The New England Patriots showing the other football teams how to run a website
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 01:22:34 04/07/10
Are you ready for some football? I hope you are because we have the opportunity to have the host of Patriots Today, Brian Lowe, honor us with his presence. Patriots Today is not your typical broadcast devoted to a football team. It is developed for the Patriots by the Patriots which means that you get to see a closeup view of what it really means to be a part of the team. Being one of the first to embrace technology there is no question why the Patriots have plenty of fans all over the world. In our interview we take you behind the scenes of the website. This includes how the Patriots uses technology to stay connected with their fans. From charity, honoring the troops, or even providing multiple languages and online games in the fan zone; the Patriots keep raising the bar for all of the other NFL teams on and off the field.

Youtego, and what it took for me to finally understand it!
[LESS INFO] 1 VIEWS | ADDED 07:05:47 12/25/09
When I first came across Youtego , I knew it was special. It was so special that I had no idea whatsoever what I was supposed to do with it. Thanks to the helpful guidance of Artyom Shamtsyan, founder of the website, I had a great opportunity to better understand the everything. The best way of explaining the website is a combination of discovering yourself and at the same time social networking through those connections. By tagging yourself a whole new world opens up. These tags are called “tegos”. These “tegos” combine a description with a picture from either an icon library, upload from a disk, Flickr, Picasa, or even google. We started at the beginning where I got an overview of my profile including the use of “tegosets” to start adding “tegos” to the various categories. In the end I was able to make this very cool video with music attached that can be embedded into any website. Eventually we were able to go onto other users accounts through the “You Match” and “Planet” where you can leave expression that anyone can view about your feeling of a particular “tego”. You can even leave your story so that others can read about the particular story. I want you to be able to experience all of this yourself so be sure to check out the interview and tutorial from Artyom himself. It might take some time to fully understand it but once you fully understand the concept it couldn’t be easier. Let us know what you think of Youtego by commenting below. Happy tegoing!

Make this years holidays extra special with Element Bars
[LESS INFO] 2 VIEWS | ADDED 03:04:43 11/17/09
The holidays are just around the corner or if you have taken a look at the current market trend the holidays are in full force even though I have not had a chance to enjoy some well deserved Turkey. With everyone already concerned about what they are going to give and how they are going to be unique, do I have the solution for you. I had the opportunity to speak to Jonathan Miller, CEO of Element Bars and get a better idea of what makes their website worthy of being declared one of Hot Domain Show's hot sites of 2009. What seemed at first like a gimmick that appeared on ABC's Shark Tank is more magical and entertaining then I could ever imagine. Every detail from the way the bar is put together to the way you name the bar is personalized. No wonder the sharks bit. To get a better idea check out the end of our video to hear more about Jonathan's experience on Shark Tank. There you will see that the website is very user friendly with questionnaires if you are unsure what bar to pick. Or if you want to try to learn more about each ingredient there is a section devoted to you. Then again you may want to try out multiple bars, and that's where the Variety Pack comes in. We were able to put a Hot Domain Show bar together in this video and we invite you to try making one yourself. In fact Jonathan has provided you a 15% off coupon when you enter in HD15 at checkout. If you decide to make a bar and purchase it why not share what you ended up making in the comment section below. Stay tuned more hot sites coming your way.

2 girls 1 duck - contains spoilers
[LESS INFO] 1 VIEWS | ADDED 10:15:58 09/17/09
This video at first started out just like any other. It just wasn’t cool or interesting, however once the action took place it became a whole different ball game. I don’t want to spoil too much but let’s just say the 2 girls and the 1 duck are very important parts to the overall story that plays out. In fact I found a little bonus which I showcase in more detail if you read more. SPOILER ALERT – now don’t say that I didn’t warn you. When I clicked on the video by accident while it was playing I ended up entering a strange new world where the RubberDuckZilla played the main character. The website is an old school video game fun fest complete with video game looks and music background. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen I was quite confused when it was asking me to print out a symbol of a rain drop. Even more fascinating was the comic that was hidden on the website along with a video of the 2 girls from the original video demonstrating on how to print out a special tool to play the games. I knew I was going to feature the main video but seeing the webcam recognize the symbol that I printed out was quite cool. For some of the games I found the symbol tough to keep on the screen long enough to play the games but for others it worked beautifully. Looking back I should have included more lighting in the room to compensate for the darkness that must have not allowed the web cam to work correctly. I noticed that the 2 girls did demonstrate that even if you don’t print out the picture of the rain drop you could always draw it yourself using a marker. I never tried it out but would like to hear if anyone else resorted to that trick. All in all for a nice little diversion into the world of RubberDuckZilla try out the website and see if you can beat the high score.

EventBrite – putting on events easy as pie
[LESS INFO] 1 VIEWS | ADDED 13:49:52 09/08/09
Hurry hurry hurry! Step right up and see the greatest show ever. Imagine being able to sell tickets just like the big stadiums. ticketmaster® is always attached to the big concerts and you can now be just like them with little to no knowledge of how to put together an event. The website is called EventBrite and I had the honor of having Tamara Mendelsohn give me a tour and show me how easy it is to put up an event in under an hour. With 8 million plus tickets sold so far it just proves that even organizers wanted an easier way of ticketing their occasions. Once the convention is created that is where EventBrite throws caution to the wind allowing users to print up an attendee list, make name tags, send out invitations, create countdown clocks, and so much more! The cost for this is up to you. If you make the event free, then the final cost is free. If you charge then you can choose if you want EventBrite to add a charge to the customers or to just take a percentage from the amount of tickets sold that would not be visible as part of the price of the ticket. This is perfect for weddings, social gatherings, conventions, your next musical gig, events at your place of worship, etc. Even if you are not that good at figuring out how to use the tools EventBrite provides a toll free phone number 1-800-350-8850 6am-6pm PT. I tried to put on an event just to go down to the local deli with a few of my friends and it was magical to see how well this works. Maybe one day we will have a Hot Domain Show Convention. A guy can dream.

heyZap taking gaming to the next level
[LESS INFO] 3 VIEWS | ADDED 11:57:24 08/13/09
Ready to find the next exciting website I found my way to Heyzap . Online games have always been an addicting and yet entertaining amount of time that I take out of my daily life to engulf into. Making a game always seemed like a cool idea but as far as money goes there really wasn’t a way to profit from it. That was then and this is now, with Heyzap allowing for 70% of revenue earned to go towards the developers of these exciting games which influences them to continue producing. The part where Heyzap really succeeds is that you don’t have to be on their website to play the games. Anyone can embed a game they enjoy on their website or even send it off to Myspace or Facebook. Even though it is not available yet, soon publishers will have the ability of earning a little cash of their own as a result of their visitors playing games. These can be customized to the exact specifications that a publisher wants through API or for those that just want a simple and easy way you can use the customizer on the heyZap website to allow the games to fit your audience. Take some time to watch the video above of Jude, co-founder of Heyzap as he features his website and play a few of the games that we discussed about below including Hannah Montana. Oh and one more thing if you are looking for a job, Heyzap wants you to apply. The pay is good since they are being funded by the same group that helped get twitter going. You would become the fourth member of the current 3 part team. You can apply by clicking here .

Adopt A Us Soldier knows how to support our troops
[LESS INFO] 2 VIEWS | ADDED 22:54:19 07/29/09
On a mission to find the next great website I went through my normal channels poking around for answers. There were all kinds of sites but none of them made me want to contact them. The best suggestion that I received had the simplest idea and really makes one feel like you are doing your part by participating. The name of the website, Adopt A US Soldier. Started out by Ann Johnson, the CEO and Founder of the project after she teamed up with her friends to ship packages to her son Paul’s platoon. One of those friends, an air traffic controller, managed to get the Denver International Airport to donate care packages that totaled $3000. The soldiers wrote thank you letters which where eventually rerouted to everyone that helped support the project. A hand written letter, seen by clicking here , on the website from Paul illustrates a day in the life of a soldier. Adopt A US Soldier has grown over it’s 4 years with 35 volunteers running the behind the scenes operations. This morning I had the honor to get a tour from Satin Modesitt, the Director of Organized Groups, where she demonstrated to me how the website works. If you are a soldier, it could not be easier. Just fill in the form on the website including all of the required information including what you are interested in and Adopt A US Soldier takes care of the rest. Citizens have a different form to fill out where you get taken to a forum where you can talk about the packages that you are sending and become part of the online community. A typical soldier according to Satin can find themselves adopted by 6 citizens at a time. This ensures that the soldier gets taken care of one way or another. Even though it sounds difficult to put together a care package, Satin showed us how easy it truly is. She mentioned that even “just a handwritten letter from home… is like a big hug from the states…” If you want to adopt your very own soldier go to www.adoptaussoldier.org or you can help by going to http://communicause.com/5025 and help Adopt a US Soldier win a $25,000 social media makeover. Finally if you are into free online games, make it count, go to http://www.iwon.com/teamInfo.jhtml?teamId=56621 and collect coins towards a $5000 prize for the organization. Whatever you do know that you are making a difference.

First Look at 6rounds.com and how it’s going to change video social interactions forever.
[LESS INFO] 0 VIEWS | ADDED 09:40:14 07/16/09
In a world of boring video chats it's hard to imagine that anything would ever get better. The team at 6rounds.com is ready to change your idea of what it means to video chat. Imagine effects and gifts that interact with you and your partner on the screen. If you are like me I've always been into games and 6rounds.com delivers. With a limited catalogue at this moment this will slowly change as 6rounds.com will be including a Studio where developers will be able to make and decide if they want to offer their applications for free or for pay. At time of publication the Studio has yet to be released. My experience started when I first logged into the website using a code from a colleague of mine. There I was ready to meet my host Ilan, COO of 6rounds.com , at the time it was getting a bit late past the time of the interview and instead of emailing back and forth we were able to interact through the 6rounds.com site. Unlike other sites that just send you an email telling you to log in to receive the message 6rounds.com sends you an email with the full message attached. This makes it very comfortable and fluid to use this as a tool for interaction. If you are logged into the website a yellow box appears in the upper right hand corner notifying you that you have a new message. Looking at Ilan's list of friends I found one online. By clicking on him and choosing One to One I was fascinated on how it gave me choices of how many minutes I wanted to spend with this person that I had no idea who it was and even if they were even going to help me locate Ilan. The room launched and there before me I found myself face to face interacting with live human being. I asked where Ilan was and I was told that he would be right on. Then I saw it, the green light next to Ilan's name had lit up in the program. We tried a few times to get into a One to One having to relaunch a few times, a bug that 6rounds .com is fully aware of and is working on fixing. I have to tell you, once we were inside, Ilan showed me all the cool features of what separated 6rounds .com from all the other sites out there claiming to be the best. Even in Beta lockdown mode it was incredible to see. If this is the way the site looks when it is not even released to the general public, then world watch out. Ilan had mentioned that they are in need of people to test out the website for them to provide feedback so that this can be fixed. This is why we are pleased to announce that I have here in my hand for you 250 codes to access the website and experience this for yourself. The code is 6hot. Very clever 6 as in 6 rounds and hot as in the Hot Domain Show.
Take some time to watch the video above and make sure to sit through the entire 12 minutes, you will then understand why I am honored to present to you the loyal fans this wonderful opportunity to experience a video social networking treasure that shouts, hey world, look what we can do!

Forces: U.S. & Coalition/Casualties - Special Reports from CNN.com
[LESS INFO] 1 VIEWS | ADDED 19:03:07 07/10/09
I have been hearing a whole lot of news over the radio about all of the celebrities that have passed away. That being said it also occurred to me that during the press obsession with broadcasting Michael Jackson's funeral for 4+ hours that we were also missing out on the real heroes, the troops that are giving their lives to afford us the freedom that we take advantage of every single solitary day. Take a few moments out of your day and honor those that have lost their life to defend this country. http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/
