Style Feeder Introduces Social Shopping Network
[LESS INFO] 4 VIEWS | ADDED 16:21:50 12/11/06
I've got to be honest with you. The whole concept of a "social shopping network" -- call me an idiot, but I don't get it. Having a place to save interesting items you have found while shopping online? I get that. It's the social element that I don't get.Phil Jacob is a super intelligent guy who does a far better job at explaining than I do at understanding. Maybe you'll understand and enlighten me. Nevertheless, I think you'll like this interview. Phil's a fascinating guy and has an interesting business proposition. Don't let my limited mind hold you back from enjoying this.

Life Knot Enables You To Meet Others With Common Interests And Activities Not Just A Prettier Face
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 15:28:17 12/01/06
I met Matt Muro of LifeKnot at a recent Web Innovators Group -- a gathering of web entrepreneurs that meet every other month in Boston. Matt was demoing his new social network/dating site (though that's not what he'd call it). and was getting swarms of interested people. When I checked in to see what all the commotion was about, I'll be honest and tell you that my response was "oh no, not another social network". But something struck me about Matt and his LifeKnot offering that it was, well, a bit more human than some other social network sites I've seen. It's based on the assumption that people would rather find people to share common activities with -- like mountain biking or skiing or tennis or whatever -- than just blindly search about for the prettiest (or most handsome) person on the list. While I like the idea Matt is working with, I honestly wondered whether this was a "sexy" enough idea to gather traction, and quite honestly, almost didn't run this interview for that reason. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this venture. The more I think about it, the more I like it.Check it out and let me know what you think... Enjoy!

An Interview With Bob Petrie Of Vidavee Com
[LESS INFO] 2 VIEWS | ADDED 22:01:27 10/24/06
Of all the companies I have had the opportunity to interview for ZBIZ.TV, Vidavee is the one that I would place my bet on as most likely to succeed. Their management team has a stellar record of success. They have a clear vision of their business and the thriving market they serve and are already assembling an attractive list of paying clients. Particularly telling was that when I asked about their exit strategy, Bob Petrie answered that they will be the ones doing the acquisitions, not the ones being acquired. Most entrepreneurs are on a clear path to acquisition — a perfectly acceptable strategic plan (it worked for me!) — but to hear one say that they will be the acquirers was almost shocking to hear. I hope you find this interview as enlightening as I did. Keep an eye on these guys…

An Interview With Robert Glazer Co Founder Of Referral Monitor Com
[LESS INFO] 4 VIEWS | ADDED 19:33:25 10/23/06
Robert Glazer will be the first to tell you that ReferralMonitor is not a business in and of itself, but one of several products that together comprise a business. He discusses those other products during this interview. What struck me about this interview is his crystal clear focus on doing one thing and doing it well. He doesn’t embelish ReferralMonitor with dozens of exotic and unnecessary features. He chose instead to serve one set of functions and execute upon them quite well. Robert’s quiet, straightforward style is reflected in his manner of speech as well as his product. What you see on the video is exactly what you get when you meet him in person. Glazer may not be a multizillionaire at a young age, but he will most certainly be a success in life with his thoughtful, intelligent approach to the things he does. I wish him the best of luck in his endeavors…

Zbiz Tv Interview #3 Brad Galle Ceo Of Answer U Com

Brad Galle saw a situation where year in, year out, students came through MIT facing the same set of challenges and had similar questions, but weren’t able to get answers through the existing resources. He looked at that problem from a broader standpoint and saw that this isn’t just the situation for MIT, but for pretty much ALL universities and colleges. He created AnswerU as a solution for that problem. He’s implementing it initially at MIT, but plans to expand that service, ala Facebook, to campuses across the country. Tune in as Brad reviews what went in to the planning process and where he hopes to take this company. Enjoy!

Zbiz Tv Interview #2 Peter Caputa Iv Ceo Of Whiz Spark Corporation
[LESS INFO] 40 VIEWS | ADDED 19:00:06 10/23/06
Judging strictly from my own experience in attending conferences, trade shows and seminars over the past twenty years, we have evolved from a place where the primary vehicle for finding out about an event, registering and interacting with the event coordinators was done primarily through marketing pieces one receives in the mail to a place where no paper is involved — all interaction is done through web sites, email and increasingly, weblogs and wikis. Peter Caputo’s WhizSpark, Inc. provides the expertise required for an event coordinator to interact with their potential and registered attendees completely online. His is a bootleg operation which has taken on only modest investment and is forced by their decision not to seek outside investment to maintain a cash flow positive, profitable operation month in, month out. As that was the decision we made at ClickZ to manage and grow our company, I have a special place in my heart for entrepreneurs like Peter. This will be unlike most other interviews you will see on ZBIZ.TV, as Peter’s “stick to the basics” and “block and tackle” style, combined with no lofty or unrealistic notions about where there business will go, make theirs a very unique operation, indeed. I hope you enjoy this interview and please, don’t hesitate to leave a comment if you have some thoughts on the interview or how we can serve up a better product for you. We aim to please! Enjoy…

Zbiz Tv Interview #1 Richard Resnick Ceo Of Harmony Line Inc
[LESS INFO] 8 VIEWS | ADDED 18:36:25 10/23/06
This interview with Richard Resnick conveys the internal struggle that many, if not most entrepreneurs go through in conceiving a business plan and marketing strategy that they think will work. Starting with Hyperscore, a software program developed by a team of MIT Media Lab professors which enables people with no musical talent or experience to compose and play music, he set out to create a company which could capitalize on this technology. They tried various approaches before they arrived at their current strategy: enabling their customers to create and market their own music via ringload sales, taking a small portion of each sale. Many entrepreneurs have a certain bravado about them that gives off the impression that they arrived at the right solution the first time and stuck with it through thick and thin. Richard’s more candid reflections are a refreshing break from all that. Listening to his story, I knew from personal experience how often executing on a business plan can be trying this idea, then that one, then combining the two… You keep plugging away until you find what works. I hope you enjoy today’s interview with Richard and won’t hesitate to leave comments before you go.
