Melinda C. Joyce, PharmD, FAPhA, FACHE: is Corporate Director of Pharmacy at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky, with responsibility over the pharmacy services of four hospitals, a long-term care facility, and two community pharmacies. Her areas of expertise include patient safety, 340(b) programs, infectious diseases, and psychotropic medications, and she provides consulting in these areas to various facilities. She also teaches student pharmacists and nursing students. She is involved in numerous pharmacy organizations, and has served as Past President of the Kentucky Pharmacists Association and the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy. She is active in APhA, serving on committees, as a delegate in the House of Delegates, as Past President of the Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management (APhA-APPM), and as an APhA Trustee. She has served on APhA’s Finance Committee and represented APhA on committees impacting practice standards in healthcare. Joyce has been recognized with several honors, including the APhA Gloria Francke Leadership Mentor Award in 1999 and the APhA-APPM Distinguished Achievement Award in Hospital and Institutional Practice in 2007. She is an APhA Fellow and also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
