At least 18 people were arrested during an early morning drug sweep in the borough. State, local and federal law enforcement authorities fanned out across the area early this morning to serve as many as 100 arrest warrants. Most of the warrants were drug-related. This is the second sweep in as many years, carried out in the aftermath of a number of shootings - including the shooting death of Ollie Cloyd in July 2009.

Video: Holidays a tough time for family who lost infant son 12/19/10
For the family of little Brandon Lucero, a 17-month old boy killed by a suspected impaired driver, the holidays aren't the same. But Saturday Albuquerque police officers, who helped the family after the crash, helped them again by showering Brandon's twin brother with gifts. For little Ryan Lucero, christmas cheer came to his doorstep early, it wasn't santa but the albuquerque police DWI Task Force. This christmas Ryan needs some cheer, just a month away from his second birthday, he's already been through more than any little boy should. In may, his twin brother Brandon died in a car crash, Ryan was so severely injured in that crash he spent weeks in a body cast. His body has mended and the officers are hoping his heart will mend someday as well. The twins grandfather Richard Woodridge said, "It was just amazing, it brought tears to my eyes. I was thinking of Brandon." Looking over Ryan Woodridge said they miss brandon everyday and are just as grateful Ryan is still with them. "Thank you all of you. God bless you," Woodridge said to the officers. "It's very moving , it's very emotional," Officer Pete Romero said. "Just want him to know we're here for him whatever he needs." Brandon was killed by an alleged intoxicated driver, a man accused of downing pills and alcohol before crashing into the twins while they rode in the backseat of their grandfather's car. "We just need to stress that to people who drink and drive can really cause a lot of heartaches for families and we need to stop that," said Woodridge. The trial for Ramon Rascon, the man accused of killing Brandon Lucero and injuring his brother Ryan is set for March of next year.
