A fashion week - Malene Grotrian Design - Day 4 part 2............After a brief intermission, a performance by singer Sara Lynn turned our attention back to the runway where we were treated to a fashion show by Malene Grotrian Design. Grotrian has been receiving increasing attention, especially since showing at NY Fashion Week last year. This evening she unveiled her 2010 F/W collection to an appreciative crowd. Structured holiday fabrics in darker colours with pops of red and electric blue created great silhouettes. This company designs form-fitting, high quality jeans that flatter and enhance a women's best asset. Designed and created by woman for women. My favourite look during the show was a pair of jeans that sparkled with a gold glitter detail. FMA fashion week ; - Kiss and Makeup - Day 3 Day 3 our attention was soon to be turned to make-up. Vancouver's Kiss & Makeup boutique has been intimately involved during the FMA Fashion Week as a sponsor and one of the on-site pop-up shops. As well, Kiss & Makeup makeup artists, Sarah Noriss-Jones and Rachel Rossitter designed the make-up for all runway shows this week featuring Becca Cosmetics exclusively . The boutique took centre stage on day three with their very own tribal chic inspired fashion show styled by Lisa Relling. The show featured fun and functional garments by Fluxus, Society for Rational Dress, Onward into the Future, Dace, Cynthia Vincent, Sienna Ray and more. It was fun, flirty and enjoyable to say the least and there were several pieces I'm sure flew out of the pop-up shop after the show. FMA fashion week - JC Studio - Day 2Vancouver Fashion eZine - by Katie MoganLeather love seats, coloured flood lights and wall-to-wall glamour: Just your standard night of excellence for event producer Andy Chu at FMA Fashion Week .Club 560 was transformed as such for the evening's showcase of JC Studios' Fall/Winter 2010 collection. Earlier in the week, designer RozeMerie Cuevas had been presented with the FMA Fashion Award. Tonight, she was the star, posing for pictures and addressing the crowd of devout JC Studios fans. This season's collection featured a mix of sleek business wear, sultry evening attire and RozeMerie's signature crowd-pleasing floor-sweeping gowns. Blending various textures and fabrics seemed to be the focal point this season, as sleek silhouettes were adorned with chunkier knits to signal the start of fall. Solid colours, such as charcoal, ivory and dove grey were given a little 'oomph' care of brightly coloured patterned blouses that peek-a-booed as the models walked. The gowns, an assortment of liquid black elegance and fluttering pale watercolours, concluded the show. As the models did their closing strut down the bending runway, the petite powerhouse designer made her final salute to the audience, flashing a peace sign as her parting gift. Overall verdict: another achievement for JC Studios and a highlight for FMA Fashion Week.

WILSON FMA Fashion Week - the latest incarnation of FMA produced by Andy Chu of Arc2 Intertainment - opened with a bang in a new venue, the spacious Club 560. The club was packed wall to wall with over 600 VIP fashionistas dressed to impress. Cameras seemed to be flashing everywhere as we posed on the red carpet and mingled. It was a night of celebration with entertainment, fashion, music, art and food. Hosted by Meena Mann, Nisha Khare and Allison Warnyca, the performers for the evening included DJ She, the trumpet sounds of Malcolm Aiken and a dance performance by Emanuel Sandhu, contestant on So You Think You Can Dance Canada. An week long art exhibition was unveiled featuring work by Brent Ray Fraser, Adrian O'brien and Miriam Aroeste and pop-up shops were open in a side gallery. The FMA Awards Ceremony paid tribute to four outstanding talents: Emanuel Sandhu - Outstanding Contribution to Canada (Canadian figure skater, three-time Canadian national champion, 2 time Olympian), Rozemerie Cuevas - Fashion Achievement Award (designer of Jacqueline Conoir Collection), Chan Hon Goh - Art Achievement Award (principal dancer of The National Ballet of Canada and director of Goh Ballet Academy) and Elise Estrada - Music Achievement Award (Canadian & international award-winning recording artist and Juno Awards nominee).
