Comics aren’t just for 35 year old dudes anymore! Nope, publishers and creators are making a valiant effort to produce comics for everyone. They’re not always the easiest to find, but we’re here to help. For the young kids, there are Yo Gabba Gabba comics from Oni. There are also books from Image/Shadowline like T. Runt and Dear Dracula. As the kids get older, you can find plenty more books that are for young and old alike. Check out Fraggle Rock from Archaia, or the Three Thieves series from cartoonist Scott Chantler, for fantasy adventure. Even Marvel superstar Brian Michael Bendis and his longtime collaborator Michael Avon Oeming produced the kid friendly superhero book, Takio. Then, everyone should be able to find something fun in the western Reed Gunther, from Image Comics. Finally, there’s a Eisner winning original fairy tale, Return of the Dapper Men from Jim McCann and Janet K. Lee. Comics can be good for everyone, even kids!

Thomas Jane, star of movies and the TV series Hung is a real deal comic book creator. He's joined by his Raw Studios partner, artist Tim Bradstreet to talk about the various comics they've got on tap like Bad Planet, Alien Worlds, and The Lycan, and just what it is they find important when it comes to making comics, and it's not deadlines. Rob Liefeld chats with us about all the upcoming work he's got hitting the comic shop shelves. First, he gives us the low down on The Infinite with Robert Kirkman, and then he talks about Hawk and Dove, with the DC relaunch. You thought part one was enough? No, there is more from the 2011 Comic-Con International in San Diego, and we're bringing it to you. Get ready for more from the best in comics at the biggest event there is in the industry. Cliff Chiang will soon be lending his talent to Wonder Woman, along with writer Brian Azzarello. Cliff tells us a little about the new take on the Amazon princess and how he deals with people being mad about her having pants or not. There are going to be gods, and fights, and all sorts of exciting new stuff, and it's going to look fantastic. Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez are behind the wonderful and scary Locke & Key series from IDW. As the series ramps up for the conclusion, they discuss just what goes into this acclaimed horror series. Plus, as they approach the second to last story arc, they discuss what's coming up in the future for the team, and the very real possibility of more Locke & Key, after some new projects together. Jonathan Ross, the UK TV chat show star turned comic book writer joins us to talk about his onslaught of new projects with The BLVD studio. After the success of his story with Tommy Lee Edwards, Turf, Ross has a whole slate of new comics coming out with artists like Bernard Chang, and, did he just say Bryan Hitch? He did. Legendary guitarist Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave joins us to talk about his new comic book, Orchid, from Dark Horse. Conceived and written entirely by Morello, the musician tells us of a story about battles and monsters and magic, but also class struggles and social consciousness and themes familiar in Morello's music. Crazy, insane, Eisner Award winning person, Jim McCann joins us after Return of the Dapper Men from Archaia won the Eisner for Best Graphic Novel. Along with artist, Janet K. Lee, Jim shared the honors in a very rare tie with Wilson from Dan Clowes. But that didn't put a damper on what was a wonderful experience, as Jim recounts it for us, as well as how he already damaged his trophy, making it slightly more like the Death Star. You'll need to watch. Kyle Higgins is new to the scene, but already handling plenty of big name titles. He worked with Scott Snyder on Gates of Gotham, and is making a splash in the DC Relaunch, heading up Nightwing and Deathstroke. DC's co-publisher and superstar artist Jim Lee wraps up the show, talking about the relaunch, as well as fan reactions. I Fanboy Episode #224 San Diego Comic Con 2011 Part 1
[LESS INFO] 1 VIEWS | ADDED 12:55:07 08/03/11
Strap in kids, because iFanboy have brought you a lot of San Diego Comic-Con, and unlike most of your bigger media outlets, we're talking to comics people, about comics. This is but part one of three, and we bring you up close and personal with the most talented and interesting names in comics. Mark Waid is a crafty veteran, and when Marvel needed someone to put a fresh spin on the shadowy and slightly mildewy Daredevil, he answered the call. Only one issue in, and he's already basking in critical and fan praise. Daredevil is fun, and it's about time. Over at BOOM! Studios, Mark celebrated his creator owned series, Irredeemable by releasing a great big Definitive Irredeemable in hardcover, oversized slipcase glory. Things are looking up for Cullen Bunn. Since we last spoke, his creator owned series, along with Brian Hurtt, The Sixth Gun has been commissioned for a six episode mini-series on SyFy. While that's big enough news, he's also been named the writer on Marvel's new origin series of graphic novels, in charge of Spider-Man Season One. And why not throw in an original graphic novel called The Tooth, about a giant sentient tooth. It's wacky time. You might know Chad Michael Murray from One Tree Hill, but soon Archaia will release his original comic book, Everlast, a post apocalyptic adventure on a grand scale. You want to know more? That will be here. Judd Winick is excited. He's excited to be able to talk to Conor about what's happening finally! Here's what we know: Catwoman is sexy, and Batwing is going to be one hell of a ride. Seriously, he's pretty amped about it all. Joshua Hale Fialkov is polite and considerate. Yet his work can be deeply troubling. His mini-series Echoes was recently released in hardcover, and no one would recommend you read it just before bed. He's also got a part in the new DC lineup with I, Vampire, which he tells us all about. Finally, he's got one issue to convince you to love The Test in this year's Top Cow Pilot Season. Scott Snyder has come a long way in not much time, and he couldn't be more enthusiastic about his assignments. Moving on from Detective Comics, he's taking the reins of Batman along with Greg Capullo, and he'll let us know what to expect there. Then there's Swamp Thing coming up, which he's loving as well. Finally, over at Image, he's got a creator owned mini-series called Severed, about a creepy hobo. OK, it's more than that, but either way, it sounds fantastic. He's back! It's Brian K. Vaughan, and early next year we'll see the start of his first new series in years! Joining him on the show, and in creating Saga from Image, is wonderful artist Fiona Staples. There's not a lot to know yet, but if you've read a whole Vaughan series in the past, you know this is going to be great. Come back next week for more from San Diego!

I Fanboy Episode #223 Robert Kirkman At San Diego Comic Con 2011
[LESS INFO] 9 VIEWS | ADDED 01:52:33 07/27/11
It's become an annual tradition from the floor of San Diego Comic-Con! But this year, are things different? Has Robert Kirkman been changed by all the success? Did Hollywood take the lovable Kentucky comic book writer, and turn him into something else? Something darker? If we were to get through with the jaded, pampered and very likely cocaine addled former good guy, we'd ask him about the Walking Dead, Image Comics and Skybound, The Infinite, Brian K. Vaughan, Super Dinosaur, Invincible and more. But it's too bad what happened to him.

It's the fourth annual iFanboy Fourth of July meat and viewer e-mail celebration! You all wrote in wanting answers and here are the lucky few who made the cut: - Joshua asks about Young Justice (the cartoon) and wants to know if Marvel is anti-side kick and if the iFanboys like side kicks. - Scott wants to know which milestone issues are the iFanboys' favorites. - Russ wants to know what the iFanboys would do to entertain themselves on the long flight to Oa and if The Flash would kill people when he punches them. - Eric send the iFanboys down a rabbit hole when he asks who they would put on their Super Mount Rushmore. - Flemin's brother reads comics, just not the comics that Flemin' wants him to read. Plus he needs some trade paperback recommendations that he can give to friends to get them into comics. - Megan wants the iFanboys to list their Top Five On-Going Series. Fire up the grill, slip on your "Kiss the Chef" apron, grab some comics, and join iFanboy as they attempt to successfully answer viewer mail while cooking loads of meat on the grill as they battle a very uncooperative wind situation.

I Fanboy Episode #217 Green Lantern Alan Scott John Stewart Guy Gardner Kyle Rayner & The Movie
[LESS INFO] 298 VIEWS | ADDED 12:00:16 06/15/11
In Brightest Day, in Blackest Night, no evil shall escape his sight. Yes, but who’s sight are we talking about? Sure, we all know that Hal Jordan is the primary Green Lantern of space sector 2814 which consists mostly of the planet Earth. But what about those who have also wielded the emerald ring to protect the human race? Alan Scott The first Green Lantern, and one of the original superheroes, isn’t a member of the Green Lantern Corps at all. But one of the founding members of the Justice Society of America is still pretty badass. John Stewart In the 1970s when Guy Gardner was unavailable to serve as Hal Jordan’s back-up, DC injected a little diversity into its line-up with a Green Lantern who today is arguably the most recognizable Green Lantern in the world (until this Friday, anyway). Guy Gardner The perfect Green Lantern for the 1980s, Guy Gardner burst on the scene and was everything Hal Jordan wasn’t – loud, brash, and arrogant. So of course he instantly became a fan favorite. Kyle Rayner The most controversial of all the replacement Green Lanterns, Kyle Rayner took up the mantle of the primary Green Lantern of 2814 for just about 10 years after Hal snapped and went crazy was infected with Parallax. And finally, it’s back to Hal Jordan again as the up-coming film, Green Lantern, is discussed. What (and who) do the iFanboys hope to see in the film? And are there concerns? Find out this week on iFanboy!

We lok at what As always, it comes down to talking about some of the best and worst powers out there, and whether they're all that important to the stories and characters any longer. We'll be talking about the powers of characters like Superman, the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, X-Men, and even Jack of Hearts, and plenty of others with our microscopic vision and superhuman wit and donut eating abilities. I Fanboy Episode #215 X Men First Class
[LESS INFO] 8 VIEWS | ADDED 19:45:48 06/01/11
All eyes fall on the X-Men this week as the next big comic book movie release is X-Men: First Class, directed by Matthew Vaughn (KICK-ASS). To get psyched up for the movie, the guys at iFanboy are diving deep into the X-Men lore. First touching upon the great series of the same name as the movie, X-Men: First Class by Jeff Parker and Roger Cruz, even though it really has nothing to do with the movie. The movie itself is a prequel of sorts, going back to 1963 and telling the story of the birth of the X-Men. So in honor of that, we take a look at the X-Men in the 1960s, when the titles was pretty much a failure, despite the work of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Roy Thomas and Neal Adams, only to be revitalized in the 1970s after years of reprints. We also discuss the movie and what you should look out for and the numerous things the movie that they got right (looks like there's many) and what they got wrong (not so much). Even Josh is excited for the movie's release mainly due to the historical signifigance and the retro feel. So sit back, put on your Sebastian Shaw ascot and get ready to enjoy some good, retro X-Men fun!
