Your wedding day - it might be the happiest day of your life - but it's also probably one of the most expensive parties you'll ever throw. And brides in the Minot area are ready to spend! We headed over to the Fiancee Bridal Show today to see how the strong economy is boosting the wedding business. As the saying goes - first comes love, then comes marriage - but these days - it doesn't hurt to bring along the checkbook, either. The cost of the average American wedding rings up to about $20,000 - (Kayla Pfau / Bride) "We need bridesmaid dresses, we need to get the cake, the dj..." - and with all the items on this brides to-do list - it's easy to see how it all adds up. But with an event like the Fiancee Bridal Show - vendors and brides are meeting in the middle. (Joel Dennis / T Duggins Photography) "It's good exposure. People get to see some of the prints, see the style of work I do, and they can talk to me face to face and get a good feel about what I can do for them." From the pictures - to the music - and of course, the food, saying "I do" is just the beginning. But the big draw, of course, is the fashion show. (Kayla Pfau / Bride) "The dress is the big thing!" To an audience of "very important brides" - a few of these 170 or so styles may make a trip from the runway to aisle. (Erin Borud / Model) "Definitely a variety of dresses, we have a couple bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, and a few prom gowns as well." But hey - just because you walk the walk, doesn't mean it's time to take the plunge just yet. (Erin Borud / Model) "I'm not ready for this yet! I don't know!" But for those who are ready - hopefully they'll walk away with some inspiration - but also remembering what really matters. (Kayla Pfau / Bride) "Hopefully it will be the wedding of our dreams!"
