A local cheer team spent some time in Cadillac's Downtown Park this weekend, raising money to go competitive. The Cadillac High School Varsity and JV Cheer teams held a "picnic in the park" on Saturday, June 13. Students from the teams offered grilled hot dogs, salads, snacks and beverages to park patrons; all the students asked for in return was a donation to their team. Donations are being used to help fund the cheer team's efforts to compete in numerous competitions during the 2009 - 2010 school year; the team's coach said that in addition to the picnic, there will be plenty more fundraisers this summer. "We have fundraisers every Saturday," Natalie Lowing, Cadillac High School's JV Cheer Coach, told Local Edition, "You can look for us every Saturday. We have car washes, gas pumps, picnics, bake sales, and we've just got plenty of things planned for the whole summer. Also, you can send a donation to Cadillac High School care of Cadillac Cheer Program, and that will help us out as well."
