Over one year after the LittleBigPlanet 2 Beta started I’d assumed that we’d seen the last of the beta level re-makes but SneakySteve1983 has bought back one of my favourites. Squared is one of those levels that’s easy to play but very hard to ace...

TOBSn08 is known for his beautifully charming art style and Paris is for Lovers is arguably his best work yet. If you can stop gawping the visuals for a second and actually play the level you won’t be disappointed in the gameplay either. The fast,...

Funky Bones III is an incredible, highly-polished platformer from loz2502. The creepy yet beautiful Day of the Dead-style theme is reminiscent of The Wedding from LBP 1 and makes for some excellent visuals and gameplay. The level takes a brief bre...

In this entry for LittleBigWorkshop's 'Move My Sackboy' contest, you use the PlayStation Move controller as a torch to activate platforms and switches and to light the way for Sackboy. I recommend trying this level with a friend as I did (thanks F...

The Final Hour is an epic, cinematic platformer from xTrophx. It uses similar lighting and emitter techniques as those employed by anpostteller in his ‘Post-apocalyptic’ levels but also features some amazing-looking flame effects using glass. I particularly likes the tunnel sequence at the end. Optimised for iPod Touch/iPhone.

We’ve all been there: You’ve been out, got a bit panda and aren’t feeling at your best the next morning. Then you find out all your cows are missing and while looking for them you get attacked by demonic chickens. Your only hope is to hunt down a crazy, talking beer bottle’s miracle hangover cures… Just me? Oh, alright. A lot of you may have already played this one but I just realised that I’ve never recorded a GruntosUK LBP 1 level before and this is one of my favourites so I wanted to share it with you all just [...] Optimised for iPod Touch/iPhone.

Creator synopsys: “In order to discover the answer to the question “What is Fun?”, you have entered the Great Tree. Unfortunately it’s inhabitants aren’t particularly helpful…” Chimp’s two-cents: “This is a great-looking level with loads of variety and brilliant humour. The lighting looks gorgeous and the characters and enviroments are very well crafted. This is the third in a series of levels following a prelude and of course, Part 1 so make sure you check those out as well while you’re browsing Asbestos101′s creations. The boss fight at the end is great fun, especially with two players.” Thanks to Nuclearfish [...] Optimised for iPod Touch/iPhone.

A beautiful, bright and vibrant platformer by KARAS-X. Twisty stailcases, wonky platforms and crooked doors adorn this brilliant, and sometimes tricky platformer. Thanks for Nuclearfish and BasketSnake for sending me down the rabbit hole! …And I only died three times!! :| Optimised for iPod Touch/iPhone.

Creator synopsys: “Hop, bop & bounce your way through the first of a series of levels, greatly inspired by the platformers of old.” Chimp’s two cents: “A bright and colourful traditional platformer from Kiminski. The gameplay is exciting and varied with lots of familiar elements from those classic platformers. There are loads of routes through the level and loads of hidden or difficult to get to areas which add replay value. Really looking forward to the next one in the series.” Find this level easily in LittleBigPlanet by searching for ‘$neuron @Kiminski’. Optimised for iPod Touch/iPhone.

Creator synopsys: “Journey into Skull Rock and look for treasure!” Chimp’s two cents: “This is the follow-up to BlahYouHamster’s last underwater epic: In Search of Treasure (see the video that this is a response to to watch it). It follows-on from and maintains the look of the first level but Skull Rock is a Companion Cube level where you need to drag a treasure chest through underwater caverns and sunken ships and use it to help you pass some tricky puzzles. Threading a floaty wooden box through some pretty tight spots aint easy when you’re fighting to reach the next [...] Optimised for iPod Touch/iPhone.

Fizzy’s two-cents: “Just Hatched! by Syroc is a great little platforming level. Its not the longest level in the world but the design and bright colours are extactly what i think of when I think about LittleBigPlanet. Starting out inside an egg is a great touch! Some of you hardcore happy gadders out there may not find it that challanging but the design and fluidity of the gameplay makes great for all levels of ability.” Find this level easily in LittleBigPlanet by searching for ‘$hatched @Syroc’. Optimised for iPod Touch/iPhone.

A beatifully weird world full of quirky characters and amazing contraptions that Terry Gilliam himself would be proud of. Inspired (I assume) by the film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (edit: I’ve since been told by the Creator that I was completely wrong there. Whoops!), this level uses lighting really cleverly to bring to life a bizzare world of German pigs and crazy scientists. Find this level easily in LittleBigPlanet by searching for ‘$edward @thecooper8′. Optimised for iPod Touch/iPhone.

Sometimes in LittleBigPlanet, you need to draw the player’s attention to a specific area or object in a level, and have the camera follow that object even if it moves out of range of the normal Camera tool. Here’s a way of achieving just that using a Magic Mouth and the Cutscene Camera option. Optimised for iPod Touch/iPhone.
