Still, we found that the majority of people stood firm in their position that the family is the essential part of a child's conduct in school. But some said other factors come into play and the school system can't be blamed.

At least 10 years ago, Sen.Ted Kennedy (D-MA), spearheaded a Bill that would crack down on tobacco advertising that targets youth. On June 22 The U.S. Government signed into law The F.D.A. Tobacco Regulation Bill. The Government now requires Tobacco companies to increase the size of Warning labels and refrain from misleading advertising techniques. Tobacco manufacturer companies will also be required to provide information about all tobacco ingredients. We spoke to people in San Francisco today, some people think the bill is a good idea but others say it won't matter because the choice always lies within the person.

On June 19th, 1865, in Galveston, Texas, Union Gen. Gordon Granger announced that slavery had ended. This was nearly 2 years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. This is the origin of Juneteenth celebrations. The Juneteenth celebration of old featured cowboys, food and the ever synonymous strawberry soda. At San Francisco's 59th annual Juneteenth celebration, the old traditions were joined with the African American experience of today. Although many were unaware that Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom and the African American culture, they gather to enjoy the festivities and are drawn to the strong sense of community.

Due to the constant sampling and lack of real musicianship, most felt that music is no longer authentic and were uncertain about its future. Those that were more optimistic about music and its future, believed that while music went through periods of change, it remained enjoyable. No matter how this question was answered, all agreed that "Old School" music is the steady foundation.
