DJsounds' Lorna Cole decided to take us on a tour of three of the best bars Ibiza has to offer, to give us a glimpse of the slightly more chilled side of an Ibiza holiday...although of course music and DJs feature highly... Her first stop was Aura, situated in the north of the island. Andres Cervero, their Resident DJ and Sound Engineer, gave her the lowdown on his role, the DJ booth set-up and the type of artists they have playing there throughout the summer. It's a destination bar so you can get your food, drink and dance the night away all in the one place, and as it's Ibiza, Aura doesn't need to advertise who they have playing - it's word of mouth - much cooler! Lorna took a trip all the way back down south for her next bar - El Chiringuito. It's situated on the beautiful Salinas beach where, as Jonathan Thorogood, one of the owners, told her, back in the day, everyone including the staff was naked! Salinas is still a nudist beach, but much more conservatively so now and most people keep their kit on rather than off. Jonathan told Lorna all about the vibe there and their Beats on the Beach event every Friday with a live band and DJ, Andy Baxter. Last but not least Lorna took us to Novum, situated in the middle of the island, in the beautiful town of Santa Gertrudis. Here, she spoke to owner, Manuel Lopez, who used to manage Privilege.
