Follow us on twitter : www.twitter.com/meviotech   Welcome to the Friday Games Edition of Mevio Tech.  Today, it’s all about the Playstation…mainly because, well, Sony made it that way.  There was all this hype going around the Intarwebs this week speculating that Sony was finally going to drop the price of the PS3.  I mean.  They even had Cali fooled.     Maybe it was Sony’s attempt at an April Fool’s prank, but the announcement actually had to do with the price of the PS2 dropping.     I wasn’t really sure how dropping the price of the now-dated PS2 would help Sony out…seeing as there’s generally only a few games released for it each month, most of which being movie tie-ins, sports games, or PSP ports.  Luckily for me… we have Kotaku.  A recent post explains how lowering the price of the PS2 puts it in direct competition with the Wii for casual gamers and how, ultimately, these gamers should and will graduate to the PS3.  Makes sense I guess!      Well if you are a PS3 owner, then I highly suggest you download the latest version of the firmware, version 2.70, just released this week.  Some of the new features include Text Chat (with up to 15 gamers at a time), a friends list on the XMB, and improved storage solutions for video content.  What I love about Sony’s PS3 updates is, well, they do all the work for me!     Nothing better than getting something for free, right?  Which is exactly why you all should be watching GamesweaselTV this week because it might be your last chance to get a copy of Wheelman for the PS3…for free!
