universal Pictures film.
Command real-time control of naval units, strategize a map-wide plan of attack and direct your fleet to launch air strikes, conduct radar sweeps and engage in high-seas combat.
Battle against the invading threat on the shores of Hawaii as a member of the elite E.O.D. Arm yourself with an arsenal of deadly weapons and upgradeable naval units, all with special attacks and attributes.
The movie itself looks like good dumb fun in the vein of a Michael Bay film, and hopefully this game can be just as entertaining. It is a movie tie-in game though, so I don’t hold out much hope.

Big RE6 Sales and An Xbox 360 Browser - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 03:00:00 05/13/12
Capcom expects RE6 to make major bank and is the 360 getting a web browser?
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
The end of last week saw Capcom come out with its quarterly report, and inside were predictions about some upcoming games.
The biggest prediction is for this October’s Resident Evil 6. Capcom seems to think that across the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC versions of the game, that the title will sell 7 million copies worldwide.
That would make it the best selling title in the company’s history. At the moment, that honor belongs to the Super Nintendo edition of Street Fighter 2.
Other predictions in the report have the new Devil May Cry coming in at around 2 million copies, and Dragon’s Dogma and Lost Planet 3 pulling in 1.5 and 1.4 million copies respectively.
The last Resident Evil game has sold over 5 million as of last June, so it might not be that big a stretch for game number 6 to make it to 7 million.
http://www.gamespot.com/news/resident-evil-6-to-sell-7-million-6376267
Story 2:
Another story that hit at the end of last week states that Xbox 360 owners may be able to look forward to a web browser for their chosen system.
According to The Verge, Microsoft is currently in the testing phase right now. The new browser would put the 360 on par with the PS3, which has had a web browser basically from launch. The Xbox browser would be be a modified version of of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9, and would incorporate Bing search. It will also have Kinect support, though it won’t be mandatory for use.
As with most stories of this nature, there is no other information, or even a release date. You can bet though that if this does pan out, expect to hear about it at the Microsoft press conference during the upcoming E3.

Hitman Bonus Game and Bioshock Delayed - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 00:57:08 05/11/12
New Hitman gets pre-order bonus game and Bioshock gets delayed.
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
Pre-ordering a game, and getting a bonus has become pretty much par for the course in video games now. Usually it’s a figurine, or some DLC, but the upcoming Hitman: Absolution is giving gamers a whole other game.
Hitman: Sniper Challenge, according to Square Enix, is "standalone 'hit' in the Hitman universe…intended as separate content for fans to enjoy whilst waiting for Hitman: Absolution to be released."
The game has Agent 47 in a mission to take out a weapons company exec and his bodyguards.
Gamers who get the game will unlock several items in Absolution, including the Silenced Agency Kazo TRG as well as 12 other weapon techniques.
Hitman: Sniper Challenge is available from Gamestop in the US on PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 15th, and on PC on August 1st. Hitman: Absolution will launch sometime this fall.

Story 2:
We have a bit of sad news. Irrational Games announced that the upcoming Bioshock Infinite will slip from its original October release date.
The game will now come out on February, 26th of next year.
Creative Director Ken Levine posted on the game’s official website that they “we felt pretty good about the timing. Since then, we’ve uncovered opportunities to make Infinite into something even more extraordinary.” Because of that, Levine and company decided to push the game into next year.
Another consequence of this is that the company will enter essentially a media blackout. The company will now not be showing off the game at any big upcoming events, and that includes E3 and GamesCom.
According to Levine: "Preparing for these events takes time away from development, time we’re going to use instead to get the best version of Infinite into your hands in February."
We’d be lying if we said we weren’t disappointed in the news, but Irrational makes good games, and giving them time to get it right is fine. And besides, a lot of games were coming out in October, so at least my wallet won’t take QUITE as big a hit then it was going to.

Possible Avengers Game and Kingdom Hearts Ready To Return? - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 03:00:00 05/10/12
An Avengers game might be on the way and is Kingdom Hearts ready to make a return to consoles?
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
If you haven’t been paying attention, The Avengers movie is doing boffo business right now. The movie itself recently broke the record for highest grossing opening weekend in film history. So it just makes sense that a game tie-in would get made eventually.
According to Gamespot, a website domain was recently registered by Marvel Entertainment for avengersbattleforearth.com.
The interesting thing though is that the URL in questions links directly to the Ubisoft site, leading many to speculate that they will be the developer/publisher of the game.
An Avengers game was actually in development at THQ’s now closed Studio Australia, but was cancelled last September.
Also, it seems strange that Ubisoft would be handling publishing duties, since Marvel is now owned by Disney, which is perfectly able to develop and publish its own games.
At the moment, there is no confirmation from anyone. In fact the only confirmed Avengers game is Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles for Xbox 360, PS3, and PS Vita.
The Avengers movie was pretty fucking awesome, and if they can make a game that is even half as good, then I can’t wait.

Story 2:
It’s been quite awhile since the last time a Kingdom Hearts game graced a home console, and according to its director, it might be time the change that.
In an interview in the new issue of Game Informer, series director Tetsuya Nomura stated that "I also feel that it's about time that Kingdom Hearts should go back to being on a console."
Nomura talked about the PS Vita, but stated that it is a very powerful device and that “there isn't much of a difference with a console. So even if we were to make a game, we would have to be very careful about how to create it for that device. “
It’s been eight years since the last time a Kingdom Hearts game made it to a home console, but at this point there’s no telling if Kingdom Hearts 3 would make its way onto the current generation of consoles.
One thing he DID say was that gamers might be able to find a hint if they play the upcoming 3DS game Dream Drop Distance to the very end.

Kinect Exercise Tracker and New Family Guy Game - Press Pause Daily
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 03:00:00 05/09/12
Kinect looks to be getting its own exercise tracker and a Family Guy game is coming to your console.
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
If you’ve been wanting to get in better shape AND you have a Kinect, then this first story might be just what you need.
According to The Verge, Microsoft is preparing to update the Xbox 360 Dashboard. It will add a “cross-application exercise tracking system.”
It will be called Kinect Fit Play, and it will let users track their exercise across most Kinect games, and then place the information in the cloud for storage.
In addition to that, Microsoft is said to also be planning to release its own heart rate monitor as well that will let users make sure they are within their target goal for their workouts.
Gaming is a pretty sedentary activity, and anything that can be done to help get gamers off the couch and moving seems like a pretty good idea to me.

Story 2:
After a leaked Amazon page started making the rounds, it now looks like Peter, Stewie, Brian, and the rest of The Family Guy gang will be making their way to a console near you.
So far, not much is known about the game, which is called Family Guy: Back To The Multiverse.
It appears that will feature the writers and voice cast from the show, and looks to return to elements shown in the eighth season episode “Road to the Multiverse,” which saw Brian and Stewie using a device to travel to different universes, while trying to return to their own.
At the moment, this is all the information we have, though it appears that the game will launch sometime this fall.

GAME 3: Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition - XBLA
Next is a game that really needs no introduction.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition lets you create worlds from the comfort of your sofa. Play alone or play with your friends. Explore, build and conquer! At night monsters come out, so make sure to build a shelter before that happens. After that, your world is your imagination. Turn your hours into minutes with Minecraft!
I mean come on. It’s Minecraft....on your Xbox....what could be more awesome than that?
GAME 4: Datura - PS3
And lastly this week we have Datura, a PSN exclusive that looks to experiment with the possibilities of the Playstation Move.
According to the Playstation Blog: you’ll find yourself in a mysterious forest. From there “you will navigate your way through the game by controlling your character’s hand using Playstation Move technology. From here, you are immersed into the game’s unique experimental narrative and original way of interaction, which enables you to experience the world not only visually, but also empirically.”
”Datura is a story you get a chance to physically participate in. As you travel through the game, you will encounter choices and face your consequences. It is through these puzzles that Datura explores an element of anxiety: was it a right choice or a wrong choice?”
Sony has been more willing than most to offer gamers more quirky and experimental games, and by adding in the Move controller, this experience could be a pretty interesting one.
