An abandoned elevated freight line in NYC was about to be demolished, when a couple of visionaries stepped in to articulate what it might become. It's a work in progress, but the second phase of The HighLIne was recently opened to the public. The completed HighLine runs from Greenwich Village, through Chelsea to 34th Street close to the Hudson River. These pictures were taken on June 25th, 2011.
