The Gin Sling is a reflection of a time when alcohol was much more rough and tumble than it is today. First recorded definition of a Sling was from "History of New Sweden", published in 1759, as translated from Swedish into English: "Long-sup or sling was one half water and one half rum with sugar in it to taste." Today, we re-create the gin sling as it used to be and providing tasting notes on something that you probably would not find non a bar menu today. Recipe: 2 oz. Dry Gin, 1 oz. Water, 1 tsp Sugar.

The Ward 8 or Ward Eight is a cocktail originating in 1898 in Boston, Massachusetts at the bar of Locke-Ober. The Kraken's Blood, a shooter that brings a strong jagermeister flavor. The red bull isn't a serious big deal in the flavor, but the medicinal profile comes on strong as well. This isn't a great "cocktail" as a sipper as it has a bit of a sour red bull citrus flavor when sipped slowly and can come on a bit intense. This is basically a jager and red bull with, maybe, a hint of spiced rum but so little it maybe will not make a difference to a typical consumer. Basically, this is a bunch in the eye sockets in flavor. Recipe: 1/2 oz. Kraken Spiced Rum, 1/2 oz. Jagermeister, 1 oz. Red Bull

The Ramos Gin Fizz, a classic cocktail from the 1888 invented by Henry C. Ramos. You may also refer to it as a New Orleans Fizz if you would like, but at the end of the day this classic breakfast cocktail brings some flavors not usually seen within a cocktail. Tasting notes really come down to the flavor of a citrus heavy yogurt. However, we are not talking about an overly sweet yogurt infused with citrus, but more of a plain white yogurt with striking citrus notes. Alcohol Intensity: 2.0 Recipe: 2 oz. Gin, 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup, 1/2 oz. Lemon Juice, 1/2 oz. Lime Juice, 2 Drops Orange Blossom Water, 2 Drops Vanilla Extract, 2 oz. Heavy Cream, Egg white, topped with club soda.

The Rum Runners Winter can be built absolutely wrong, which is how we start the video. When you accidentally pickup the 151 you end up with a ball of fire in your mouth. But, when you build the drink correctly you get proper tasting notes. The tasting notes include a very non-sweet "watery" cocktail without any big body with a bit of vanilla, spicy notes that has an aroma of eggnog. Perhaps a colder version of a hot toddy like drink. Try this drink warm, what do you think? Question of the day, do you like your cocktails warmed, hot or cold? Alcohol Intensity: 6.5 Recipe: 2 oz. Dark Rum, 1 oz. Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice, 1/4 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice, Dash of Vanilla Extract, Pinch of Cinnamon, Pinch of Cloves, Pinch of Cayenne Pepper

The Almond Roll cocktail brings nice almond flavor but also reminds us closely of one of those yellow tootsie roll candies. This cocktail may become a great social lubricant! Question of the day, what's the most expensive liquor you'd love to own but just can't put the money into buying? Word of the day: social lubricant Recipe: 1 oz. triple sec, 1.5 oz amaretto, 2.5 oz lemonade

The wawa cocktail begins like a rum and coke with hints of bourbon and banana. The taste begins as a standard rum and coke with a bit of banana, a back-end burn that finishes in bourbon, interesting! Question of the day, do you value alcohol based on intense flavor within the drink or physical proof of alcohol within the drink. Alcohol Intensity: 7.5 Recipe: 2 oz. Southern Comfort, 2 oz. Light Rum, 1 oz. 99 Bananas, Top with Cola

Thanks for all the support this year, it was a great year. We also wanted to send out a special thanks to Crown Royal and their #PassTheCrown contest which won us and one of our fans a Reed & Barton Tapered Soho Decanter Set, which we have given out to one of our special fans: Bob & Ellie who have supported our show for years and continue to show their great support. Common Man Cocktails has some of the best and brightest fans in the world. Unlike many Internet-based shows which get all assortments of childish and screwball viewers, CMC gets the cream of the crop, the quality viewer whom interacts, socializes and assists us in creating great works of video each and every week. We have the fans that show up for our live streams to chat together and enjoy each others company as a community. To build a community around a small cocktail show is much more than even we could imagine, it is what many producers would call "success." It does not come down to sheer numbers of viewers or subscribers but the quality of the audience you have--there is no value to me having a million subscribers if that brings with it a million douchebags. I would take a small group of top quality viewers over a million drones any day of the week and continue to support that idea given our mature audience of that does nothing but help us grow and succeed. Thanks again for the great year and for the streamy nomination support.

The Nut Kicker Shooter, the shot that will no doubt kick you right in the nut. The tasting notes are quite simple, it's pretty much awful and tastes like something you may have regurgitated at some point in time. Or, perhaps just something you imagine as being fairly awful. Plus, it gave Doug the hiccups. Recipe: 1/2 oz. Jack Daniels, 1/2 oz. Sour Apple Pucker, 1/2 oz. Jagermeister, 1/4 oz. Aquavit

The Legend Martini, an ugly presentation with its "dirty water" look, but the flavor is a worthwhile experience. A sour rich raspberry flavor with a nice lime balance with a dry finish finish and no vodka flavor or burn. This could be a heavy hitting cocktail so take it slow. Recipe: 2 oz. Vodka, 1 oz. Blackberry Liqueur, 1 oz. Lime Juice, Dash of Simple Syrup

To continue to relive the Christmas Holiday, we've got one more Christmas based coffee cocktail that can be used to recover from the holidays. But, don't expect any caffeine as this cocktail doesn't actually contain any coffee beans, just the essence of a holiday coffee creation. Recipe: 1 oz. Amaretto, 1 oz. Mango Juice, 1 oz. Warm Coconut Milk, Top with Whipped Cream, Garnish with a Cinnamon Stick
